Upon arriving at the property you are greeted with a feeling of warmth and peace. Everything from the porch with hanging swings to the inside décor makes you feel relaxed and at home. I stayed in the Lighthouse Room which is the perfect size for two people. The full size bed and fluffy pillows are comfortable and you'll sleep well. For breakfast Georgia makes delicious meals. Tuesday morning's menu consisted of a delicious egg soufflé, pancakes, bacon and sausage. There are other items from which to choose such as fresh fruit and cereal. You'll thoroughly enjoy conversations with Georgia and Reid, who are the perfect hosts and will make you feel like family.

This was on our list of places but we called around to several other inns first. They were all booked so we ended up here, what luck! The Inn is a few homes down from Main Street Bloomsburg which has several restaurants and other activities to choose from. It is owned and operated by George and his wife (didn't catch her name). The place is large with several common rooms, snacks, and a wrap around porch. There is a side door and you get a key so you can come and go as you please. Our room had a comfy bed, large bathroom, and direct tv. In the morning George cooks an amazing breakfast and I can almost promise the other guests will join you. Overall, I would highly recommend this to parents of Bloomsburg students or anyone looking to get away for the weekend. As a Knoebels enthusiast I was not sure how far this place would be and it turns out it is super close. Don't think twice about staying here!

As sometimes can be the case, finding a place to stay can be tough. This time it was impossible with a swim meet and weddings in town. I stumbled across The Stained Glass Inn while searching the web. Reserved a 3 night stay and hoped for the best. It was perfect. This old historic home is beautiful and decorated with gorgeous antiques. The architecture and history of this town is fascinating. Our host, Chuck, was so accommodating and added to the charm of this endearing small town Americana experience. Sunbury has an actual downtown area with a beautiful park and springtime flowers were everywhere. Dinner at the Chestnut Street Inn was an unexpected surprise. We were welcomed like locals to this casual eatery that served up a downright gourmet meal for $12. The lobster & shrimp cakes dinner was out of this world. What The Stained Glass Inn is not? A fancy, stuffy B&B with everything new and sparkling. It is not large, only 3 rooms. It is not a sleepy town, the train goes through and logging trucks pass by on trips to the mill. It is not a town of quaint little shops to spend too much money on touristy trinkets. It appears to be a town with a struggling economy filled with hard working good people. The accommodations couldn't have been any better if I had made reservations. While I retrieved my bags from the car (I had suspected that I might not be able to make it home that day), Chuck, one of the owners, tidied up my room. Chuck then gave me a tour of the second floor where I would be staying. The decor had a homey but modern sensibility. My room was well-appointed and included a gas fireplace, plenty of towels and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast the following morning was filling and delicious. On leaving, Chuck carried my suitcase to my car. I had to walk across the street to make an appointment and he actually stayed to clean the snow off my car and brought the keys to me when he was done...above and beyond the call of duty! I highly recommend the Stained Glass Inn and plan on staying there more often.

This is our 2nd weekend to stay at this lovely cottage (used to be a barn) which has wonderful sleeping accommodations for many people. It's like a large studio with a kitchen, desk, dining area, bathroom, living room and bedroom. There's a TV with Direct TV, a stereo system, a bookshelf with books, DVD's and CD's. If there are more than 2 people staying, the owners add a twin bed. There's also a futon and a sofa sleeper for 1. In speaking with the owner, she really wanted to make this place as comfortable as can be and has added many amenities to make your stay comfortable. The refrigerator has jam, butter, peanut butter, fruit, yogurt, granola, orange juice to get your morning started. She also provides guests with bread or muffins in the morning. Of course there is coffee or tea ready to brew. When you wake up in the morning, you open up the blinds to a beautiful yard which you can wander around and enjoy the arbor swing. I wish I had discovered this place sooner because it's a wonderful and relaxing place to stay.

While essentially a single space, it is nicely divided into a separate bedroom area, a roomy living area and a comfortable kitchen. A large bathroom and a second bedroom complete the layout. The entire cottage is nicely decorated and is also very neat and clean. Both the bathroom and kitchen are well equipped and user friendly. A variety of snacks are provided. What also makes The Barn special is that it is definitely dog friendly. We always bring our small dog with us and he seems to enjoy the experience as much as we do. There is a basket of dog toys near the front door, dog treats are provided and two dog bowls are located in the kitchen area. Thus, both human and canine guests are warmly welcomed! Not only is the cottage itself a wonderful retreat but it is located on a beautiful piece of property that is very nicely landscaped and easily accessed. A well constructed concrete walk leads directly from the parking area to the front door. At the rear of the house, a sliding glass door opens onto the large backyard which slopes gently down to a beautiful meadow. Guests are invited to walk the property and we are always happy to do so. Despite the bucolic atmosphere, The Barn is very conveniently located. It is within a couple of miles of downtown Lewisburg, Bucknell University and a variety of stores and restaurants. Finally, the the owners, Tanya and Fred, are friendly, accommodating and clearly committed to providing their guests with a wonderful experience. I can honestly say that we've thoroughly enjoyed each visit and always look forward to our next stay. I wholeheartedly recommend The Barn at Pheasant Ridge to anyone visiting the Lewisburg area. While we weren't disappointed in the motel, it was a little expensive for what you're getting. The grounds, the lobby, and the exterior are a little run down. We paid for a king suite but quickly found that the AC unit in the bedroom didn't work, so we ended up in a queen suite instead. Everything worked fine in the queen room. The bed was comfortable but all of the pillows were ancient and should definitely be replaced - thinking about how many people have slept on them kept me from sleeping soundly. I also doubted that the pillowcases had been changed because they were all really wrinkled. There was a thick, heavy duvet on the bed, unnecessary in August, so we kept the air conditioning set low all night. The bathroom was good - clean, good water pressure in the shower, decent towels, and no drain backups. The owners were very friendly and responded quickly when we contacted them. I understand that hotels/motels in Lewisburg can charge higher-than-expected rates because of their proximity to the Bucknell campus, but in the dead zone of summer, a room at a hotel of this caliber ought to be charging about $80-90 per night, and everything ought to be guaranteed clean. Expectations for a motel at this level were essentially met. All in all, for a roadside motel, I'm giving them 4 stars.
