I question whether 1 star is deserved after the 2nd year in a row, my pre ordered Christmas eve family meal was not ready at the time I requested. Last year I had ordered it for pickup at 6:00 and it was finally ready at 7:30, 90 minutes late. Atleast they were handing out beers and giving away 20% coupons and making the best of a tough situation. I thought, lesson learned , improve next year. This year I received an email they had started an online ordering service, so I thought the restaurant had learned their lesson from their previous year's disaster, so give them another chance. I was wrong. I ordered my meal for pickup at 5:00. Again I was greeted with the long line of people standing around the bar just like last year with lot's of comments stating waiting over an hour for their pre ordered meal. At 6:30 after flagging down the previous owner who was there that evening to just be around but she jumped in to help her brother who took over the business, she told me my order was now being prepped but they had already run out of Mongolian beef which was one of the entrees I had ordered. Finally received my order at 7:30, 2 1/2 hours after the promised time, less one entree and not until I got home, less 1 order of egg rolls. There was free beer being given out like last year but no discount coupons. I was promised and did receive a credit of $22 for the not prepared entrée but in this case, I feel I should have been given a full refund. I know this restaurant has been in business for 40 years but it is obvious the current management has no idea how to run this restaurant during busy times. I will definitely avoid coming back, they are lot's of other chinese restaurants to choose from who make good on when the food is ready to be picked up. read more

We've been coming here for 10 years. Always has been consistently good. Fresh tender chicken and beef, every time. Well, they changed the cuts of meat and it isn't good. I started going to this restaurant on my children were little so it's unrealistic to expect excellence for 25 years. Overall, the food is traditional Chinese American, and good ...nothing spectacular. Nothing to write home about. We were supposed to go downtown for a nice upscale belated anniversary dinner but we were both pooped so we stayed near home and stopped in to Shanghai. We saw good reviews. I'd say good just depends on what you're looking for. We've frequented a lot of Asian restaurants over the years and had at least some level of expectation... and it's not like anything was bad... and I can't even say it felt or tasted inauthentic. We felt it just tasted like it's catering to its clientele: an American suburb... extremely mild, mellow, not bad but just essentially made basic for our suburban tastebuds. The place is clearly well loved among some crowds... it was busy! Service was very kind, prompt, helpful. Ambience was good, well appointed, warm and clean... plenty to look at as far as a standard Chinese restaurant menu in the US. Just the food left me feeling like I was at a family restaurant in the Midwest and had ordered their one international dish. Great people working there, and their niche is clearly working for them as they are so busy. Probably a good entry point for someone wary of Chinese food. Maybe just not my thing. read more

Great Chinese takeout option. They have reasonable prices and really good food. Everything was still warm and crisp by time we got home. Enjoyed the sesame chicken and Kung POW chicken with fried rice. Also had the cheese wontons and sweet and sour soup. Food is just ok, the owner lady is rude. Earlier this year I went to pick-up a small take-out order. One of the servers carried the bag from the kitchen to the register, maybe 10 feet, I gave her a fresh $2.00 bill. As I headed towards the door, the owner yelled out, "Next time, tip more"! I got take out, so I can't comment on the service. Their staple, Sesame Chicken, and their pan fried dumplings hit the spot. The up charge for the fried rice was nice since I didn't want to order a whole order of fried rice. It was good, not amazing, maybe their full order of fried rice would be better. I'll try some more on report back, but I will try more so that deserves some stars. read more

Being Asian myself, I tend to be a bit picky where I order from, and this place had me surprised. Whenever we try something new, I always brace myself for a mediocre experience, but the dishes here were nothing short of delicious! My hubs ordered General Tso's extra spicy... which could have perhaps had a bit more heat, I chose the chicken with green beans and was not at all disappointed. The egg rolls were also cold in the middle, indicating that they were probably ordered from a warehouse and reheated (just not quite well enough). I would give this place 3.5 stars. This is your typical American Chinese restaurant. So it's not that anything was terrible, it's just American Chinese. We usually take the trek over to Star Kitchen, which I would give 5 stars. We have had their gyoza appetizer, I think mine is better but if you don't want to make it, it's alright... 3.5 stars. This place has good food. A bit overly priced, however. Ordered takeout tonight and got Mongolian beef (with some other dishes). There was about 8-10 little pieces of beef and the rest was a ton of onions. I feel ripped off bc there was barely any meat. Very good getaway if you want simple Asian-American food. The price is average but the service is good and friendly. The servers are attentive and they keep the jasmine tea coming. The owner isn't super friendly but on a good day she will acknowledge you but I don't go there for that I go there for the food and the price is fair but a little on the high end. This has become my family's favorite Chinese go-to place in the Denver Metro area. Straight up Chinese-American comfort food, I wouldn't go here looking for authentic Cantonese or Szechuan style cooking but more what you remember eating as a kid in the US. Some of our favorite dishes are the Chicken Lettuce Wraps, Mongolian Beef, Firecracker Chicken, Hot and Sour or Egg Drop soups, Chicken Fried Rice and Tofu with Veggies. Catering to American palates they use a bit (or a lot) of sugar in many dishes and we really appreciate that they prepare certain dishes for us without sugar when requested. Everything is tasty and made with high quality ingredients (no mystery meats!!) and service is efficient and fast. As an Asian I find it pretty funny that people expect smiles and fantastic service dining out at Asian restaurants. Overall, it just really doesn't happen. However, I do expect good food, a clean establishment and reasonable turnaround time on service. Located in a strip mall parking is plentiful. For people who dine with kids they offer crayons for little ones to draw on the paper they use to line each table. read more

Ordered food at 5:30pm to be picked up. Was told it would be ready at 6:15 PM. Got to the restaurant and had to park in the fire lane as there was no parking in the parking lot. When I went to pick up the food, we were told they had a computer system issue and were running a little behind, but no one told us how far behind. After waiting 15 minutes I was finally told it would be at least another 10 minutes. I understand system issues, but they should have notified me at time of order and shouldn't have taken to-go orders. I was not able to stay any longer and after wasting 45 minutes of my time, I still don't have dinner. Not a good pick up experience. read more
