So dangerous first of all. This is where you trust your little baby's??? I've been taking my Yorkie there for nearly two years. They know my dog pretty well and I'd like to say I know them well enough. But there is a guy in there, who's the only guy you'll ever see (usually handling the front desk) that can be very nasty. I was talking to one of his groomers once when picking up my dog and he basically told us to shut up because he couldn't hear the customer he had on the line. Really? That put me off but I decided to continue to use them since they were only charging me $40 which was $10-$15 less than everybody else. But this week WAS THE LAST STRAW. I was sick so my mom took him in on Monday afternoon and when he got home and I saw him he was behaving strangely, not wanting to be touched and shaking, and his haircut was ridiculously short. The guy said that my dog had been fidgety and it's the same haircut we always get. Well, asshole, first of all my dog has NEVER gotten his hair cut that short and if you DIDN'T LITERALLY SHAVE MY DOG UNDER THE ARM IM SURE HE WOULD HAVE HELD A LOT MORE STILL AS HE HAS FOR THE PAST FEW YEARS. He's only gotten more passive as he's gotten younger and he knows you! And I know my dog! He's not fidgety! I promised I wasn't going to post a poor review or the photos until I had a resolution but I'm just so furious that I can't wait for a reply. Do not bring your dog here!! I don't think any business that doesn't have the time to train their staff in safety and patience with animals deserves to be in this business. There are plenty of other businesses that are in this line of work with a foundation of genuine care for animals. Your company does not showcase that in the least. Hiring workers who leave animals hurt after being in your companies care is negligent on your part. I do not recommend this establishment at all. read more

This place is an absolute nightmare. The american lady with black hair at the front desk literally cursed me out when I tried to make an appointment. She told me she was fully booked and that me and my ugly dog can go somewhere else that takes " people like me ". I am absolutely mortified from this place, and would not reccommend it to my worst enemy. I dont know who they hire but clearly it is extremely rude people. They do a very nice job on my Bichon, she is almost 15 yrs. and she can be a bit difficult, they never complain.

Caring. .... Yes, we do big dogs!! I need an emergency apt. NO problem will tomorrow be good? Yes Falcon is trimed and he has his 'Mohawk'. I didn't realize that under all that hair Falcon has dry skin... Severe, the owner/groomer took the time and caring to give Falcon an oatmeal bath to sooth his skin. I loved the info-exchange of information seasons before and after as well as when I called to check on Falcon. No poops or peeing. He seemed his happy self and even a little preoccupied with the grooming area. He ran back as if to say bye before coming home. read more

The groomers were on time, friendly and professional. They took the time to ask me exactly what I wanted for my dog. My 90lbs, big baby, golden retriever was so happy when she left! She entered with mats on her behind and tail when she arrived. They took the time to brush out the knots and didn't just cut it off because it was difficult. Just started bringing my little guy here since his usual place started cutting his hair like crap. He came out of this groomer looking good and smelling great. The staff is friendly and they actually called us to let us know they had to do a different cut on him which I appreciated. Their prices are cheaper then most places too. A fantastic grooming spot for your 4 legged family member! My dog has always been nasty towards groomers but absolutely loves going here. Marina is our go to girl, she is excellent with dogs and always does a great job. Just like a fellow yelper Caterina C. mentioned, I LOVE that you have to ring a door bell to come inside, especially that its right on Hylan Blvd I do not have to worry about my dog running out (which happened before at another groomer). I've been bringing my Pups here for , I guess, several years nearly. Always friendly and accommodating. Yes, the owner/Gentleman may seem a bit gruff at times... at times. But so am I. I scare people just with the way I joke. Doesn't make a bad person. He really is quite OK. I've spoken with him on most visits and he is a nice man. Sincerely! The Pups are always happy [ if I may project on them some human attributes] to go here. I ask them if they want to go to the Spa and they begin the dance. The staff are always cordial, [and not because I'm threatening ;-)]. I had wanted to give a friend a gift certificate, which they weren't actually offering, and they bent over backwards to a do this for me. My pups are the second most important concern in my life. Thats just honest. Shampooch staff treat them accordingly. Accidents happen. Its unfortunate. Its sad. There are three sides to every story... Her side...your side.... and somewhere in the middle, the truth. I don't know the full story behind that lady Catarina's Pup, but I do know that it was not the norm and I never worry about my Pups here. Even Buddie who get a little " snotty " sometimes. I'll actually be calling in 10 minutes when they open to schedule an appointment. Don't let one or two incidents put you off Shampooch. They're the best in the area! read more

When my dogs were puppies I brought them here for their first grooming and was extremely disappointed when it was finished. They did not appear to be comfortable staying there and some of the staff members had attitudes. Good location, but poor service. read more

Please don't take your dog there if you love them. I would never under normal circumstances write a negative review about anyone's business but I feel compelled to warn anyone who may be considering bringing their dog there. The people there were very nice until I called to let them know my dog had to go to our vet because they shaved, burned and cut my dog testicles, back, and nipples. The "Manager's" response was, "we are not responsible because he was matted and was moving around too much". How about showing some concern and at least asking if he was ok now? She didn't even pretend to care. The vet had to put him on prednisone and hydroxyzine to calm the discomfort that he felt. Not to mention they shaved him down so close that i will have to put sun screen on him to go outside for the next couple of weeks. I called to let them know what had happened, not wanting anything but to let them know for next time. Her response proved to me that she didn't give a damn about my dog. NOT PROFESSIONAL AT ALL. SHAME ON YOU and the owner for not getting on the phone to hear me out. read more

So far, so good. I have only been there once so far, but the groomer listened to how I wanted my shih Tzu groomed and did exactly what I asked. I had a long time groomer from her home who gave it up...trying to find a place that I love just as much is difficult. They do not cage the animals and seemed very sweet in caring for my dog. This post is written on the behalf of my parents as well as I. My two dogs Romeo and Juliet we had been having them groomed and boarded because it was convenient for several years. Because the owner was so nice to my parents and siblings we continued to use them even though we did have some concerns . We noticed when we boarded the dogs they were not walk as promised because every time we would pick them up they would urgently need to urinate or defecate. These are extremely well trained house broken dogs. They would urinate 3-4x at least and defecate about 10 seconds after picking them up. We did complain to them about this. They had given out a card that gets stamped every time you get the dogs groomed. One day the dogs had earned one free grooming but after grooming the dogs, the owner of the store stated they no longer honor that even though there was no message or change in the store sent out identifying this. They also increased the prices without notifying regular costumers-so not only was the grooming not free as it was suppose to be on top of that they wanted to up charge. When my father asked where is the sign showing the change in prices the owner stated they didn't have time to update, after grooming. The costumer should be informed prior to the service not after. I wouldn't suggest using this place if you want people to be forthcoming regarding pricing and honoring previous club cards read more

Just relocated to ny and this place was recommend to me for my chipoo Lola and I am so happy it was. We have never had a dog that needs to be groomed on a regular bases and weren't sure what her hair should look like...
