A neighborhood bar with an "everybody know your name" vibe. Simple food to go with the Bud Light, but the BEST is the microwave pork rinds!

Great staff, friendly people. A small bar, but with a homey vibe. Dirt cheap drinks, attentive bartenders. What more could you ask for?

Town Bar - Great neighborhood bar. If you leave here a stranger it's your own fault!

Mostly extended weekends when everyone is back in town to see family and friends. During the day, week, and a lot of weekends, it's just your typical less populated dive. They only accept cash, so you have to be prepared for that, but the drinks are ridiculously cheap and they don't skimp on the pour to make up for it. Cocktails... not really their specialty. This place is used to beer drinking regulars and people who want their liqueur straight up. They'll make you one, just don't have high expectations because this is not that kind of bar. There is a pool table and bar food. No full kitchen so the menu isn't overly impressive, but booze is more of their specialty. The staff is older and can be kind of crotchety, but that's usually if it's one of the crazy nights that all these young kids randomly show up. They weren't that kind of bar, I don't think the staff knows why these kids keep coming back, and they are slowly learning to embrace it. If you're a laid back person, looking for a cheap drink and a random conversation with a stranger at the bar, this is your kind of place. I've met some really off the wall folks and the regulars can keep you entertained for hours if you strike up a conversation with one... don't expect half of their tales to be true, but enjoy the ride.

Stopped into Grand River Brewery - Jackson for the first time last night, expecting a quick dinner,…read moreand left really impressed. The standout was the service. Kristina, the manager, personally stopped by, introduced herself, took our drink order, and gave us some helpful menu recommendations. That personal touch really set the tone. Food was excellent. I had a build-your-own burger that was awesome, and we also had the Rachel, which was fantastic. Drinks were equally strong: beer, cider, and a margarita flight that was a lot of fun. The stout was especially memorable because it reminded me of Lion Stout, which I have not seen in years. That alone gives me a reason to come back. Between the hospitality, the food, and the drinks, this ended up being much more than a simple meal. Also appreciated hearing about their Beer Mug Club and Sunday brunch. We will definitely be back.

I scoured the web for the best sounding wrap I could find and finally set my sights on Grand River Brewery. I ordered a Santa Fe wrap to-go, got there before it was even ready and was home to eat it within 5 minutes. To my dismay they had left the spicy ranch off the wrap. It was dry and unpleasant and that was an unfortunate tell of what was to come. It was accompanied by an odd tasting pickle, which particularly hurt my heart because I am a woman who loves a good pickle. This next part was especially jarring because the ambiance of the restaurant really seemed like they would have good fries, I'm sure they would be good fresh, but the ones I found inside my to-go box were not that. Sad, hard, dry fries that tasted and felt like they had been sitting out for hours. Truly disappointing. In summary, twas certainly a mistake to treat myself to this TWENTY ONE dollar meal that didn't even include a drink...21 dollars for a horrible wrap, horrible fries and a weird pickle. For that price I was really expecting the best wrap I've ever had, I could not have been more let down. My Venmo is grace-shoemaker- if you're feeling sympathetic to my experience. Thanks for tuning into my blog.

Had wanted to try this place for years, but never were passing through Jackson at a time they were…read moreopen. Last Saturday we finally were, so in we went. It's a very inconspicuous location, squeezed in between two truck depots. The building looks--inside and out--like it could be someone's workshop. At least if someone hung cool original art on their workshop's walls and set up a pool table. When we stood in front of the bar looking at the draft menu, a couple sitting nearby offered to scooch down so we could get barstools. Friendly folks=good start. We tried samples of a black IPA and rye IPA. Both were good, but we went with the rye for a pint. Nice and hoppy with just a little sharpness, good body. Had a bit of a drive in front of us, so we got a crowler of the black to go. Interesting beer selection, with two strong Scottish ales and many IPA variants. Plus alcoholic fruit slushees if that's your thing. We're mulling a run to Jackson purposefully to sample more of their offerings.

They had music bingo that night. I sat at the bar and watched some football and read some. They offer snacks for $1 (peanuts, pretzels, popcorn and more). They encourage you to bring in food which I like since that lets them focus on the beer. Bar tender was ready for me and served well.
