Let's start with the pros: 1. Getting a massage here is the only thing that can truly make you appreciate all the other massages you've had in your life, and how good they were. Okay, that's it. By far the worst masseuse I have ever been to. We might actually have to address all the problems of this place individually: 1. The masseuse herself: RUDE. Unbelievably rude, judgmental, and unprofessional. She grilled me about my medical history, making her own diagnoses about my health and proudly offering up suggestions about conditions that I had neither reported nor do I suffer from. She then informed me that she would be discussing said conditions with one of my family members who was also scheduled to see her at a later date to see what my family member thought about them. I did not appreciate a masseuse attempting giving me a once-over and attempting to assign medical problems to me, and I CERTAINLY don't think it's appropriate for her to voluntarily state that she will be violating client privacy to DISCUSS those medical problems with a third party. 2. The massage: Awful. The most lackluster, pathetic attempt at a "massage" I've ever experienced in my life. I'm not being bitter here... Ask your spouse or a friend to give you a quick shoulder rub; they're likely to do a better job and apply more pressure than this fraud of a woman. I explicitly told her I was coming in due to shoulder and neck stiffness from desk work, yet at no point in time did she focus on any particular muscle group. Instead she simply rubbed lightly on one spot on my back over and over with her fingers, applying absolutely NO pressure whatsoever. It was truly dismal. Never in my life have I been given a massage by someone so obviously under-qualified. If she has any sort of degree, the institution that gave it to her should be ashamed. 2. b.) The massage (cont!): It is also worth noting that I paid for a sixty minute massage. She spent the first ten minutes of those 60 minutes telling me what was wrong with my health (see topic 1). She then gave her disgustingly poor excuse for a massage for approximately twenty minutes. I never rolled over, and all she did was lightly rub the exact same spot on my back. After twenty minutes, she stopped and stated that she was out of oil (???) and sat down in the corner to "refill her oil". She then said that for someone with health issues such as mine (again, the health issues she MADE UP and which I do not suffer from), she would need "much more time" to work with me and that she couldn't continue. I was dressed and out to my car before my 60 minutes were even up. HUGE waste of money and scam. Pay for 60 minutes, get 20, if you're lucky. But don't expect 20 minutes of quality work or therapy. 3. Hygiene: I pulled back the sheet of her little massage bed to see the fabric was covered with hair from previous clients. The sheets were damp. I'm positive they were not changed from the client before me. The massage "oil" she used (that she suddenly needed to refill in the middle of my massage, for some reason) was a white, lard-looking substance that came from a huge, white, industrial-grade bucket of what looked like some sort of cooking oil. MAYBE it was an extremely cheap brand of coconut oil, but it certainly didn't smell like it. I felt disgustingly greasy when I got home and took a shower immediately. 4. The office: Parking lot so full of massive pot holes that I was sure I'd messed up a tire just driving in. The "office" is literally just one room with a bed and a chair and a door that leads in from a PUBLIC hallway. I was very uncomfortable the entire time that someone from an entirely different business could simply walk into the room at any given moment. Not a comfortable or relaxed environment whatsoever. This place doesn't even deserve one star. I wish I could give it 0/5. I believe in giving businesses the benefit of the doubt and taking reviews with a grain of salt, but I wish I had read the reviews on this horrible woman before wasting my money. At the very least, reading the reviews here and on Google+ has consoled me that it wasn't just me; the masseuse didn't have some personal vendetta against me and she didn't give me a horrible service just because she didn't like me... My mom buys me groupons for massages all the time. I've probably been to at least 6 different masseuses from her generosity. Of all the places, Shahnaz is the only one I've returned to. I've been seeing her for about a year now. Her prices as fair and reasonable. She is always on time and treats me with courtesy and respect. She is knowledgeable about her craft and I always feel more relaxed after having seen her. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a massage. read more

