I had in mind what I wanted but couldn't seem to find it anywhere. The moment Stephanie saw my ring she went in the back and brought out the most perfect wedding band. It's what I imaged but even better. She also helped my fiancée customize a ring online. I have very small fingers (3.5) and having rings sized that small can be an issue sometimes. Went to Make a large purchase for A loved of mine but attention was short given. although there were a few employees seemingly doing nothing while I browsed. I made eye contact with them to let them know that I wanted help without being rude but they just looked at me and walked away. Stephanie was amazing! I was on a road trip from Colorado passing through Tennessee. I tried to stop at every Shane Co along my route but I was either too early or just too late when I passed by. This was the only location that was open when I passed by and I'm so glad I decided to stop. My engagement ring needed a cleaning. Stephanie approached me within two minutes of being in the store. She cleaned my ring faster than I've ever had it cleaned in Denver. I've also asked the employees in Denver multiple times if they could fix the discoloration on my white gold ring. My ring has also been worn down in places and isn't the same thickness. Stephanie explained that I needed to get my ring replated and that there was a way to replace the thinner section of my band. This is all covered by Shane CO's warranty. Denver employees have told me it's normal and it doesn't need a service. But Stephanie could see exactly why I felt it needed work done to it. Because my girlfriend and I have never really thought about what KIND of ring she would like, we came to Shane Co. together. The gentleman that helped us was very nice and knowledgeable. To get them replaced the representatives are so kind and timely but they always tell me it's because I sleep in my ring? I have asked several girlfriends if they have lost diamonds due to this, and they also sleep in their rings but this NEVER happens to them. First, may I say that I'm operating from the mindset of someone whom is overly budget conscious (read: cheap), and therefore extremely jaded towards most retail sales people. What an AWESOME experience I had at Shane Co. of Cool Springs, TN. Paula Tucker was our sales associate. It wasn't until the end of the whole shebang that we learned she was the (one of?) Assistant Store Manager. Her interest in the history and process of diamonds and jewelry making was an instant win for us, as we are both severe geeks who like to know how things are done. We didn't have to wait long for service, we didn't have to haggle or negotiate down any unexplainable fees. Everything was black and white, based on a tier system, and very legit. My boyfriend (soon-to-be fiance) and I were looking to get my grandmother's diamond removed from her bridal set, which I'd inherited earlier this year, and have the gold melted down into a band. Though Shane Co. does not offer custom design, they WERE able to facilitate using the diamond for a new setting. The diamond was carefully removed, cleaned, and weighed. Care was given to the fact of the sentimental value of the ring. There is even an insurance buffer in the labor price should something happen to the diamond. If something happens, THEY REPLACE IT FOR IT'S FULL VALUE. My concerns with handing over an heirloom diamond valued at roughly $3k were put to rest. Paula took her time with us, was knowledgeable, accomodating and professional, and very respectful of our limited budget. She was cheerful, friendly, and approachable: Something you don't really find much these days, especially in her field. Their selection is average, something a previous post mentions. But I felt their selection was diverse enough to meet the needs of most, if not all, whom go there. I am a simple girl, and wanted a simple ring. The ring I wanted needed a little adjustment, and without question they were able to do so. Once done with the engagement ring process, we returned to the floor to price out wedding bands. Paula, once again, attended our needs. Less than half an hour later, we found rings that were decently priced, and met our needs. I knew absolutely nothing about engagement rings when I started my journey. After navigating through the forest of shiny things, I came out on the other side with a very satisfying experience at Shane Co, and a very happy fiancee. I started by blindly stumbling to every store in the spectrum from Kay's to Tiffany's. I quickly learned that just about any jeweler can do ANYTHING, but they are almost all BEST at something. In my case, I just wanted to take the diamond from the old band and put it on a new band/setting. Hands down, the best place I found for this was Shane Co. They sell all their jewelry in separate pieces (diamonds, bands, etc), whereas most places sell the diamonds/bands together. I realize that anywhere can do what I wanted, but since that is all Shane Co does, they had far better prices. And they were incredibly helpful. When I took the old ring to Shane Co, they took off and appraised the diamond, polished it up (30 years old and it looked dang new), then put it on the band I chose no problem. Then they took the gold from the old ring and applied the "meltdown" value to the new purchase. They did tell me that I would've probably gotten a little bit more for the gold had I gone to one of those "Cash for gold" places or possibly even the right pawn shop. But, it made things super easy to do it there and I figured that much convenience was worth an extra 50 bucks. Plus I appreciated their honesty. Once I bought the band, they had the diamond set in it and ready within a few days. It came with free cleaning for life and all that jazz that most places would have as well. Every time I went in there, the service was extremely attentive yet not overbearing- a wonderful change from other jewelry stores. After an exceeding long engagement ring debacle with a different chain, we finally stopped in to Shane Co. because, well, we had nothing to lose at that point. Our first sales rep was Matt, who was awesome. Seriously, not having them work on commission is a HUGE thing. We were debating between a white gold setting vs a platinum setting, and Matt was completely unbiased in giving us the pros/cons of both, even through there was a $500 difference. He was personable and patient, and didn't balk when we told him we had to come back to complete the order as our refund/diamond had yet to come back from the other store-from-hell. He just wrote us down and wished us well. We came back a few days later to complete the purchase, and worked with Sammy, who was equally kind and helpful. We're both so, so happy with my ring, and love that they do free cleaning/resizing whenever you want. Not to mention that even including all the setting fees, the resizing of a second ring, and tax, it was still considerably less than the other ring-that-shall-not-be-named. For the past 7 years my husband has shopped there for Valentines, birthday, Christmas, Mother's Day, Anniversary etc. Whenever I go in with him to look around or get my ring cleaned everyone is super nice. I had passed SEVERAL salespeople standing behind the counter doing nothing while I wandered and waited for the guy helping me to return from the back with what he went to get for me to look at. Then I notice him helping someone else. I start to get upset and want to leave without even getting the earrings for my mom. My husband is more practical and flags down one of the other people standing around doing nothing. She comes over and says "I'm sorry, I thought you were being helped." I reply with "So did I". In December 2008, not really knowing what I was looking for and honestly trying for a surprise for my soon-to-be-fiance (now wife), I ended up here with a friend of hers who was in on the whole surprise proposal thing. There had been an operation at her work for roughly a month to find out ring size and the style that Wife of the Future wanted and I had enough information to go and hopefully find what I needed. The sales associate they provided me realized I had next to no clue, with giving info like "don't want a ring that will snag in a cat's hair" and "shiny?". I'm told from the friend it was a masterpiece of watching me completely out of my field of expertise. We looked around for a bit, and there was the ring. Don't know why it was it, but it was.
