All the way from CA, I decided to get a facial at Spargo. The facilities have been updated from some of the older reviews listed here. I did not encounter any of the complaints of those reviews. Spargo was very clean and welcoming. The front desk girls were very nice and helpful. The salon looked great. The locker and spa areas were very clean, relaxing, quiet, and private. Carter did my facial and shoulder and chest massage. She let me know everything that she was doing as she did it. The pressure she applied for massages was perfect. I feel refreshed and my skin feels soft and dewy. I would definitely recommend and come again!!! read more

Received Father's day gift card for haircut and beard trim. Booked two weeks in advance. 30 minutes before appointment arrived early and was notified my appointment was cancelled when i arrived, after rescheduling other scheduled conflicts. Save your money. They can't keep their word. read more

Had a great facial and received some good advice on a new skin care regimen. I'm not sure it's fully doing the trick, but it was nice to have someone talk to me in more specific terms about what I might want to try rather than getting the very basic sales pitch on product. I felt very relaxed leaving the facial. The setting is very nice, if a little like a maze, and everyone is very friendly. I liked how bright and airy the top floor felt, and the locker room was clean. I'm not entirely sure I like that they put a robe and shoes in the locker for you, since I am not a one-size fits all body, but overall it was relaxing and nice. read more

Looks are DECEPTIVE.....BEWARE! If true quality matters to you--find another spa like Aspira Spa--worth the travel. I have been coming to this Spargo for over 20 years.........and AM SHOCKED at the HORRIFIC UNPROFESSIONAL services I have received! WOW. Receptionists were rude arrogant girls with attitude. The shower facility was unclean--cockroach infestation and the worst part was the massage. She was rude and overly aggressive--leaving bruises all over my lower back and thighs......would not let me speak during the session and clearly does NOT know the ABC's of human anatomy--specifically the muscles/kinesthesiology. it won't take long before this particular masseuse goes and abuses another client. I would be very careful if I were the owners. No human should be treated the way I was at Spargo.....my experience has been reported to the Better Business Bureau. HORRIFIC. read more

I was gifted a certificate for a massage and scheduled a couples massage so my boyfriend could be treated too. It was my first massage, but I can promise I will be back. My therapist was a doll and so kind. The massage itself was truly amazing and the atmosphere was so calming. My shower afterwards was literally the best shower I've ever taken, surrounded by jets. I treated myself to lotions and hair products afterwards and left in a blissful state of calm, harmony, and euphoria (I felt like I was high). I completely understand why the scheduling is so far out, and I would live there if I could. read more

Oh Spargo Salon & Day Spa - how I love you! I have been on the hunt for a spa that offered bath soaks (besides a certain spa in downtown Milwaukee) that was reasonably priced. Then all of a sudden I stumbled onto the Spargo Salon & Day spa website All the services I have received there have been fantastic. The massages I have received are top notch. The massage therapist really gets the spots that need work and really get the kinks out. The person who has done my facial and wax (I think her name was Andi), is fantastic. One of the worst experiences in a salon and worst haircuts. My hairstylist was Hailey and the service was incredibly rushed, my hair was "curled" but the back was completely straight. My haircut is uneven in the back and my face framing pieces are so uneven and incredibly choppy. I could have done a much better haircut myself. When leaving the salon, it was difficult to see any of these issues given that I was styled with a middle part instead of my usual side part, and that my hair was curled when I normally straighten it. I also explicitly said at least 10 times that I wanted my hair to remain long and only wanted 2 inches cut off. That was not the case, it was 4 or 5 inches at a minimum. Very disappointing experience from what I thought was a high end salon. Would leave zero stars if possible. read more

I haven't felt this pampered in a long time! I booked the couple's massage for my husband and I where you get the soaking tubs first. Ahhh how relaxing! I was super impressed right when we arrived, the girls at the desk were quick to greet us and take us down to the locker rooms. The place is lovely- and the waterfall from the salon level down to the spa level is super cool. Once we "robed up" we headed to the waiting area. I do wish we knew about the lounge chairs around the corner to relax in while we waited. That area, by the way, is dimly lit and has a water feature in the middle that already helps you get into "relaxation mode". I love that they decorated it to feel like an outdoor Roman-times space. Ashley & Savannah were our massage therapists. When the room was ready for us, we went in and the girls explained how the soaking tubs worked. One thing I was nervous about was whether we'd hear when they came in to have us get dried off and on the tables, but we heard them just fine. One thing that I think would be a nice add is some aromatherapy along with the soaking tub, whether it be in the water (which would probably make it harder to clean those freaking awesome tubs) or just some oils diffused maybe? Anyway, I digress. The massages themselves were wonderful. The pressure was great and my husband also said Savannah did a great job with releasing some of his tight muscles (he likes very hard pressure since he works out 5-6 times a week, he needs it!). One thing I really was thankful for was that there was the perfect amount of communication- she only asked me a couple of times about pressure and positioning, and in a nice quiet voice. ((I once had a masseuse for a prenatal massage at a different salon in New Berlin basically talk the WHOLE time... kind of the opposite of what you want when you get a massage, amirite?)) The locker room was super nice and had hair products and body wash available for use if you needed to, plus a steam room (which I didn't use) and of course showers. Outside of the locker rooms on the "entrance" side they have some bistro tables as well as snacks, juice, water & tea available. I cannot wait to go back & try other services! I had waited months for an appt and received a text reminder that displayed the wrong appt date. I called Spargo immediately to fix this error. The associate with whom I spoke did not fix the error, but rather insinuated it was my fault. I can safely say it was NOT. I had made this appointment in person at the spa, and was very specific about the necessary date. When I voiced this to the employee, I received no apology or solutions; just some awkward silence and the feeling that I was being an inconvenience. I had waited months for this appointment and was informed it would be three months for the next available one. I understand this spa is busy and services book out far in advance. It's not the scheduling error that disturbs me -- things happen. It was the poor handling of it. A stark contrast to the quality of their spa services. read more

