Chicken sandwich
Alex O.

Very flavorful chicken. Super juicy. It's hard to make chicken breast this juicy, but they nailed it. They serve it with perfectly cut raw onions, tomatoes, lettuce, and a little mayo. The chicken sandwich is excellent, and it comes with super crispy sweet potato fries.

This is a very typical old school mom and pop family diner. We went for dinner. Menu had typical family restaurant fare... meatloaf, chicken fries steak , meatloaf. Pretty big menu actually. The breakfast stuff looked good but we were there for dinner. Got a gyro sandwhich (I think the owners are Greek?) and a chicken fried steak. Also had cold beer. Bathrooms are outside ( but connected to the building) I'd prob eat here again if we were hungry and didnt want to cook. I'm def going to come back to try the breakfast By the way, we were there for Thurs night trivia ( friends invited us) ... so we ate dinner first. The trivia was actually very fun... so they might be worth an extra star

This place is near where we are staying for a few days. It's a great breakfast place. Starting with good coffee. I had a breakfast of eggs, hash browns and a piece of really good blackened fish. We also had a half order of biscuits and gravy with potatoes which was too much but really tasty. Good service and great food.

Great service and food. Some of these pictures don't do it justice

Great service and food. Some of the pictures on here don't do it justice but has a genuine diner experience.

We have been here a number of times now and have had enough different things to do a review. This is an early breakfast and lunch place. They are open from 6am to 2:30pm daily. We have been here for breakfast and lunch. For breakfast, we have had pancakes, corn beef hash, eggs with potatoes and bacon, chicken fried steak and biscuits and gravy. All have been good. For lunch, we have had fish and chips (real good) and the chicken rice soup (favorite) I recommend and will definitely return to Popi's. The only downside is they aren't open for dinner!

It's ok. Honestly, I've had wayyy better, but I've had worse. It's fine and it's the only restaurant in the area.

It is ALWAYS a good practice to ask the server for dessert recs because odds are, they're going to suggest something you'd never consider and thank goodness she did. She suggested the Pistachio Ricotta Torta and the amaretto cookie gelato, so we got both of those as well as some chocolate gelato. I am not typically an amaretto girlie, but that gelato was arguably the best I've ever had. Never had anything like it before, truly phenomenal. The chocolate was great too, really some of the better gelato I've had, but that amaretto cookie flavor with the little cookie pieces... truly DIABOLICAL!!!! The torta was also so delicious!!

Located in The Vinoy hotel, this spot is an experience from the beginning! A stunning bar dominates the space as you enter, complimented with a mix of art deco, modern, and lux finishes. Seating for every group size makes this perfect for a drink with a friend, dinner with the family, or a larger gathering! It surprisingly felt approachable, not ostentatious. Service was top notch throughout our dinner, providing an elevated experience from start to finish! Enjoyed the Early Retirement to drink, which was a slightly cherry/fruity version of an Old Fashioned. The Whipped Ricotta was my favorite dish: creamy, sweet, nutty perfection! The meatballs were tasty, yet failed to stand out as anything original. The Radiatore alla Vodka was delicious with perfectly al dente pasta and a rich sauce! The Lacquered Brick Chicken had the PERFECT sauce for those of you that love umami and I appreciated the mushrooms paired with the perfectly cooked chicken. Really great spot for a special occasion or elevated experience in the area!

Food was pretty good, but the service was absolutely horrific…read more First off, we waited at the table for over 10 mins without any service. I had to go remind the hostess that we were there and waiting. No apologies. When the server, Michael, came over he said "I'll go get you waters since you guys just got here." No. Actually we got here 15 mins ago and you know that because you walked past us twice. Then he dropped a water glass on the table lol. Ok, fine. Took forever to get a water and we had to ask for a drink menu and ask for a kids menu. I guess they didn't see the stroller or remember that they brought over a high chair. Whatever, we can move past it. What I really can't get past is that EVERY SINGLE thing we ordered was MISSING something from the plate. Cornbread appetizer was cold when it arrived. Can't say that I ever received food in a cast iron skillet that was served below room temp. Ordered the house salad... had to send it back because it was missing the cheese and nuts. Ordered a bowl of soup... they brought out a cup. Ordered the kids French toast... they forgot the side of bacon. Ordered the tacos with fries.... They forgot the fries. Ordered the eggs Benedict.... They forgot the side of potatoes. They had to be doing it on purpose, right?! You can't be a wanna be classy restaurant on the water and be open on holidays and be THAT incompetent, can you?? Oh well. Their loss. Won't be back and would not recommend The Riverhouse to anyone.

There is outdoor seating as well however. The drinks were all great and I wish I could remember what they were, but the bartender did a great job and they were all delicious with generous pours. I do remember we tried the Bad Bunny and the Paloma, but I ended up switching to regular margaritas which were well done. Great experience with a twist!…read more Food 8.0 Vibe 8.9 Service 8.7 Overall 8.4 This place definitely has his own theme and vibe and it sticks to it. A straightforward menu gives a decent variety and the chef delivered on the flavor. We had the egg Benedict the Gudda grits, and the (not so) French toast. Overall, the food was delicious, but I was extremely disappointed with the "French toast" for some reason, the chef opted for not doing an egg/milk bath for their French toast, which to me is a grave mistake, who wants to dry French toast? This liberty could be excused, and tolerable for the sake of creativity and innovation, IF it was openly, shared on the menu, or by the server. However, this came to a COMPLETE surprise to me AFTER ordering and receiving it. I've never had DRY French toast, nor do I ever wish to again despite the tasty toppings and well executed cinnamon butter cream, it was still not an enjoyable experience, especially if you're expecting classic French toast. That said the eggs Benedict was phenomenal. The pork is perfectly cooked. The biscuits are light and fluffy. And the sauce was immaculate. The Gudda grits surprise me while not being creamy in the same way of grit, I've had in the past, these retained their grit structure, but it kind of melted in your mouth, providing that creamy texture and they add chopped bacon and a sweet I would guess type of reduction in just the right amount to balance the flavor of the Gudda. I do wish they had sausage and hash browns. But it's not that kind of place. My last complaint would be in the potatoes that come with the Benedict. Whatever other option, they have picked those get anything, but those ours came undercooked, and they refried them for us, and they still were just below average which for a place like this. I expected more. Overall, not a bad place. The coffee was phenomenal. I had a dirty Matcha, and it was perfectly executed. Prices aren't terrible for what you'd expect from downtown St Pete at a fancy place, so I was happy. Service was good and friendly. After I expressed my dissatisfaction with the French toast, the manager came over and offered his apologies and remove the item from my bill, even offered to bring us something else, and to have a beverage to go to make up for it. However, I was at the end of our mail and I was ready to get going with the rest of my day, so I said thank you and we departed. Overall, I will not come back for French toast but that eggs Benedict. I would definitely come back and try something else as well. Give it a shot. Just DONT get the French toast. If you like normal French toast.
