We stopped into this little Chinese buffet on a Sunday night about an hour before closing and had a genuinely great experience. They are also under new ownership as of Spring 2026, and the staff made a very positive impression on us. Our waiter kept drinks filled, cleared plates quickly, and even offered us to-go drinks before we left. The service really stood out. The buffet selection was a little limited at 8:00 PM on a Sunday, which is understandable, and I'm guessing they probably offer more variety during busier hours. They told us they would refill the fried rice and within minutes a fresh batch was brought out. My father-in-law mentioned some potatoes he had enjoyed on a previous visit, even though they were not part of the buffet that night, and the manager personally brought out a plate just for him. That was above-and-beyond hospitality. The food itself was exactly what you hope for from a classic Chinese buffet. Lo mein, General Tso's chicken, fried rice, beef with onions, teriyaki chicken, egg drop soup, those soft little sugar donuts, fresh orange slices, even hard boiled eggs. Everything at our table disappeared and everyone was happy. One fun bonus: the restaurant is in a former Pizza Hut building. If you inhale especially deeply in the vestibule, there is still the faintest trace of that unmistakable 80s and 90s Pizza Hut smell lingering in the air. read more

The food was better than the first time days after it opened but still not very good sadly we love Chinese food! Was hoping for something better than this. Sadly im learning to cook Chinese food for my family at home instead of wasting money here! Please hire a new cook or cooks!!!! read more

Are you like me? Have you been eagerly waiting for the reopening of Shanghai? Called them to order my usual favs. No they said you need to come here and order. OK so I drive there and go inside and their shorty little buffet table is the first thing I see. They ask me one Sir? And I say no I don't want buffet I want my order cooked and they say sorry we don't do that anymore. So why didnt they tell me over the phone it's just a shorty little buffet now. What a joke. They won't last a year without their regulars who ordered what they enjoyed and came to pick it up. I spent 40 every week for 15 yrs there. Not any more and until they return to what they were they will never see my money and I suggest you people who loved your ability to order your favs do as I do and complain and fo not use the shit little buffet. read more

Good food, fast service . Did not eat in. We did carry-out. But what I saw of restaurant was clean. The order was correct. Hot and yummy when it got home. Very happy read more

This was the best local Chinese place for years and years. Now. It's terrible! Do not waste your money! They have changed Cooks or owners or something. The food used to be amazing. Now it sucks. Gross egg rolls, tasteless noodles, squishy chicken. read more

I have never seen a buffet at that location (the old pizza hut ) you can dine in its OK but nothing to rave about .

Each time we visit there has been Great food, Friendly service! We visit often. It's one of our local favorites.

Awful. I rarely leave bad reviews, but my husband and I got the orange chicken and fried rice, and chicken fried rice. A lot of food, but tasted like absolute bunk. How do you mess up Chinese food!?! Terrible. We will not be returning. read more

The shang hi has really stepped up their game. 3 years ago I wouldnt eat here, but now it is so much better. No waitress dine in, but carryout. The food is delicious and hot. read more

The food is ok but no table service. You order at the counter then take your food to the table. Doesn't look very busy

I went here a couple weeks ago for lunch carry out. (Early Dec. 2021) Got War Sue Guy and LoMein special, egg rolls and Crab Rangoon. It was absolutely delicious!!! Waiting on carry out right this minute. Will advise. read more

Shanghai - a plate of noodles with meat and vegetables - Chinese Near Me - Corydon, Indiana

food is great! we only do to go-so unsure of inside dining. the crab ragoon is super yummy it's a MUST HAVEA

Food is terrible, service terrible and so on. Don't waste your time or money. Not one positive thing to say about this place. Frozen Chinese dinner would be 100 per cent better. read more

Over salted, greasy, and wholly inedible. The Lo Mein was swimming in oil. The vegetables where soggy and not quite fresh. The beef was chewy. The dining room was dated and in need of a good scrubbing. However, the service was friendly and prompt. So, there's that. read more

Good food for the price and area..they get the orders right and are ready in about 20 minutes.

This is a small family business with decent food and not much atmosphere. It's in a converted fast food place with a make-do attempt at décor. Food was absolutely typical American Chinese. Service was a 16-year-old with no clue about being an effective waiter. Pretty busy on a Saturday night. FYI, the I-phone mapping gives the wrong location for this place. It is actually north of downtown. read more

Shanghai - the exterior of a restaurant at dusk - Chinese Near Me - Corydon, Indiana

Cashew chicken, sesame chicken, beef lomein, mo shu pork, and fried rice. The worst Chinese food we have ever had. Bland, rock hard, to burnt it was terrible. read more

This place has a lot of bad reviews and it's a shame. It's not anything fancy, that's for sure. If it was more expensive it'd have 3 stars. But the prices are good and the food tastes great, usually. They occasionally drop the ball but we just politely ask them to fix it and they always do. We don't carry out however. It must be eaten hot. read more

This place had the absolute worst "lunch buffet" I've ever seen and the food was barely edible. I would not return here for any reason. The only point I can say they get from me is for the young woman working the cash register. She was sweet and kind. She was a pleasure to speak with as well. Unfortunately, her personality doesn't help the taste of the food.... Overcooked, extremely salty & just blah. I'm a Harrison Co local and would drive to Louisville before eating here again & that would be a long drive for me! read more

Terrible place I ordered the pad Thai chicken The chicken in the dish had been frozen and then microwaved It tasted like rancid rubber Very very dissapointint read more

Basic small-town Chinese restaurant with dependable dishes like sesame chicken and pork and green beans. Went for the $5.95 lunch buffet and was pleasantly surprised. Food was tasty and fresh. Great service. Really liked the teriyaki chicken. read more

Shanghai - Tasty green beans and pork with teriyaki chicken, noodles, and an egg roll. - Chinese Near Me - Corydon, Indiana

This place is a causal Chinese sit down restaurant with your usual Chinese food options. I usually get lo mein with steak or vegetables and have never been disappointed. The wonton soup is good as well and the crab ragoons are good but very greasy. Overall, a good place to eat but nothing spectacular or different. read more

I love this place. Their Crab Rangoon & Egg Rolls are the best. Cheap prices and friendly service.

