I left it with the man operating the kiosk and returned 15 minutes later as he requested me to do so. When I got back, he told me that the back of my watch "must be welded shut" as he couldn't open it up to replace my battery. Then he told me that he had thought about "cracking through the crystal on the front of my watch" to try and access the battery area that way, but didn't as then I would have to replace that. I was really disturbed that he would say something like that, even if he meant it as a joke. This watch was a gift to me from my Mom and means a lot to me. When I returned home I discovered that he had damaged the clasp of my watch's metal bracelet as he must have bent it while trying to force open the back of my watch. I took it to my local Tag Heuer dealer today where they examined it and informed me that part of the clasp was bent and would now have to be replaced for $135.00. All because this man obviously didn't have to correct tools to open up my watch the right way and damaged it while trying to force it open. If my review can serve as a warning to just one person, that would make my horrible experience worthwhile. And before you offer, Dakota Watch Company ~ NO, I do not want to email you to discuss what happened here as I will not be returning, ever.
