FYI- PLEASE DO NOT PARK WHERE YOU SEE ANY RED SIGNS ON WALL/ BUILDING!! My vehicle was told from 72 E Lynn St, Columbus, Ohio 43215 on 5/24/2026. First I asked the restaurant if it was okay to park in the lot across from them and was told yes. When I cam out the tow man was about to tow my brother car! I asked why I car was told and was informed that someone called. The tow man stated that he came inside the restaurant and asked them to make an announcement and was told no, which later we found was a LIE! And to add insult to injury, the tow man called the Gahanna location of the restaurant, but you're towing a vehicle from downtown Columbus, does that make sense, NO! SHAMROCK TOWING company is a big SCAM! People do not come downtown to park illegal to be towed! DON'T LIE ABOUT COMING INSIDE A RESTAURANT! And on the paperwork from the tow company, it shows a TOTALLY different ADDRESS than where I was PARKED! Not sure who regulates tow companies but SHAMROCK needs to be LOOKED INTO!! My son was in an auto accident and the police called for a tow for him as the car was blocking traffic. The tow truck driver was comforting to my son, gave him the idea to get his stuff out of the car and explained the next steps. When a young kid is in that situation, a little compassion goes a long way. We went to the lot the next day to finish clearing the car. The lady in the office answered our questions and the gentleman that accompanied us to the car reminded us to get the plate (he even removed it for us). Being that we were in a horrible situation with an accident and the car likely being totaled, every Shamrock employee we encountered made it a little better by being friendly and helpful. read more

My car had a critical check engine warning surprise last Tuesday. I have a AAA membership but was quoted 7 hours and was told they would see me at 1 am. I called around to some other companies that quoted 3 hours and $150. Shamrock was 90 minutes and $85. This company, its employees, and customer service are quite simply dirtbags. Shamrock was doing some kind of work in front of my neighbors house today. Their truck was parked illegally, perpendicular to the road blocking our driveway and the road. My wife politely asked the driver how long they would be working because we were not able to back out of our driveway. The driver was horribly rude. He was just nasty. He patronized and attempted to intimidate my wife. When we called the office to complain about the drivers's rude behavior the manager would not take the call and the office staff couldn't care less. I realize towing services generally deal with rude and unhappy people. We did nothing to deserve such treatment. These people are simply dirtbags. read more

I had a great experience with Shamrock Towing today. It took about 35 minutes for the driver to arrive. (He was great, courteous, professional etc). Upon arrival, it took about 5 minutes to load my car, he made sure it was secure and safe. My 63, is a classic, the driver was aware that I was a bit nervous but he was just fantastic. My husband's truck broke down at his job, I went to rescue him and get a tow truck and my car overheated and I lost all my antifreeze - so we then needed 2 tow trucks (it was a very bad night!). We called Shamrock to request towing, then had to call back and request a second tow truck. They were so accommodating, the dispatcher, Harvey, sent us Rob with a flatbed truck and he was able to tow both vehicles even though each were going to separate dealerships for repair. Harvey was so helpful, and Rob, the driver was awesome! He sent several pictures to me following the tow, pictures of our vehicles in tow, pictures of the key drop and information, etc. Rob went way above and beyond in providing service to us- he made it the best towing experience my husband or I ever had! read more

I truly cant believe a "Family" owned business is this deceptive. After towing my car for being "abandoned" in a church parking lot for 4 hours after it was parked. ( parking there for 6 plus years) I received the worst customer service and then found damage on the front end of my car. TrashCompany I live in osu campus and I was blocked in by a truck with a trailer on it... I called Shamrock who is the company parking lot has for its Towing... And when I got a hold of somebody she immediately transferred me in the person I talked to said they could not tow it because it's Easter Sunday... Now i can't get out of my house. I called back and they said they were calling the cops on me because I was harassing them fart trying to remove a vehicle behind my car in a parking spot that I pay for. This is the most outrageous company ever spoke to I know all of these places are about money but they're too lazy to even tow somebody from a place that they aren't supposed to be. But they have the time to call the cops on me for not being able to leave my own house. Customer service is trash and my landlord needs to get a better towing company read more

Dirty company. Avoid at all costs..... They do indeed accept kickbacks and will tow legitimately parked cars. Getting your car out can be quite a pain as well. Will break into your car and steal items as well, this has happened to me. read more

My Starter died on my Lexus LS460L last Summer. I called Shamrock to have the car towed to a mechanics shop about 15 miles from my house. Tow Truck driver was polite and seemed like he really knew what he was doing. He had my car loaded on the Trailer and secured in no time. I followed him to the repair shop and he carefully unloaded the car and moved it into the garage without a problem. Great Job Shamrock. read more

I was in a pinch and needed a tow truck after my 3 year old son and I got stranded when my brakes went out. After calling and providing my info to the operator a truck arrived about 15 minutes later. The driver was nice and got my van loaded in less than 5 minutes. Because I was having my van towed back to my house he gave me and my son a ride home. Because of the way our driveway is positioned I warned him that it would bee hard to get the van in the driveway. However, he took the time to position my van so it wasn't crooked in the driveway. Although it was a crappy way to start my day, and $60 I wasn't planning on spending, I was glad we didn't have to wait forever to have someone arrive. read more

Shamrock Towing started to tow my car from a lot that had no visible sign. The only sign was located at the edge of the lot NOT near the entrance. The restaurant I was eating at told me that they keep putting signs in the lot to warn customers not to park in the lot and SHAMROCK KEEPS STEALING THE SIGNS! The driver was very rude and told me the only way I'm getting my car back was if I paid him money. Absolutely unprofessional experience when dealing with their service operator after I had been towed from my own lot. Everything I said was completely disregarded and I was given bogus reasons for them towing me. After being literally laughed at and hung up on, I decided to wait to call and speak to another operator. Because they actually listened, my complaint was heard and they resolved my issue quickly. However, my experience with the first operator was so horrid and degrading that I am absolutely unable to trust this business if those are the standards the employees are held to. read more

