Niagara Falls is a small town so don't expect bike kiosk on every block like in larger cities. That wouldn't be a issue if the bike locater map on the web site actually worked better so you could know were the kiosk are located. I've always been nervous about getting a bike that was left in a random spot but I tried it out of necessity after doing the Maid if the Mist boat tour and walking to Canada I was tired and didn't want to walk back to my hotel. It worked out pretty well but it does take a bit of patience to maneuver the site. The cool thing is.... If you pick a random bike but return it to a kiosk you get a credit. I would use them again but at least know how to navigate the system. The bike map access is my only issue but I managed.

The Shoreline trail has several rest stops, picnic areas and even some historical sites. Runs along the Robert Moses highway. View of the Niagara River was really nice. We bikes through Goat Island and took a break at the top of Terrapin Point. View of the Horseshoe Fall was lovely, as always. Not as many tourists due to the pandemic. Yet, handful of visitors enjoying the fresh air, sunshine and the Falls. The bikes were easy to rent. Simple instructions. Sure beats carting your bikes in your vehicle. I had tried mounting bike racks on my car several times in the past. No success. The bike rack would not properly mount, or scratch the top of the car etc. Considering I only need a bike rack occasionally, this was a good alternative. Not too expensive, hassle free. We purchased the group rate of $9.00 for two days, up to 4 riders. Hourly rate of $6.00 and $2.00 out of hub fee. I'm all for two bikes for around 2 hours we spent $40.00 approximately. Next time, I'd like to rent the Reddy bikes in the city of Buffalo. I'd recommend the Reddy Bikeshare.

The chute entrance into the canal is suited for anyone - but especially useful for elders or those with mobility issues. But the best part of Erie Canal Boat Company in Fairport is the owner Pete. He wants everyone to love boating and get the best experience possible. First he has and knows everything about the equipment and will get you perfectly situated for what you need to have an amazing time out on the water. What really shines is his personality though... Pete is a giver and is generous with his time, expertise and enthusiasm for paddling. He not only runs the shop, but helps get you in and out of the boat and safely in and out of the canal. He loves what he does and he loves helping you get out and enjoying the canal. His enthusiasm is contagious. He is simply THE BEST!!! We had the best time this morning and can't wait to spend many days this summer out on the water with Pete's help. Just be brave and go. It's the most wonderful feeling!

The water was clean in some parts and not in others. There were a few large branches we had to avoid. We got a quick good lesson on kayaking before we went into the water; it was very helpful. Our kayaking journey was absolutely beautiful. We passed a whole lot of ducks. They really kept us entertained. We passed a cute park, went through some gorgeous neighborhoods. Overall, there were a lot of trees on the shore by the canal so it felt very serene. I would recommend kayaking here! :)

For $5, you get two tamales which can be summed up as deliciousness wrapped in a corn husk. You can get either a vegetarian one with sweet potatoes or a chicken one (which also has some sweet potatoes) and which is topped with avocado and cilantro. If you've never tried a tamale, you owe it to yourself to hit up this tamale cart. Huge unexpected bonus for BEAUTIFUL presentation. They are the most gorgeous tamales -- they almost belong in a museum!

I immediately reminisced to my days in Los Angeles when my Salvadorian students would bring me tamales that their mom's made (true story). Anyway, after the initial excitement I got in line and placed an order. The first time I went to Three Sisters, they had one tamale for $5. The second time I went to Three Sisters, they had two tamales for $6. The more the merrier, sounds good to me. Hopefully their prices will steady and have consistency in the near future. Both times I got these tamales they were very, very good. The second time I got one sweet potato tamale and one chicken tamale. I preferred the sweet potato although that's not to say the chicken tamale was bad; it wasn't. The tamales come topped with deliciousness (cilantro, onion if you'd like, and yummy sauce). I would say it's impossible to not finish them! The service is awesome, the young gentlemen who make the tamales appear friendly and happy even when it's quite hot outside. They're quick too! I suppose I should note that Three Sisters Tamale Company is a traveling cart and can be found at Larkin Square among other events, such as Cirque de Square. If you should spot them - stop and get some tamales, you won't be disappointed!