So, I want to give this place 5 stars. Until today they did rank 5 stars in my eyes. A new Wisconsin resident myself, my husband and daughter all started coming to Sparo in Pewaukee based on reputation, the facility, and close proximity to where we live. My services alone can come out to a few hundred dollars a month (spa, hair, nails) not to mention monthly haircuts by my husband and daughter and product purchases. Well..........I normally get the shellack manicure there (best place to do it). However - I had to travel for business and got my nails done at Bliss Spa in San Francisco. BLISS - not some podunk spa there - BLISS (internationally renouned). When I called to schedule my appointment with my regular nail tech (who is amazing) the girl on the phone tells me I would have to REMOVE my own shellack before they can see me. WHAT? And destroy my nails? WHY? Oh, because I had my nails done elsewhere and they may use a different brand. Again...WHAT? That is almost the same as saying - we can't dye your hair becuase you went somewhere else and they use a different brand of dye. OR, Sorry we can't give you a facial becuase you got a facial done somewhere else and they use different products. So, needless to say I do have the option of destroying my nails and removing the shellack myself....or just going somewhere else. Needless to day - going somewhere else is a better solution. Stupid business decision and VERY rude customer service agent. Moving on.... read more

I was treated like a princess during my visit to Spargo yesterday for a haircut. This palace offers you beverages and snacks upon entry, and has a nice coat closet. The stylists are all professional, but my stylist Astacia was top notch. She started by making sure that she clearly understood what I wanted before cutting anything. Then she put aromatic oil on her fingers and almost lulled me to sleep via scalp massage. Afterwards we went over for a wash and the chair massaged my body while she not only shampooed and conditioned, but massaged my scalp with the conditioner in AGAIN! I am frankly surprised I didn't fall asleep. She put a scented hot towel around my neck and got to cutting. She was talkative and included me and my opinion during the entire process, and I was ecstatic with the results. I would HIGHLY recommend everyone go check her out, she was phenomenal and I can't wait for my next princess treatment! read more

I sent my 17 year old daughter in for some highlights and a trim. She was so happy with the service and really liked the stylist. What I find to be disturbing is the cost of a highlight and trim for a 17 year old with shoulder length hair cost 248.00...not including the tip!!! I love Miranda. She's been my hair stylist for more than 3 years now and I've always been happy with her work. When I initially saw her, my hair grew to the nape of my neck -- at that time she gave me the CUTEST haircut ever. I got soooo many compliments from both strangers and people I know. Now, my hair is to my midback and she does a great job at taking off volume and weight from my head (I have a ton of hair). Her cuts used to be $35, but now it's $38. I still think it's worth every dollar and is a fantastic deal considering prices I've paid in San Francisco. For $5 more she would run a curling iron through my hair for special events. Her head massages feel really nice and I enjoy sitting in the massage chair when I get my hair washed. I've also gotten massage here that I really enjoyed. Downstairs is the spa. It was pretty dark where I was waiting for the masseuse - I think they were trying to go for a soothing calm vibe. With the fountain running, I didn't even hear the masseuse come up to me and was pretty startled when she greeted me! read more

I called to surprise my wife with a couples massage (2 tables in same room - which was really large - and had twin jacuzzi's in it that we didn't use) for our anniversary (after dinner). - Relaxing, well designed Roman theme with discrete separate locker rooms and a nice waiting area with refreshments and a 10' tall waterfall for ambiance. 2nd time at Spargo and I saw Megan this time because she had a spot immediately available and I was desperate for a trim. She is wonderful!!! I'm terrible at articulating what I need done with my hair other than "Trim" but Megan trimmed it up, added some long layers, removing the damage, and did exactly what my hair needed to look it's best!! I also appreciate that she took the time to get to know my hair-care habits which is very minimal. I'm a windows down, air dry kinda girl most of the time - and she suggested a couple of products, but also suggested some easy kitchen-cabinet remedies as well since I'm not much of a product user. Not a pleasant experience. I am a male and I wanted a simple bald fade, high and tight haircut And they couldn't do it. They never even showed me the back of my head when it was done. I also asked for a little off the top and she just buzzed it! When I got home I noticed my neck was barley trimmed and the back was never faded up. I went back and another stylist tried to fix my hair. Both couldn't give me what I wanted after I specifically told them what I wanted with visuals! For a $48 I would have expected a flawless haircut. Quite frankly I'm not happy and I want my money back. read more

