Unfortunately, when I went to order, I was told they were out of rice and not serving it. Very disappointing. I decided to try the 10-piece lemon pepper wings instead and specifically asked for all flats. The order taker said it could be done. However, when my food came out, the wings were mixed. My husband spoke with who I assume was the owner, and she explained that they don't typically sell all flats because it leaves them with too many drums--which is understandable. However, that should have been communicated upfront, as I likely would have ordered something else or chosen to go elsewhere. The dining area also took away from the experience. The tables were filthy, and we had to ask for ours to be cleaned before we could even sit down. To make matters worse, most of the fountain drinks were out. I settled for fruit punch, which unfortunately wasn't good. My husband and son received their meals, and overall, the food was just average at best. It's a 1/4lb merger patty that's cooked to perfection, nice and juicy, and the chili topping was delicious! My friends slaw dog was perfect she said and the dog was good quality and the slaw was a great addition to the dog. I'll have to try the chili-slaw dog next time. Another great surprise were the French fries; they were cooked to a crunchy perfection and although they may have been frozen they were real potato fries, large and fried to the exact perfection! They also have BBQ, shrimp, ice creams, cookies, all kinds of stuff! I never expected to find such a great little cafe right on the Silver Comet Trail.
