I'm from San Jose, and unfortunately our last Shakey's closed many years ago. So anytime I'm in the LA area, I make sure to stop by a Shakey's. Eating at the Shakey's in Torrance brought me right back to my childhood. The pizza tastes just as delicious as I remember, and the mojo potatoes and chicken are still incredibly good. On top of that, Luis was super hospitable and made our visit even better. I only wish this Shakey's was in San Jose. read more

We've always heard of this place but was a nice experience. Inside is really clean and the parking was easy. The menu can be affordable if you order a simple pizza. The buffet was also had a wide variety of food to choose from. I was happy we all didn't have to order the buffet. The oldest loved the unlimited buffet but not sure if small kids eat that much anyway. Maybe stick with the simple pizza. The menu was very impressive considering it is a simple chain restaurant. Kids really also wanted to play in the arcade. It is such a fun place to be for the kids. The staff was very attentive when we asked for a box and stuff. I came here over the weekend for the Lunch of Bunch buffet and had a really good experience. Every time I come to this location I really enjoy the food and service. Also the buffet price is $16 on weekends and $15 on weekdays which you can't beat for ayce pizza, chicken and lots more. And the best part which I was unaware of until reading yelp reviews is that you can customize pizza toppings and they'll make those pizzas for the buffet! Just ask them to make it with your desired toppings and then they'll put it out there! This location is also kept very clean. I've always wondered how a pizza joint could garner such praise. After finally eating here, I think I get it, and it's simple: food is solid, place is clean, service is GREAT. Been here twice now - once for a soccer team "party" and once for lunch buffet with my son. The boys had a fun time playing in the arcade. What struck me was when it was time to redeem for prizes. They hit a busy patch, so I went up to the cashier who apologized for being so busy and said he would get to us in a few minutes. (green flag) To my surprise, another employee sitting nearby said he wasn't clocked in at the moment, but he would help us. How awesome is that?! The lunch buffet is solid. For one adult, one child, plus a drink and taxes, it came out to about $30. One word of warning: the food is kept pretty hot, so the tongs can be hot, and the pizza crust can get a tiny bit hard if it's been sitting out for a while. But I figure that's way better than having food be lukewarm or cold. Includes salad (also pasta and potato salads), spaghetti with small but yummy meatballs, a variety of pizzas, and grilled and fried chicken. We have decided to come to Shakey's because we have not done so in a long time. We enjoyed our visit to this location because the guys who working at the time we were here were all very attentive and helpful to the needs of the customers who were there then. Great job to all of them, and most especially, Luis and Francisco who seemed to lead the team there that night. The foods were good and true to the familiar Shakey's tastes that we missed and craved for. and most importantly, we were relieved that the amount we paid for good amount of food we had was very reasonable. Im writing to formally complain about an incident that occurred at your restaurant involving what appeared to be unfair and excessive charging of disabled adult customers. During our visit, we observed that certain charges applied to disabled individuals were significantly higher than expected and appeared inconsistent with the pricing provided to other customers and or charging higher price for less food. This situation raised serious concerns regarding fair business practices and the equal treatment of patrons. Disable individuals should be treated with dignity, respect and fairness. Any price discrepancies,misleading charges, or practices that result in disable customers paying more than other guests are unacceptable and may be viewed as discriminatory. Such actions can create an environment where vulnerable members of community feel taken advantage of or unwelcome. I respectfully request that this matter be throughly investigated, including a review of the charges assessed and the circumstances surrounding the transaction. If an error occurred, I expect appropriate corrective action, include reimbursement of any improper charges and measures to prevent similar incidents in the future. Please provide a written response detailing the findings of your investigation and any actions taken to address this concern. We ordered their family meal that comes with a large pizza, mojos, 8 pieces of chicken. We called in the order and didn't have to wait that long for our food to be done. Love their service and how efficient they were cause they had a bday party there so I know for a fact they were busy. The area was clean and so were the bathrooms, there's a lot of places you can sit if you have a small party or group with you as well. The place is clean and the staffs are friendly, but the pizza on the bunch of lunch was too dry and it looked like it's been sitting there for a while. Me and my family only ate 1 pc pepperoni . Options were cheese, pepperoni, sausage pizza, vegetarian pizza. They were all dry, the cheese was hard and like cardboard. We just ate salad, chicken, mojo. 45 mins later the manager baked a combination sausage without pepperoni. That was the only time I got the fresh pizza, but I was almost done eating. The mozzarella cheese was fresh and stringy. I don't know the standard procedure, but they need to improve the quality and need to refresh the pizza every 15 mins or so. Had a great experience here at Shakeys. I brought my family that was coming from out of town and they treated us like family. My family was amaze by the way we were treated and enjoyed all the food. Everyone was very welcoming. A special shout out to Luis T. Exceptional service, very amicable and great customer service. We also had Elizabeth who brought us our food and was very tentative and asking if we needed anything else. She would periodically check on us to see if we were doing good. I placed an online order approximately one hour prior to the scheduled pickup time. Upon arrival, I was informed that my order was not yet ready and was asked to wait an additional 10 minutes. Unfortunately, this extended to a 30-minute wait. When my order was finally prepared, I was told that it was missing one chicken wing. I was offered a drink as a substitute, or alternatively, asked to wait an additional 16 minutes for the missing item or accept a different piece instead. At that point, I felt I had little choice, as I had already experienced a significant delay. After further discussion between the staff member and a manager, a chicken wing was ultimately provided. He told us about several specials and options despite us already having made our mind up to order the $19.99 large (1 topping pizza) and six pieces chicken wings. We paid an additional $1 for a second topping (pepperoni/sausage). The pizza was delicious and the golden fried wings were moist and flavorful. Our family has loved Shakey's for generations. We usually dine at this location since the kids love the mini arcade. They recently revamped the branding, cleanliness, arcade, and service. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. They were diligent on checking in and clearing the table once we were finished. I have been to this Shakey's many times before, but it has been about 6 months since the last time I was here. The difference between then and now is incredible. There are two things that must be rated. #1. The food was greatly improved. Everything I tried was between very good to excellent! The fried chicken was far better than usual. The pizza was really, really good. Most especially, the Hawaiian Pizza was superb! The crust was very, very thin and the Pizza was loaded with cheese, ham and pineapple. I'm telling you, this food was good. #2 everyone working inside was just as good, if possible, better than the food! At the register, we were greeted by Genavive Trujillo. If the food was just okay, her bright smile and endearing friendliness would be enough for me to return to this place. Before I left, I asked to speak with the manager. I suspect everyone thought I was going to complain about something, but that was not the reason I asked for the manager. Moments later, Luis Tellez introduced himself and asked how he could be of assistance. I told him wanted how good everything was, both the food and the people. Everything! I understand that you cater to families with children. But it's not always a child's palette that partakes the food. We ordered several pizzas for a party of 10, with 4 children. Included a couple of salad bars to liven up the scene. Not sure where we went wrong but several in our party were sick afterwards. Not sure if it was the salad bar or the pizza but it was something at your establishment. Please take time to concentrate on the quality of the food you are preparing and serving and not so much on quantity and profit.