I got the 55 min massage as a gift through livingsocial. Just making the appointment was a pain as her voice mailbox was full each time I called over three days. I showed up, filed out the paper work and answered her questions she ask about in the paper work. Took nearly 15 min. Then she drops water on the sheet before she asks me to climb on. I remove all my clothes, then told I should have left my panties on. Are you serious? Then she suggests I need heat, but that it will cost me extra. I tell her I didn't bring extra, since I'm there on a certificate. She responds with "so you won't be paying me gratuity?" At this point I'm really getting irritated. Super dumpy atmosphere, and she actually shook me down for money while I was on the table, naked and vulnerable! She asked me several times if I had cash on me, and asked me if I was going to tip her!!! It was the worst "massage" I have ever had, she used NO pressure at all, I received NO relief whatsoever. First off all this was the first massage I had ever received. So initially it felt good. But I had received this massage as gift as a graduation present. I quickly used the massage certificate. Her customer service skills are awful, trying to talk to her to schedule an appointment is a nightmare. I told her late morning work best for. She she schedules be for a 3:30 I told her I couldn't do that time and needed a different time/day you would think I asked her to sacrifice a puppy. She seamed offended by such a minute request. But I got it schedule and received my first massage it was very relaxing and after meeting her in person she seemed rather nice. She asked me how I was feeling thought the massage and if I was enjoying myself and I was. So after it was done I scheduled second massage. She told me that if I put money down that the massage would be only $40.00 so I put half the money down. Well after I arrived and was massaged for an hour she told me that I owed her $50.00. So I ended up paying 65.00 total. I asked her why and she said avoided the question and stared to write me in for a third appointment I told her that because I am college student who just graduate I can't afford to get a massage once a month like she was recommending so when I tried to scheduled one 2-3 months ahead of time she suggested, in a very forceful way. For me too schedule it in 1 month. I told her that was fine, but I told her I wasn't going to put money down because i felt it didn't make a difference in price. She has no idea I plan on cancelling that appointment and never returning. Although the her first massage felt good and I felt relaxed after. I feel that belied get the same amount f enjoyment from letting my dogs walk over my back and taking a nap on me... Honestly for a free massage it was worth it. My wife and I had a living social coupon for two 55min massages. I went first. She was polite and asked if i have any areas to focus on. She somewhat focused on the areas i mentioned. While changing, I noticed that the brown sheets on the table looked dirty or rather used. Blotches of dried oil or lotion but I ignored it. The massage itself wasn't worth bragging about. She used her finger tips more than anything. She also thought it was time to eat because I could hear her chew on something crunchy, which resulted in her using one hand during the massage. Then she must have been bored because I could hear her play on her phone. I could hear the sound from each button press as if she was scrolling, which also resulted in her using one hand during the massage. Not once did she apologize for the "interuption." My wife shared with me that she wanted her feet focused on but her massage was focused on her Back. Same complaints as mine. Used bedding, rubbed with finger tips, eating, and played on the phone. At the end of it all, my wife gave her a disappointing $10 tip but the woman demanded a 20% tip. My wife told me and I refused. $10 was too much. We won't be returning. read more

I also bought a Groupon for this massage and was extremely disappointed with her professionalism! I definitely got scammed, so I guess it's my fault for trusting her. I called to see if she had any openings before buying the Groupon because I wanted to go on a particular day. She said she just had a cancellation and that I could get in first thing in the morning. I bought the Groupon. Once I arrived, she told me I could not use my Groupon. I had to use cash because that was "why she got me in so quickly....under the impression that I would pay cash now and use my Groupon another time". I bought it, assuming it was an honest mistake (she has a very thick Indian accent and it is sometimes hard to understand her). I paid cash for that visit and booked another two weeks later so that I could use my Groupon. I came back for the second appointment and was even more disappointed. For both massages I was only on my stomach. She only massaged my legs and back for 55 minutes, telling me I was "very tight" and "should be a regular customer for preventative maintenance". Right. Within the last 2-3 minutes of the second massage, she was asking how great I felt. I said I felt pretty good. She then proceeded to push, REALLY push, me scheduling more massages with her. I told her not right now and that I usually like to wait until I feel like I need one to schedule. I only came back twice because I wasn't allowed to use my Groupon at the first visit. She told me to take my time getting