What a super fun place and the servers were great. We sat to the side of the counter and I enjoyed watching the servers all interact. You can tell they really enjoy working together (no matter how busy they got) and work together well. It impressed me enough I wanted to call it out on my review. The kids ordered chicken tenders/fries and burger/fries. Both said they really enjoyed the items and they did eat all of their food. Being there on Saturday, the special was a mac & cheese burger so I opted for that. It was a generous portion of mac & cheese on the burger so it was a lot more food then I could eat. It was delicious and I did enjoy it. Before we left both kids decided they wanted a milkshake so we ordered one for them to share (since they also said they were full). Came in for lunch at 11:30 on a Wednesday and glad I decided to finally stop in after driving by it for a while. Menu was much more elaborate than I expected. The staff was very energetic and vibrant. Nobody was acting like they hated their job and even the new employee that was being trained was being helped by a few different ones which means a lot to me as a customer because how everyone treats each other is ALWAYS reflected in the food. Maybe not immediately, but eventually. The boring exterior kept me from stopping by earlier, but my Cowboy Burger was great. Crinkle cut fries were adequate enough, I'll be back! Certainly a large ice cream selection was available, and the Cookie Dough was waving at me, but I couldn't justify it this early. Next time tho! One of my coworkers recommended this place during my work trip to the Palmetto region. Visiting a "Blast From the Past" where the music is playing, the atmosphere was hopping and the milkshakes where flowing. This place brings you back to the 1950's where burgers, fries, milkshakes and ice cream was the norm There is definitely no lack of decor in this "joint" pictures of the 50's memorabilia's decorate the wall, diner seating, ice cream polar atmosphere, checkerboard patterns, and records displayed. The service was a big hit! No craziness with roller skating, lol but quick and polite. The food was fresh and reasonably priced. The fries where deliciously golden and tasty along with a side of tater tots my co worker ordered. The Philly cheesesteak was probably one of the best I've had in Florida. The meat was tender and seasoned to perfection. The chicken and waffles was mouthwatering and crisp! The chicken sandwich was cooked well and topped with an unforgettable sauce that was delicious. I wasn't a big fan of the deep fried pickle however, if I could recommend, I think most people like it in small slices. Just my preference. Seating was limited as the place is large, but the crowd exceeded the capacity. Just shows how good the experience is. Great basic bar food you get exactly what you expect a great vanilla shake and cheese curds were had by all. I also had a Philly cheese steak that was exemplary. highly recommend it though be careful and wear your sunscreen out on the deck. They put a lot of effort into the old diner motif. Very easy access no matter which direction you're heading on 301 and as someone that usually has a larger trailer behind them it's easy to park and get in and out of. Wow! Very surprised at the high quality of burger here. To start the fresh veggie toppings totally made this a meal: they didn't skimp on the onion and gave me every ring as a layer of crisp white onion with every bite. The tomato was fresh and thickly sliced. There were many thick cut dill pickles as well. Other than the light layer of Mayo on the bottom bun, all this Burger was a full sandwich of well cooked paddy and toppings that almost didn't need condiments. Last but not least, the crinkle fries were delicious. Very good potato the crispy ratio. I ordered online and picked up my food when it was ready. Great food, great staff. My husband and I have been here a couple times since moving to the area and I can't say enough good things about them. The Philly Cheesesteak is one of the best we have had in a long time and we also shared the Reuben sandwich. Honestly, I wish I had kept the Philly all to myself :) On our next visit, my husband ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich and if I wasn't enjoying my Patty Melt so much I would have traded with him. All burgers come medium unless you specify your choice. I messed up my PM by not ordering it medium-rare but it was still delicious. We also ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes, they were very tasty but a tad too oily without enough breading but that won't stop us from trying them again. The inside is nice, clean and can fit more people than possible, it's magic I guess. The staff are very curteous and attentive and even though they don't "pool" their tips they all help each other out which means no one is waiting for "their" server to bring their food out. When the food is ready, someone, anyone will bring it...no sitting under heat lamps. Haven't tried the ice cream or shakes yet but heard they were fantastic and they are on the list for next time. read more

I have been wanting to try Shake Station for over a year now and I just never got around to it. On my way home today, I remembered about it and decided to give it a shot. Between the reviews and the packed parking lot, I was hoping for amazing casual food. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed. I have a good / bad habit of ordering too much food quite often when I am trying a new place. First, the hand scooped ice cream milkshakes are fantastic ! I also thought the hotdogs were especially good quality. After that it became disappointing. I ordered (don't laugh) a chili cheese dog, a kraut dog with mustard, a cheese burger and chili cheese fries, oh and of course, a hand scooped ice cream chocolate milk shake. I will admit that I didn't eat it all (only because I didn't love it). Otherwise, I probably would have. Because of a mix up on the part of the server, I got some things I didn't order also. It was the table behind me's order, which was somewhat similar. The fries were kinda dry, burger was somewhat dry, the toasted hot dog buns were dry. Seeing a theme here ? The chili had very little "chili" flavor. They used the cheese whiz cheese sauce type stuff instead of grated cheese. I could go on but you get the point. In spite of the mess up on the part of the server, the staff (including my server) were all incredibly nice which was the best part of the experience. I will probably give Shake Station another chance at some point but I suspect they are successful and don't see a need to change. Oh well, can't win em all. read more

What happened to the food? I moved to this area a little over two years ago. Found this place and loved it. Food portions were awesome and found myself going there monthly. Just went there and ordered my favorite Philly cheesesteak. I was told I should order it with all the fixings or it would look small on the bread. I ordered just steak and cheese and both were they right. Where did all the steak go? The steak got lost in the bread roll. They definitely cut back on the portions. Very sad. The fries used to come out hot everytime. This time cold and overcooked fries. If they cut back on their portions and food then I guess it is time to find a new cheese steak location. Meal and service was good but didn't realize everything has an up charge. We knew changing the fries to tots was an up charge, but didn't realize getting the daily special shake to go was a $1.00 up charge each. Also when asked about something spicy for lunch the small cup of jalapeños was an up charge too. The lunch was average but kinda surprised about all the up charges. Not sure if we will be back but will definitely ask more questions about extra up charges if we do read more

Great casual meal, great menu with many choices and of course the milkshakes are fabulous. I had the recommended cheesesteak and it was large, made with real meat (not steakumms) and very good. Hubby had a burger and it was also great as were the fries. Only issue we had is inside seating is limited and they let the people waiting for Togo orders to stand inside waiting. Husband wanted a hot fudge sundae as part of our weekly splurge meal so we ended up here since it's close to home and we didn't want to deal with UTC traffic (Jeni's is my go to place for ice cream). This was a very old fashioned diner type neighborhood place. Ice cream was good- not up to Jeni's good but fine. Husband was happy with the hot fudge and they added marshmallow cream at no extra charge. Prices were very reasonable. We saw some food coming out that looked and smelled good. Love this place! The staff is very friendly. It's a great place to take your family and enjoy a diner atmosphere. They have hand dipped milk shakes that are delicious, crinkle cut fries (yum!) and generous portions. For those that can't eat wheat the apple pecan salad with grilled chicken is an excellent option.
