I've visited Shake Shack in other cities and always thought everything was delish; for whatever reason, this location tends to have the greasiest tasting food... and not in a good way. My daughter loves the shakes (super thick) and cheese fries, and I still really enjoy the chicken nuggets - but the burgers have missed every time. This location also suffers with poor parking (a problem for the whole shopping center), so ordering ahead for pickup is a pain. Pro tip: drop your teen and loop to pick them up to avoid parking. read more

GREAT juicy burgers, crispy fries, tasty grilled hot dog... and ok shakes. We get Shake Shack maybe once annually, and this place was very good again. The Cowboy BBQ Pickle Burger was so juicy... melts in your mouth. The fried pickle was underwhelming, a sit and the bun were a bit soggy. Otherwise it was satisfying! I recommend adding cherry peppere to any entree, as they are a tasty mild spice add-on. The hot dog was nicely grilled. Their lettuce "wraps" are very messy and not crunchy enough to hold form. It becomes more of a salad lol, but saves calories so oh well. I got the Banana Muffin/Oat shake and it was fine, but nothing I'd return for. Shake Shack has always reminded me of Culver's, outside of the lack of abundant options on how the custard is served. I stopped in for their limited time Oreo/Waffle Shake and it was so delicious. The custard was smooth and the crunch of the additives was so satisfying. Service was prompt. I only waited 4 minutes for my food. I also grabbed a bacon burger and fries. Everything was great, the restaurant is on Fritz Farm shopping plaza so be prepared to park and walk over. They have indoor and outdoor seating, which is nice option should you want to people watch or enjoy the weather. read more

We really enjoyed the quick service and the large open concept of this location. The restaurant is centered in the Fritz Farm and so many cute shops are all around it. While we waited for our food our kids enjoyed the outdoor family area while we sat by the water fountain waiting for our mobile order. The staff were welcoming when we came in to pick up the orders. We came here specifically for shakes and lemonades. This was by far the best lemonade! We always try lemonades at every chain or sit down and we truly felt these were most refreshing. We even came back the next day just for that! This is easily a 5-star place. At this point, every time I'm in or through Lexington I go here. Part of me longs for this chain to move into Louisville but then part of me wants it to stay a treat when I'm down that way. The only thing that makes it 4 vs 5 is cost. Sometimes they have specials. When they do, I order those every time. This past summer, they had some kind of Carolina, fried pickles, bacon, and a few other things on a burger; PERFECTION! I hope it stays or comes back every summer. I always eat in so I can't speak to how well their food travels. I like the atmosphere. There are usually a few people eating in but while eating, there are always people coming in to pick up their meal and head out. Recently, they installed 3 or 4 terminals to order from. Other restaurants should take notes from Shake Shack because this is the way you make a self-serve point-of-sale terminal. Every time I've visited this location, the food has been top notch. The burger always tastes hot and fresh. I also feel like you can truly taste everything that goes into the cheeseburger. The ingredients complement each other so well. The service is fantastic and there is hardly ever much of a wait. As an added bonus, it's great to sit out in the open outdoor space. Maybe I came here in too excited, but I don't care, we don't have Shake Shacks in Jax, so I was excited when I saw there was a Shake Shack near my hotel. I opted to come here for lunch after I had a break in meetings. Upon entering I saw a huge menu. I love a good burger, and I love a burger that's thinner in nature...more like a smash burger versus a really big thick burger. I decided to get a double regular Shake Shack burger, a side of fries, and one of their seasonal milkshakes, a hot cocoa milkshake. When I was ready to order, I waited there a minute and then realized that you order at the kiosk versus someone taking your order. Once I placed my togo order I had a seat and waited. About 3-5 minutes later my meal was done. I headed back to my room. Once I opened up my meal, I was excited to see the burger was thin, the ends were a bit crispy, which I like and I dug in. It was delicious. It had the right amount of meat to bun ratio. I wish they had included the side of Shake Shack sauce like I requested at the time of ordering, but they didn't. The fries were OK. I'll be honest, they were fine, but I tend to like shoestring fries. My milkshake was delicious. Extremely underwhelming. The root beer to ice cream ratio is laughable. The blob of ice cream was melted before I sat down. I was able to get into the promotion IF (note the if) I placed an order for 4:30 p.m. at 11:30 a.m. One advert states that. Now, I will question the actual customer service. Why is this place shutting mobile orders and online down from 2-5 p.m. or as it approaches 5 p.m.? If the promotion states 2-5 p.m.; then YOU HAVE TO allow online to be on during those hours or else it is false advertising. It has to be accessible to customers, as an option. If not, there has to be a text sent out stating "for so and so reason, we are unable to take online orders at this time" or maybe just a "We are not participating." As an example, Penn Station had a similar promotion, but did not range the hours. So if one placed the order within an hour until 8 p.m.; you could not do it online. No fault there because you are allowing the customer to access the promotion up until one hour from closing time. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The customer service at this location is horrible when it comes to ordering. They are not doing online and there is no way to reach anyone by phone. I had to reach out to corporate ( I almost always reach out to corporate instead of the franchise to make sure everything is standardized among the brand) to see why they would not be when they are doing a current BOGO shake promotion. They may lose a ton of business between today, August 1st and the 31st, if they decide not to pursue this promotion. read more

