Lamb Shish for me and Lamb Donner for Pablo (setting his vegetarianism aside yet again for this trip). Lashings of hot sauce, onion and cucumber it was crazy good. The lamb shish is simply delicious - juicy, generous chunks grilled to perfection while you wait. The same can be said for the chicken and lamb kofta, or if you really can't decide - sample all three. The salad's always fresh, and the chips crispy, light and cooked to order. Now I can't comment on their donner, but then it has been years since my last drunken encounter with one of these. To be honest, you're missing the point if you settle for a donner from Brothers when the alternatives are this good. This is an unpretentious little gem and if the wait's too much, just order by phone and pop round to collect. PS. Watch out for the rum baba during the summer months!

After perusing the menu board, I decided that one of the platters would have been too much food. Instead, I decided to get the Chicken Done wrap. It was $5.50 and so worth it. While watching them prepare my wrap, tons of chicken, as well as lettuce, onions, and pickled cabbage adorned the flat bread. It was topped off with their house special sauce. It was a lot of food for the price and I was very full and satisfied after devouring it. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and the other items in the wrap complimented the chicken. I'll be headed home from this vacation in a few days but I will have to come back here to try something else for sure. This place deserves the 5 stars and the staff were friendly and eager to take care of their customers. You won't go wrong with this place. Fast, friendly, resonable, and their food is oh so yummy.

Without the slightest intent of eavesdropping, you hear the juiciest gossip about people you probably will never know. I've now been to Gifto's on three occasions, all at lunchtime, when the restaurant is not nearly as busy as it gets in the evenings. Everything I've tried has been fresh and delicious. The magaz (sheep brain) masala is the best offal dish I've had in many years. The ginger chicken and chili chicken have the perfect flavor profies. Among the breads, the roghni naan (with a very generous topping of sesame seeds) and the tawa paratha are outstanding. I could eat the tawa paratha every afternoon with my tea, and be a happy man. I've never had any issues with the service at Gifto's but I can see how it can come off as somewhat indifferent, especially for those of us visiting from the US, where service is generally oversolicitous.