The decor of this place is that of an old outdated Pizza Hut building. Get takeout to avoid staring at it. Comparable to the Americanized Chinese food that you find in the frozen section of a grocery store. The shrimp tastes almost like hotdogs for some reason. The fried offerings are edible. If you don't feel like driving outside of Corydon for a Chinese craving, this'll do (but barely). We really need a better Chinese buffet restaurant in this town. read more

Fried rice was nothing more than white rice with soy sauce on it. Sweet and sour chicken size of marbles. Egg rolls were awful. I got over an $8.00 lesson. Never going back. read more

Normally, this place has amazig food, and I would recommend it to anyone. But today, there is no flavor to the General Tso's Chicken or Sweet n Sour Chicken read more

We went here for dinner tonight. The server was absolutely attentive and welcoming. The food was delicious. The Mongolian beef was fried perfectly, the Orange chicken was perfectly sweet and tangy, with real orange rinds, the pork and tofu was tender, and everyone, including my hard-to-please kids, devoured the crab Rangoon. We will be back. And we're gluing to try the takeout next time as well, as it seemed to be the popular thing to do. read more

I was on my way to McDonald's for a couple McDoubles when I thought to myself, "Eh, I'll try the lunch buffet here. I want a variety." This place is a hole in the wall. Went to the bathroom to wash my hands and it was dirty. The sink was low and covered in dirt. The way the paper towels are dispensed kind of grossed me out but whatever. I could already tell, when I walked by the buffet, that I should probably have went with McDonald's. The selection was terrible. About 8 unlabeled dishes. There was: Some crusty looking cabbage. Some runny --what is it?? General Tso's? I can't be sure. Very dry looking Sweet and Sour Chicken. Green beans and some kinda pork? Very bland colored noodles and fried rice. Some nasty fried potatoes which appeared soft and not crunchy. Egg rolls. Was it bourbon chicken? Very runny looking and not sure. My main beef: Where the hell are the crab rangoon? Every self respecting Chinese joint serves crab rangoon on their buffet. NOPE. Not this place. You lose a couple stars on this point alone. So I started eating. I tried a little of everything which was easy to do with such a small spread. It was edible but not very good. The food left a slimy film in the back of my throat which I had to cough forcefully to clear up. The most potent flavor in all the dishes was the grease and it was very very bland otherwise. The chef did come out frequently to inspect his fare with pride and wipe down the buffet. He kept it stocked. So I give him props for this. Long story short: I should have ate McDonald's. read more

I don't know if I go to the same restaurant as some of these other people that give it one or two star reviews. What they describe is very far off from what my experiences have been. The food and service are both amazing, and I always enjoy eating here. The lunch buffet is consistently great, and whatever I have to eat has been cooked and seasoned perfectly every time I've been. I love this place and always look forward to going. read more

This business is very poor sharmis we called before we came we got there and to our unexpectations, when we walked in there was no Buffet Karma and it plainly states on their ad Buffet all-you-can-eat but as I said we called before we went, and they said yes there's Buffet, and a waitress was reluctant to even wait on us, we asked her why no Buffet you said only between lunch or something like that, did not offer some seat or a menu just in case we wanted to stay. And because we called before we went we were told All Day buffet and all you can eat so we drove down there 52 MI from Mitchell Indiana just to eat there and try out their food. Even there at on Google says all you can eat and open till 10 p.m. but says nothing about only lunch buffet to me that's as false advertisement and it is as their name is we were shanghaied into coming down there read more

I'm a local, and of the three Chinese restaurants in town, this one has the best tasting food by far. It is a small family-owned business. Mom takes orders, Dad is the main cook, and daughter is the waitress. They have a lunch buffet every day from 11 AM to 2 PM for less than $5.50. For dinner, you order from the menu. Not fancy, but if you want great tasting Chinese food, this is the place to go. read more

I live just in town. The food is typical as said below but good none the less. The buffet is the best inf you can make it between 12-2:30 pm. Sometimes the service is lackluster but it's always fun talking the the owner and her daughter. read more

Just wish they were a little more consistant. Ever since the new owners took over, my food is hit or miss. And I would call ahead and order for pick up, service inside can be incredibly slow, as they are working on take out orders. Placed an order over the phone and was told it would be ready in 25-30 minutes. Upon arriving at Shanghai to pick our order up there were several others in the restaurant waiting for orders as well...an hour later we still did not have our food. Out of the three waitresses only one was working while the other two ran what looked like a day care in the restaurant. Yes. Kids running around screaming while we ate, on a Friday night. The Mongolian beef was tender , but nothing more than thin beef drowned in soy sauce. Above all, the crab rangoons were good. And the non authentic waitress was nice. read more
