Before my first visit here, I was really excited to try out this salon. The reviews online seemed to be generally positive and the pictures I'd seen on social media looked like quality work. The main thing that had deterred me from booking an appointment here earlier was the price, I did not feel comfortable spending up to $135 for a haircut. When I booked my appointment, I picked the stylist with the cheapest rate of $60. I was somewhat anxious that doing this would mean I would be sacrificing the quality of my service, but I figured I'd try it out anyway! When I arrived, the stylist greeted me and we got started. I showed him a picture of what I wanted, which was a medium length men's shag, and I felt like I walked out looking like the mother of the Brady Bunch lol. I had a mushroom shaped mullet with straight across bangs that were also crooked and had to ask him to revise it, which ended up making everything shorter than what I would have liked. He also kept interrupting me several times while we were talking to tell me about his career as a dancer, which I just found odd. Haha oh well! Looking forward to my hair growing out xx read more

Yesterday was my 3rd visit to Nice Hair and I'm so pleased I found this place. Mary does a great job listening to what I like and don't like about my hair and helping me to find color that compliments me and also style that is easy for me to replicate at home. Also l love the business model of paying a flat fee for the stylists time. No more worries of whether my tip amount communicated to the stylist just how much I love the outcome. I love the the products that are used at the salon but I love even more that they aren't sold there so no hard sell which has always been a huge turnoff at other salons. My wife received a card while out at pride right when I was desperate for a hair cut. So it was my first time going in today and worked with Alie for a short cut. I struggle with social anxiety and been struggling with upkeep for a long while. Despite my anxieties Alie were patient and took their time to make sure I was comfortable. Even offered a water. They were very gracious and just let the conversation be natural and float off where ever it went with no real pressure. Nice Hair is a brand new salon located in a primo spot in Walkers Point - just south of 2nd and National. There's no lot but ample parking all around on the street. The interior is bright, airy and modern with high ceilings and neutral tones interspersed with pops of color. For the most part they use indie lines like Kevin Murphy vs Goldwell or Redken, which is nice. They also recycle lots of things including your cut off hair - it's used to absorb oil spills I guess. Jokes on them, my hair is already oily! Anyway, expect spa touches like hand massages, scalp massages and soothing hot towels. They currently have 9 hair designers on staff so everyone should find their personal hair match. I'm all set up with the owner Kate who has done my hair for 5+ years and is the only reason I don't look like a total hag. I'm serious - total strangers often compliment my color/cut. If people aren't stopping you on the street to tell you that your hair is fabulous you should probably start coming here. And after, you'll be all ready to stop at one of the many nearby trendy spots and perhaps meet that special someone..... read more

First time getting my hair dyed and it was the perfect place to do it. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the funky and chill atmosphere of the salon. It's clear that the owner put a lot of effort into creating an aesthetic and artsy vibe for clients. It was just for me for awhile so I got to pick the music too! The best part of my visit was Sarah who did my hair. As someone who has never had their hair done before, I was a bit nervous, but Sarah made me feel comfortable and explained the process thoroughly and we had a great time laughing and talking. The balayage itself- stunning! Just what i wanted. I've received so many compliments on my hair since my appointment with her, and I couldn't be happier. I loved how they priced too- it was a set price per hour but that included gratuity (no tips otherwise). I felt like it was definitely reasonably priced. Overall so good- 10/10 recommend! read more

A friend recommended this place to me after I received a bad haircut from another salon. I saw Leyna for a funky shag cut and my experience was nothing but amazing! Leyna spent time asking me what I didn't like about my cut and what I was looking for. She asked a lot of really great questions and spent time actually looking at my previous cut. It was really lovely to have her spend the time asking about what I wanted. My cut was freaking fantastic! Super stylish, funky, and exactly what I wanted but could not put into words! She gave me styling techniques and products so I could recreate my style. Everyone at the salon was friendly. I love that they are mindful of their impact on the environment through how they run the salon and the products they recommend. It's also super handy you can book appts right on their website. 10/10, would recommend and will be coming back soon read more

I've been seeing Jaime for the last several years and followed her to Nice Hair when it opened. What a great space! Street parking is easy to find and it's nice and bright inside. The owner has introduced herself and the business offers tons of networking events to stylists in the community and creative professionals in general. Nice Hair is still my salon even after moving to Seattle! Last time I was in, I saw Noel since Jaime was on maternity leave, and I was equally pleased with my cut and color. There's always a nice balance of them listening to what I want and suggesting what might work well best based on my hair - I trust the pros here. read more