dressed and relax and leave the door open when I was finished so she could come back in....I thought this was strange since I paid for the visit and just wanted to leave. As I was putting my coat on (literally 2 minutes after she left and RIGHT after I put my clothes on), she comes in, shuts AND LOCKS the door behind her! Right away, she starts hounding me to schedule again. I told her what I said earlier and that I'll get back to her if I want to reschedule. She acted completely offended and said I need to come back because of how tight I am....haha I told her, for the fifth time, no. I will call you. THEN.....she tells me "Okay, well, you need to pay me $10 extra for the heat packs I used today". I said "what???" You never asked me if I wanted them...you just used them AND never told me that it cost extra....she demanded I pay her! I didn't have cash but felt kind of guilty and really just wanted that moment to end so I got out my debit card and she said "forget it. I don't have anything for cards". Honestly, I felt scammed and that this was DEFINITELY not worth even the Groupon price! She tries to sneak extra sales in without telling and becomes scarily offended when you turn them down. WORST massage I have ever had! She showed up 10 minutes late to start with. She lightly rubbed my back using oil but no pressure at all. She only had me lay on my stomach, never got the other side of my body. Her hands had dry skin and it felt like she was rubbing sand paper on my back. Towards the end of the massage the next appointment actually opened the door and started to walk into the room while I was still on the table. When she said "all done" I thought to myself "there is NO WAY that was 55 mins" and when i looked at the clock on my phone, I had only been on the table for 35-40 mins. I have been going here for years. I pay for the deep tissue massages and I love them. I've been getting the heating packs lately and enjoy that as well. She compares favorably in price and quality. The deep tissue is more expensive, but I think it is worth it. read more

I purchased an Amazon Local Deal and called to make an appointment I was surprised that I could have gotten in so quickly... this should have been my first clue. Well the Brookfield Massage is a tiny old office (one small room) in an aging office building, not SPA like or appealing at all. It started with a clip board outside the door so I filled it out...not sure why she wanted the name of the Company I worked for and that of my Husband's she did not get it. I paid for a 55 Minute Relaxation Massage, granted it was only $29.00 but these promotions are supposed to promote future sales correct? My 12:40 appointment started at 12:48 (on my cell) and 12:57 her digital clock on the shelf. I was told that this was a "relaxation only" and if I had any muscle aches or tightness, I would need to upgrade to a Therapeutic or Deep tissue for $20.00 I declined. After about three seconds she told me how tight I am...I said really I should not be it's the weekend and left it at that. So as she massaged me, she never once asked "how the pressure was" had she I would have responded what pressure? Honestly it was not relaxing it was irritating...I laid there stewing thinking how I am wasting an hour of my life on this it was a light brush at best. So then to my surprise she stated she was done, I thought that even though I was not really enjoying it, how could the time have gone bye that quickly? So she left and I sat up to get off the table at which point I see her clock...1:32 wow my 55 minute massage was actually 35. So she knocked and asked if I was done, I said yes, hoping to get out of there quickly, and to my surprise she asks me to sit down and begins asking me to make another appointment. I am not a huge fan of confrontation so I agree (knowing I would call and leave a cancelation message to be honest) we set a date and then she asks me for a cash deposit on the future appointment, I tell her I have NEVER heard of such a thing! She actually giggled a little bit and said, No I am sure you have not. She explains to me that she does not take credit cards, I asked what does that have to do with it? I asked her "what if I had to reschedule?" and she says then I just call and reschedule...I said NO, I said that I would not do that. I got the heck out of there and will not be back. This was the worst massage experience I have ever had! For starters, I had bought this massage for my girlfriend for Valentines day so I wanted it to be a good experience. We get there and she tells my girl to fill out the required form and stands outside with me to discuss the massage. I had paid for the 55 min therapeutic massage but told her that if my girlfriend needed the deep tissue to go ahead and charge me extra. This lady was obviously brand new to concept of a gay relationship because she asked me and my girlfriend at least 20 times (no exaggeration) who we were to each other, and why I was buying her a massage. This made us feel very uncomfortable and annoyed. She was apparently also very confused about her own trade