After seeing so much about Shake Shake, I decided to treat myself here one day this summer when I was sans child. (The whole day really was a treat -- I did some shopping and tried some new places without a my dear, whiny toddler!) Ordering is easy, the menu is displayed clearly and each item is separate. There are no combos. I think I got the cheapest thing I could -- a burger and fries for nearly $8.00. After being so used to fast food, it seemed pricey but I guess it isn't that bad, considering the area and the quality of the food. Friends, that burger. Today was my first time trying a Shake Shack. The newness apparently has worn off here in Lexington. At 11:30 on a Wednesday there was no line and only about 5 patrons total. By the time I left there were about 20 people. I got the Hot Chicken sandwich which was very good. The outside was nice and crispy and it didn't have too much heat for me. They dust it with a cayenne blend that seasoned it just right for my taste. The slaw and pickles were fresh and crispy as well. I also ordered the cheese fries and they are very good as well. Honestly no matter what city I'm in, Shake Shack always fail to disappoint! Now depending on how hungry I get, I either go for the single or double but I always get the bacon cheeseburger (without peppers because it's super spicy) with a side of their regular fries. The staff was super nice and you're now able to dine in, eat on the patio, or take food to go! Once I get my order, I always ask for extra shack sauce on the side at the counter. The shack sauce is similar to a big mac sauce taste (but better) in a chipotle mayo texture. They don't charge extra for sauces and aren't stingy about them which is great! I first encountered this Heaven on Earth burger joint in Las Vegas and again in Chicago, which was unfortunate since I am from KY and wasn't aware there was one near me until LOW AND BEHOLD I found out about the one in Lexington, KY. Now I'm from Louisville so it's about a 3 hr drive round trip, but let me tell you the Double SmokeShack Burger is worth the drive Every. Single. Time. The bun melts in your mouth, the patty is cooked to perfection, the chopped cherry peppers which give a little spicy kick, the perfectly cooked bacon, and OMG the ShackSauce. It all adds up to a flavor explosion and uncontested awesomeness that I have yet to experience at any other "fast food" burger place. Now, on to the prices. If you consider Shake Shack a fast food place then yes the prices are a bit high, but I think the food is absolutely worth it. Our order took much longer than usual and the restaurant only had 6 customers, including the 2 in my party. When we finally got our food, the fries and burger were literally dripping with grease. Since the first time I tried this chain in NYC I'm always motivated to come back and well I knew that during my time in Lexington I needed to stop there. The surrounding area of this place is just great to spend many hours, it is located near a plaza mall that has a lot of different stores however parking can be a little difficult to find very close because there are a lot of restaurants around. Now this burger chain is above most chains because their beef quality is better and their fries they have some condiment that makes not the usual side as in any place. That being said those things affects your price. For a man to be satisfied I believe you will have to spend around 15 dlls which will be a two patty burger with a side of fries (not included with burger price) I had the smoke shack and the bacon was very tasty but I didn't end up full. One of my favorite burger joints! I've tried Whataburger and In-N-Out and Shake Shack is my personal favorite. The sauce is not too overpowering, the bun is soft and a great texture. The patty is well cooked and doesn't feel too thick. You're already eating greasy food so the last thing I want it too feel like I ate a whole cow. The milkshakes are thick and creamy but I'm not a fan of the price point as you can see my shake was the price of a burger. The french fries are fried to perfection and the ideal texture of a crinkle cut. I got cheese on the side just so I can eat some fries undressed. I love that fact that they offer dog treats on the menu. Unfortunately, I've never had my dog with me so we've only gotten then dog biscuits but they offer a cold treat for those who bring their dogs with them. The location of this shack is at the Summit and it overlooks the turf court where people can lounge and sit by the fountain. A great outdoor patio on a beautiful day. My husband and I drove to Lexington to visit our favorite antique shops, and with plans to go to Shake Shack. We were both looking forward to trying their burgers and chocolate malts. He loves a greasy burger. They have crinkle fries which I love, so that was the only positive for me. I think for my taste, I agree with Andrew Zimmern, and for my money, I prefer Culver's.
