What an amazing find in Bright! We were in town for the weekend to see the autumn leaves and I…read morepopped online to see if there were any vegan options in town. I wasn't expecting much, so I was quite surprised to find that Bright is home to What You Eat, an all-vegetarian cafe with heaps of vegan options. When we walked in, I knew right away I would like the place. It has a light, airy, cheerful atmosphere, and the place was packed so I knew the food would be good. I splurged. I had a liquid gold turmeric latte, the vegan schnitzel parmigiana (made with Bio-Cheese), and a vegan cookie for dessert. My boyfriend had the house-made vegetable and barley broth with garlic toast. Both of our mains were on the "lunch specials" menu and not on the regular menu, so I'm not sure how often you can actually order them, but both were DELICIOUS. My parma was easily the best vegan parma I've ever had (much better than the one at the Cornish Arms in Melbourne), and my boyfriend's barley and veggie soup was really hearty and tasty as well. Price-wise, it did seem a little on the expensive side, but given this is a country town and ingredients like Bio-cheese are not readily available, I can understand the pricing. Service was super-friendly even though the place was packed for the autumn festival. Highly recommend if you're in Bright and looking for a great place for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. Or even just coffee!

Service is always good but can be slow if they re busy with take away as well. You need to book as it's always booked out. This is a must eat place for us when in Bright from Melb.

I use inverted commas because I am a frequent diner at Laksa King so a $17.50 laksa isn't very cheap but I sucked it up because I'd heard some great things about Suganya's. Well, didn't my bubble get burst almost instantly?! I asked for a chicken laksa with extra veggies and some rice noodles. I got laksa soup, three pieces of chicken, and a half a handful of soggy, limp veggies that I wouldn't serve to my worst enemy. My friend ordered vegetable satay stirfry. She got an oyster sauce stirfry. The only saving grace was that the two boys both ordered Pad Thai and they really nailed that one. It was delicious. Considering the price you pay to 'enjoy' the good from Suganya's ($70+ for all four meals!) it really was a disappointment and I won't be making that poor choice again. I hope that any other Yelpers out there have a better experience than us!