I had recently gotten my hair colored at a salon, and it resulted in a horrible, horrible dye job. I wanted it fixed as soon as possible and booked a color correction appointment with Laura. I just wanted to feel comfortable with my hair color again, but instead she completely surpassed all expectations. She took all the time that was needed to fix it and was very personable and exceptionally talented. She took my hair from the worst it's ever looked to exactly what I wanted it to look like before that initial bad appointment. I couldn't be happier and will be returning. Bought a gift certificate for a one-hour couples massage for a friend and her husband who were going through a rough time. When my friend called to book the appointment at the end of July, she was told the earliest they could get them in was November. A three-month wait for a couples massage is ridiculous. Kinda defeats the purpose of giving someone a gift certificate to cheer them up during a rough time. I won't be gifting massages to Spargo again. read more

More than accommodating staff was super friendly. We did couples massage it was great. The room had two jetted tubs for soaking a fireplace in middle of wall. We had champagne and fruit while soaking in tubs prior to massage. They offer robes and rubber slippers. The bathroom fitting area has amazing smelling bathroom products to use. Well equipped hairdryers products no need to bring anything. Steam shower and regular shower as well. Sitting area is relaxed space with refreshments offered. This place is very good for the money better pricing than fancy hotel spas with same quality. They do pressure to your liking. The thing I dont like is how they announce your price loudly and your not able to write in amount of tip they talk about it verbally. I am visual with numbers more especially. I also don't like things announced I like my privacy. It does take time to get appointment so call ahead to book. Great place. Cannot wait to book other things here. read more

Most recently was an Ultimate Pedicure I had yesterday. It. Was. Amazing. It was so relaxing, and Summer did just a fabulous job. Super happy with the results, she listened to what I wanted, a gradual transition to lighter overall color through highlights and gave me exactly the amount and level of lighter color that I like. I can't say enough amazing things about this place. I had gone here before to have a nice massage with my sister-in-law, and I have never had better service. For my wedding, the majority of my bridesmaids, as well as my mother-in-law had their services done there. I have never seen more professional ladies! They were truely amazing, and If i lived closer, I would be going here on a weekly basis! My bridesmaids look fantastic, from ther hair to the nails, to the makeup. Truely talented ladies! Chris has been styling my hair for years. He does a great job--always has suggestions on ways to keep my hair up-to-date (I admit--on my own, I would still have the same hair I did 20 years ago). When I'm going out or have an event coming up, he also has recommendations on ways I can style it to make it look a little fancier. I went to to Spargo today for my first massage ever. I have always wanted to get one and my husband stopped in and purchased a gift card for me for my birthday. When giving me the gift he talked very highly about how nice the salon looked on the inside. He was definitely right. From the moment I walked in, I felt relaxed and everything was beautiful and very clean. The spa area downstairs was wonderful-from the look to the atmosphere, it was perfect. Been a customer for a few years now. Have used the spa services numerous times. The staff is always wonderful and inviting. This review is more for management to make a few notes. Recent visit, 6:00pm middle of the week. 1 of the services was cancelled day of the appointment, understandable. Offered to fill-in with a different service but I would have expected a small discount for the inconvenience, not free, just discount. No toilet paper in ladies locker room, no coffee made or snacks out in the waiting area. Spa area needs a little TLC. No reading material except 2 books that are worn with stains on them and have been there for a few years now. Water cooler was a quarter full, no ice, 1 slice of lemon floating. Not warm but not cold. Always love this place and the staff but the spa area needs a little attention. When I arrived there were 3 ladies behind the front desk. I just got a massage there and it was fantastic. My masseuse was Holly and she definitely knew what she was doing. You can tell she was very well trained. It was a very spa like massage with hot towels and amazing smelling oils. On top of that the locker room has a steam room and a shower you can use free of charge while you're there. I definitely recommend getting a massage or any other body treatment here. On that note the reason I don't give it five stars is because before I got my massage I got my bangs trimmed there which you can do free of charge. They had me scheduled with a different woman than who normally does my hair.( the woman who normally does it always does a great job so I wasn't concerned.) but the woman who cut my bangs this time did a TERRIBLE job. It looks awful. It's uneven, Jagged, and blunt cut. It also is just completely straight across when my bangs are normally curved. Too short too. It looks terrible and I'm embarrassed to even be seen like this. read more
