My stylist, Michelle, cuts my hair and she is good at what she does. I may have had someone as good, but in a different state. I'm particular about my hair and she has adjusted the cut so it looks lik"the way I want it to. The downside is that it costs a lot. Seems like too much for just a cut. The staff is nice and there is an upscale ambiance. However, I'm only interested in the service and cost. She may be worth the cost since she listens and does my hair accordingly. read more

Ally, the stylist whom I see, is incredible and amazing. She listens and gives knowledgeable and expert advice. She's fun to talk to and does an amazing job every single time. I was new to the state at the time and have been looking for a place to cut my hair. (This happened maybe February of this year) Let me just say I will never come here again. Don't get me wrong the place and people were very nice, this is a very upscale salon. However I cried on my home because I my hair looked hideous. I was so insecure and in tears because of it for a good 2-3 weeks. I'm not someone to freak out over my hair, shoot I've had my head shaved before if that counts for anything of how laid back I am about my hair. But I went in for a trim (hair the length to high/mid back) and i came out with shoulder length hair! I didn't want to cause a scene or make the guy feel bad so I went "wow I love it" paid 50$ and left and cried for hours over it. I don't want to trash talk the place because it was nice, but this is just my personal experience here. read more

Absolutely love this place!! The Parlor is a full-service Aveda salon, the atmosphere is very relaxed, yet professional. The whole staff are super friendly, Beth does a great job of running the front desk, keeping appointments organized, and welcoming clients. Jen cut my hair for about 4 years before I relocated to St Louis, and I still miss her! I have yet to find a replacement who lives up to the high standards set by Jen, even though I moved over a year ago!! Jen pays great attention to detail, takes time with each client, and never seems rushed. I was always, always happy with how I looked at the end of my appointment. Still miss this place!! I went to The Parlor for a few years, and while I can say I was never completely happy with the haircuts I got, the color jobs I got always used to be good. Until this time. I went there for coloring and even brought in a picture of exactly how I wanted my hair done. Well, the stylist finished coloring my hair and sent me to the blow-dry bar to dry my hair and be on my way. (Beware - the lighting over their blow-dry bar is terrible and you can't really see your hair for how it is under that lighting.) I paid, went home, and saw that what I got was not like the picture I gave the stylist. It was much darker and very drab-looking. So, I called The Parlor back immediately after leaving to let them know I was not happy with my hair, and that it was too drab. I was very nice about it. The receptionist scheduled me for a redo appointment free of charge (at the time). Great, right? You shouldn't be charged for someone to fix your hair if they didn't give you what you asked for. My appointment was scheduled for the following week. Two days before my appointment, I got a call back from them, stating that the manager does not want to give me a free redo because the stylist "felt she gave me what I asked for". They were going to charge me anywhere from "a few foils" to the full price of a partial highlight to fix it. Oh, really? I'm standing here with the picture I referred to and comparing it against what I got, and I can see for myself that I did not get what I asked for, but I guess the stylist's opinion here is more important than what the PAYING CUSTOMER thinks of HER OWN HAIR. Let's be more concerned about what the stylist thinks here, by all means. I felt this incident was very unprofessional and exhibited poor customer service. I used to talk this place up and refer people to it. Not anymore. Will not be back. read more

I use to go to The Parlor, but found something closer to my home. Recently, during Covid, I found it hard to find a place that still adhered to a mask policy. They did, so I decided to try it again. All the employee's were wearing masks, hand sanitizer and spacing between chairs was good. My stylist Jade was very attentive and was careful to make sure of what I wanted to be done with my hair,as far as how I wanted it cut, to the color I wanted my hair to be retouched. My haircut and color looks nice. The only thing I could say wasn't so great, was that I sat there in the Color Bar. It was a long time and not very comfortable. I was there for 2 hour's. Always love this place. I have been going here for years and will continue for years to come. Jen is the best for cuts, but everyone does an excellent job. Gabby is great at waxing my brows. This is the first salon I went to after moving to Wisconsin from New York and I was sold at my very first appointment. The salon is clean and well maintained. The stylists are very talented and professional. The owner is friendly and understands how to create a welcoming environment for all the guests who walk through the door. I used to love coming here... Until they ruined my hair. My normal hair stylist, Jen, is AMAZING. I want to start by saying that this review DOES NOT reflect her. So, I called to make an appt before vacation in July and Jen was booked so the salon offered to put me with someone "comparable." Fine, right? Wrong. It was then that I met Cassie. I asked if she felt comfortable doing my simple highlight. She said "how hard can it be? I won't mess it up." Despite my normal stylist (Jen) leaving her detailed notes on how my hair is done, Cassie took things under her wing and did it her own way. Layering bleach on bleach, not using color protectant, exposing my hair to excessive heat light, and finally - butchering my haircut. I don't normally get my hair cut here because it's a little pricey, but I was FORCED to have it cut that day because my hair was falling out in handfuls from the excessive bleach layering she did. I was mortified. She actually bragged to Jen that she got to be the first person to cut my hair and not Jen. COME ON. Fast forward a few weeks - Jen offered to help fix my hair. We did everything we could to revive it... but no such luck. I have officially lost 11 inches of hair from this catastrophe. At first, the salon owners were helpful and apologetic. However, from July until now (December) we have made 0 progress. They have stopped responding to my emails and have not accommodated my requests. I am sick. Again, I reiterate that Jen is amazing and this does not reflect her. I give her 5 stars all day. But the salon as a whole has made me lose faith. I used to love going there, but now I feel betrayed by them after being nothing but a loyal customer. read more

Wow. I am so glad I asked for a random shout out on Facebook for a salon in my area that could do a decent cut & color that didn't cost a fortune. I made this same day appointment & I truly couldn't be happier. Taylore did an outstanding job. The color is so rich & gorgeous & it completely covered up my gray. The cut is perfect! Fun & modern, yet professional. The front staff was incredibly friendly & offered me a beverage while I waited. The price cannot be beat! Plus I loved that they told me which products were used, but they didn't pressure me into buying them. I will definitely be coming back here! read more

I can't believe this..,my son has gone here for a year and the last two haircuts have been god awful!! First incident resulted in a haircut which looked like she placed a bowl on his head and cut around it went back for a fix and still not great. Second incident within 8 weeks different stylist and the back of his head is cut diagonally crooked. Back AGAIN for another fix up!!! Seriously this is where Germantown people go to get their haircut? Not first complaint I've heard. So frustrating... Made an appointment and went in for my hair cut. My total cost was $44.00, and my hair is not to my satisfaction. I have been to many different Beauty Shops and the average cost is $26.00.