Had an experience a few years back where my fuel pump went out and I was stranded. SafeAuto had these guys come get me with a requested flat bed. Didn't have cash on me, but the driver was cool enough to stop by the nearest PNC for me. He even went in to pull cash out himself. Price was fair due to SafeAuto covering 10miles of that(towed about 20+miles). Now I'm going to give them a call again because the same car has a broken serpentine belt. And this time SafeAuto won't cover any over it because my car is under 2000 model, something new and unfair if u ask me. read more

We called several places and Shamrock had the best price. They told us it would be about an hour and they got there in 15 minutes. The driver Brad was very friendly and it didn't take long for him to get our car on a rollback. Hopefully we won't need them again but would definitely call if I needed a tow. read more

Some years ago, sporting a NC license on my car, I was lured into an illegal parking space downtown by someone collecting a $2 fee in a legit parking lot. I was then told to park in a space adjacent to some apartments. When I pointed out that there was a sign on the wall for residents only, he told me that the sign was only for the spot in front of the sign, not for the entire row of parking spaces. Silly me, naive as I was in a new town, I believed him. An hour later, we found our car towed, and if it wasn't for some passers-by who saw the car being towed, we would never have been the wiser. We walked through the dark to their location and then were held up by their ATM machine for cash to get the car out of the impound lot, at an exorbitant ATM fee ($25 if memory serves). After researching online, I read that some refer to this business as "scamrock" and that they had a history of hiring people as "parking lot attendants" to scam drivers into parking in illegal spots so that they could be towed. Since their services call for only cash payment, I had an idea to call them up for their FEIN (federal ID number) so that I could issue them the appropriate 1099 for the cash I paid for their services! If enough people did that, they would eventually garner the eye of the IRS! I will never, ever use their services. read more

This company is run by assholes who will lie and avoid the truth at all cost just to get their money. I have a small Dodge Dakota that does not do well in snow or ice and when I was attempting to LEGALLY park in my complex's parking lot last night it got stuck on ice on an incline and literally slid into another complex's lot while I was inside writing a note to put on the windshield. Realizing that there was no hope of driving my truck off this lot while the ice was still present, I called Shamrock Towing to tell them what had happened, and that I planned to move it when the sun came up and the ice melts. The lady I talked to actually seemed nice, she got my full name, phone number, and type of car, and told me that I should be fine as long as I wasn't blocking anyone in that would call to have my truck moved (There was NO ONE that would call, and no one that actually called them). She told me that if they were going to tow my truck they would call me and give me a chance to move it or pay the $75 to have them pull me out. When I woke this morning to move it, the truck had been towed. I called them to ask why nothing the girl promised me was upheld and what I was now supposed to do since they had my car. The man I talked to offered no help and said there was no note about calling me before taking the truck. It wasn't until my mother took the liberty of calling them that they admitted to receiving the note from the lady last night and offered to release the truck at half-price. Also while on the phone they said the owner was not there, which was a lie because as I found out later, the man I talked to before my mother called WAS the owner, they deliberately lied to me about getting the note from the lady last night and deliberately lied to my mother about the owner being there. They obviously had the upper hand, I needed my truck and they wanted my money. I paid the $73 to get my truck, drove it home, and decided to call them and see when the owner would be in (At this point I was under the assumption the owner wasn't there due to what my mother told me). They immediately gave the phone to the owner , and that's when I realized it was the same guy I talked to this morning. I called him out on his lies and he said the lady last night said I was going to move the truck within 2 hours. ANOTHER LIE, I couldn't move it in two hours and I wouldn't have told the lady I would if I couldn't! Believe me, I was less than 10 feet from a legal parking spot, if I could have moved the truck I would have. The conversation with the owner ended with him being very immature and defending his lies to save his name, not to mention this direct quote from him "I'm sorry you can't drive and slid your truck into an illegal parking lot" tl;dr: These people lied to me and my mother 3 times and personally insulted me in order to keep the upper hand and get my money regardless of the correct protocol I followed in order to peacefully get my truck unstuck without being in anyones way. read more

Shamrock Towing sit like vultures waiting on prey in the OSU campus area. BEWARE of them! They will hook up and tow in a few minutes. They have "F" rating with BBB and do not respond to complaints. The company also has a class action lawsuit for price gouging! I asked my son to pick me up so that we can take left over food from an event at Eddies Georges Grill. He parked in the lot directly behind and came in the side door to help me grab food that was boxed up after the event. When he came out with the first load they had already hooked up the van and the driver was calling us to tell us that he was going to tow us. Literally less then 5 mins and they charged 48.37 to release. To top it off I had rotator cuff surgery and was not allowed to carry any of the boxed food items out so that my son could not wait with the vehicle. The driver said "I am only doing my job" If I ever really need a tow I would never use them and do not recommend them! This company is full of liars. When you call to speak with the manager they tell you he is out of the building and should be returning shortly... when you finally do get ahold of him.. He will lie too... I called to get help with an abandoned vehicle and was told by secretary to talk to the manager who was available.. I called back another gentleman said I couldnt talk to the manager because he was still unavailable and the lot is full and they cant come and get it anyway... I called a third time and was finally able to talk to the manager who then informed me that they can no longer get abandoned car titles from the bmv and that they couldnt help me... I called the bmv and they said that yes they do give abandoned car titles and they did not understand why the towing company was giving me such a hard time about coming to get it..... I would not trust this company... they seem shady to me.... read more
