I had never been to the town before and was pleasantly surprised with all of the little restaurants on the main road in town. The Inn itself was perfect, and clean, and quaint in this magnificent 150 year old building. We stayed in "Grampa's Room" which was wonderful with a very large and comfortable bed, but the best thing was the breakfast which surpassed anything we had ever had at any B&B before. The owner actually made the bread for the scrumptious French Toast served to us in an elegant dining room that I could have stayed in forever. This is a new hotel…read morelocated next to a gas station with a convenience store and a Burger King restaurant, so there's some traffic that comes through - both cars and tractor trailers. The hotel was fairly quiet both inside and outside, though it's near an area where truck drivers park to rest and the occasional loud truck will roll through about every hour or so. It still had a new construction smell. Not necessarily paint, but I could faintly smell wood throughout the hotel. Initially I had trouble finding the front entrance. There was patio furniture and a grill on the front patio that made me assume it was the back of the hotel; however, there was a ride share pick up sign and I could see the luggage cart through the window which confirmed it was actually the front of the building. The front sliding door was also hidden as it wasn't facing the parking lot, it was more so perpendicular to the building. The check in counter is immediately in front of the second sliding door, which doesn't leave much room for people to walk around when entering and exiting the hotel. The only thing that I strongly disliked was the shower. There was no door or closure, so the water from the shower head got on the floor outside of the shower no matter in which direction the shower head pointed. Due to the absence of a door, there was a constant cool breeze even when standing under hot running water until the bathroom was completely fogged up. Additionally, there was no vent to prevent the mirrors from fogging up and to reduce the humidity in the room. The breakfast was a typical free lobby breakfast - coffee, juice, water, fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, cold cereal, scrambled eggs, sausage (pork and turkey), breakfast sandwiches, breads (bagels, English muffins), and a waffle station. It was fine, but nothing special. I really liked the room itself and the cleanliness of the hotel. Since it was new, there weren't a lot of guests or lines at the breakfast stations. It was a pretty decent stay, but the modern twist of the shower design needs improvement.

This is our 2nd weekend to stay at this lovely cottage (used to be a barn) which has wonderful sleeping accommodations for many people. It's like a large studio with a kitchen, desk, dining area, bathroom, living room and bedroom. There's a TV with Direct TV, a stereo system, a bookshelf with books, DVD's and CD's. If there are more than 2 people staying, the owners add a twin bed. There's also a futon and a sofa sleeper for 1. In speaking with the owner, she really wanted to make this place as comfortable as can be and has added many amenities to make your stay comfortable. The refrigerator has jam, butter, peanut butter, fruit, yogurt, granola, orange juice to get your morning started. She also provides guests with bread or muffins in the morning. Of course there is coffee or tea ready to brew. When you wake up in the morning, you open up the blinds to a beautiful yard which you can wander around and enjoy the arbor swing. I wish I had discovered this place sooner because it's a wonderful and relaxing place to stay.

While essentially a single space, it is nicely divided into a separate bedroom area, a roomy living area and a comfortable kitchen. A large bathroom and a second bedroom complete the layout. The entire cottage is nicely decorated and is also very neat and clean. Both the bathroom and kitchen are well equipped and user friendly. A variety of snacks are provided. What also makes The Barn special is that it is definitely dog friendly. We always bring our small dog with us and he seems to enjoy the experience as much as we do. There is a basket of dog toys near the front door, dog treats are provided and two dog bowls are located in the kitchen area. Thus, both human and canine guests are warmly welcomed! Not only is the cottage itself a wonderful retreat but it is located on a beautiful piece of property that is very nicely landscaped and easily accessed. A well constructed concrete walk leads directly from the parking area to the front door. At the rear of the house, a sliding glass door opens onto the large backyard which slopes gently down to a beautiful meadow. Guests are invited to walk the property and we are always happy to do so. Despite the bucolic atmosphere, The Barn is very conveniently located. It is within a couple of miles of downtown Lewisburg, Bucknell University and a variety of stores and restaurants. Finally, the the owners, Tanya and Fred, are friendly, accommodating and clearly committed to providing their guests with a wonderful experience. I can honestly say that we've thoroughly enjoyed each visit and always look forward to our next stay. I wholeheartedly recommend The Barn at Pheasant Ridge to anyone visiting the Lewisburg area. That said, I am a huge history buff so staying in a hotel that was originally built in 1834 under the name of the Kline's hotel was both a gentrified dream and history tour rolled up in one. The building itself has been very well maintained and preserved, and upon entering the lobby I feel like I have stepped right back in time to the 1850s. One of the nicest things they had at the check-in was the timeline starting with the 1834 owners all the way up to the current owner who purchased in 2017. Decor is reminiscing of the Victorian era mainly. I had a delicious pork Osso buco meal at their pub and restaurant, watched the game and had great dinner. Location is wonderful, just a couple miles from Bucknell university- and walking to all the quaint locally owned shops and stores. The things I would request- new towels, some updates to the courtyard rooms, quicker check in service and I wasn't quite sure where to go to get to my room initially. Great team that works there.

Great staff, 24hr lobby staff, the usual sundries for purchase (chips, cookies, soda, you know the drill). They have a very large lobby with plenty of seating, AND a pool table. This room is also where they serve breakfast. Breakfast was good, eggs, sausage, yogurt, cereals, and a twist on the usual waffle maker they have a pancake machine. It appears to have a small learning curve as I watched a few people trying to figure it out before the attendant came over to show them. Parking is plentiful, and well lit. Rooms, the rooms are nice. Basic, but they do have a mini fridge, and the bathrooms are good size. Plenty of lights in them as well. Bed was super comfy, but then that's objective I know. Would I stay here again? MOST DEFINITELY. I'll likely be back next year. I've never stayed in a Tru, but this one but them on my radar, I'll be considering others during my travels. Let's see if they are as nice as this one.