because she asked repeatedly what type of massage she should give. After her asking all the same questions and just generally wasting time, she gave a total of a 25 min massage when I paid for 55 minutes! I have been to many places for a massage but never had the consultation and form filling deducted from the massage time to that extreme. She intentionally doofed around in an effort to lazily rub for half of the time period. In all of her professionalism, she had the nerve to slander me to my girlfriend while giving the massage because I got frustrated with her. Massages are obviously supposed to be relaxing, the last thing you want is the masseuse complaining to you. To top things off she gave a terrible massage with no pressure applied and no offer to apply more pressure. I have reviewed this woman before and it is not showing up for some reason. I saw her in November 2013. She's awful!!! DO NOT BUY OR SEE HER!!! She is a scam artist. Like the previous reviewer, Becky B., she offers you an upgrade for $20 and if you don't purchase it, it is basically her rubbing oil on your back. My husband had purchased an Amazon Local coupon for me to use. I showed up early and she wasn't even there yet. She arrived right at the time of my massage. The room was SO cold, the sheets were cold and her hands were cold and dry. She had me fill out a form and then she sits down with you for 5 minutes to discuss your sheet. She is a bit condescending, too. She gives you her opinion about your life like if your plan to have 4 kids is too much. That was just rude! After about 5 minutes of the massage she asked me if the massage was feeling good. I told her no that I need more pressure and she then offered the upgrade. I told her that I don't ever do deep tissue massages because they're painful. And she argues with me that what she's giving me is a Swedish Massage. I've had multiple Swedish Massages and what she was giving me was crap!!!!!!!!!! She will tell you that she works for a Chiropractor and that she has been hired by Marquette University. I ended the massage early because it was a waste of my time. I called Amazon Local and was able to get a refund. I'm surprised that Amazon Local still posts coupons for this woman. She's a joke! I wouldn't give Shahnaz even a one star rating. I called to make an appointment to redeem a voucher my husband purchased for me through Amazon. She asked when it expired, which I said December 6th, and she continued to make comments and laugh at me that I was trying to make an appointment within a two and half week time frame. She said in a condensding way.."My dear, most people call 3 months in advance, you should have called earlier." This was repeated to me 3 separate times. Meanwhile the whole time talking, she continued to hit dial tones on her phone, so I couldn't even hear what she was saying. The entire converstation was so unprofessional and completely lacked basic customer service. I have managed/worked in customer service for 12 years, and was so put off by this phone call. I then looked up other reviews, and was not the least bit surprised to read the complaints. We called Amazon to report this business, and get our money back for our non-used voucher, and they were very appreciative of our feedback. Not worth it! Even with the discount I felt completely ripped off. Paid $30 for 55 minutes and got only 25 minutes. When I called her out on it, she told me the "consultation" was included as part of the 55 minutes. What? Even if that was legit, her 10 minute "consultation" was a lecture about how I should be getting a massage every other week. When I told her I preferred deep tissue she told me I couldn't know that because I don't go for massages regularly. The massage wasn't that good-my husband gives a better back rub with absolutely no training. She was very pushy about booking another appt right away and about getting a tip (which was not deserved). Also, her studio is a room in a run down office complex with paper thin walls so you can hear the lady next door talking loudly and clearly on the phone (and microwaving her lunch). If there were a negative star option, Shahnaz would get it from me. To start off, she was late to the appointment. I went into her dank little basement massage room which was freezing cold. She kept asking me questions about my job, which she didn't understand, and trying to explain it to her made me feel stressed. I felt quite insulted by her, as she indicated that the fact that I was pregnant must mean my other work was suffering (!?!). Incredible. When she finally started the "massage" 20 minutes late, she literally ran her fingers over my back with one hand while she consistently wiped her nose with the back of her other hand. There was no pillowcase on the pillow my head was on (gross). After about 25 minutes of feeling totally uncomfortable, I told her to stop and that I preferred to leave. I have never walked out of a massage before, even mediocre ones. But this was downright uncomfortable. Save yourself a total waste of time and money, and don't visit Shahnaz. read more
