Missed the notes. Added vegetables. Asked for no salad. Small meat portion. Oddly cubed small pieces of lamb gyro. Gross gyro. Worst I've had in a while. Never again. Who puts pickles on a gyro???? Insane! read more

Shah’s Halal Food - Worst gyro ever. Pickles and rotten wilted lettuce. Ew. - Halal Near Me - Commack, New York

Came here on a Thursday lunch and it wasn't busy at all. Ordered on dash pass and When i got here the order was just being made. The food was good, a little too much white sauce though. Ordered half chicken half lamb. The size was good and the hot sauce made it perfect. Its not that big of a place but there are a couple of seats. The place was pretty clean and pleasant. Overall good for long island and would come back if I have the halal cravings ! read more

They are always extremely kind, generous, and reliable. They take good care of their regulars, especially Kalim, I've watched their prices go from 6.99 a platter to 9.99 a platter and I can only hope that they increase the employee pay with the menu items. I drive an extra 20 Mins to go to this specific location because of how welcoming they are. Something I'd like to see improve, they need to add a tip option to their credit card machine. They have a cash jar for tips but I never carry cash on me and they deserve to be compensated for excellent customer service. read more

Very friendly staff and food tastes fresh. I come here every now and then when I am in the area and they never disappoint.

The best shahs halal food is here. There's never a line, store is clean and service is quick. Only downfall is that the portions seems smaller then other Shahs. read more

Best halal food out there in Commack. Always made fresh and consistent -- must try if you are around the area.

Good food, good service, nice workers, yay yum yay yum yay yum yay yum yum yum yum yum

I tried their falafel wrap and was impressed with the amount of filling. Decent pricing and proportions, good for a lunchtime meal. They also have a good variety of sauces to try and are nice enough to give them on the side to try. Overall a cool Chipotle-esque Halal concept that's open late. read more

The chicken and lamb and beef were delicious along with their salad won't be disappointed.

One word....delicious. Very happy I decided to stop here for lunch. The food was great, easily some of the best halal I've had. Very flavorful and "clean" tasting. The meat was super tender & VERY well seasoned. Gyro Combo (Chicken/Lamb) 4/5, as already mentioned above, this was delicious. Tons of meat and a really nice portion of sauce and fillers. Only reason it's a 4 star review is because it was really messy due to the way it was wrapped..or not wrapped, it was more of a taco so eating this in the car proved to be quite difficult. Overall, I was impressed with the food. Fair prices and I will definitely be back. read more

Costumer service is nice and the foods great!!!!!!10/10 will come again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Food is always excellent. Taste cleaner than any other fast food around here. I get the fish platter at least once a week.

Great food- lamb platter is my favorite. One of my top favorite take outs in the area. Friendly staff- Kalim is kind and courteous!

I may be late to the whole halal chicken and rice party, but my curiosity got the best of me so much so that I had to try Shah's Halal Food in Commack. I realize that this probably isn't the more well known chicken and rice establishment from NYC, but thought to try it out to get an overall sense of what this food is all about. Walking into the place, it was very clean and brightly lit, and the counter set up is reminiscent of something like Moe's, Chipotle, etc.: Steamer trays filled with assorted items and you pick and choose what you want on your dish. They are known for their platters which consist of a base of basmati rice, and you pick your protein of chicken, lamb, falafel, Kofta kebab, fish, or a combination of items. I decided to go with chicken and lamb, and as for the toppings, I went with a cucumber salad, iceberg lettuce, chickpeas, hummus, and all of that was baptized by their white sauce. (I've been told to get the hot sauce as well next time) Sorry for the poor photos but hopefully you can see how packed the take away tin was packed. With something like this, I would have preferred to have it all blended and tossed together like a salad, but I basically had to eat through layers, mix things together, go through another later, etc. Despite all that food shuffling around, I thought that the rice, chicken and lamb was quite tasty. I had to try a non sauced bite of chicken, lamb, lamb and chicken of course at first before I went to mix it all together and it was flavorful. They also offer this in a pita as a gyro, so if rice isn't your carb of choice, you have options, including no carbs and having this over a bed of salad of your choice. Other food items include a cheeseburger, chicken sandwich, chicken Philly or classic Philly cheesesteak. This was quite filling that I've saved half of this for leftovers tomorrow and the best part is that the platter was like $8. Got a Snapple for my drink and the total was $11 and change. If there was one thing that didn't hit home to me is that I found some bits of the lamb was perhaps over cooked so it had like a crunchy, meat crouton sort of texture to it but it wasn't that big of a deal overall. Overall rating and experience, I'd give this 4/5 falafels: a solid place if you want something slightly different than other fast casual establishments, I think this was a great value for what you get at the price point. read more

Food is good and very reasonably priced, we got a little bit of everything to try out. The best was the kofta and the falafels. The sauces are yummy too. Everything was ready by the time we arrived for pick up. Inside is pretty basic, clean and well kept but deff more of a take out spot. Give it a try when you're indecisive about what to have for dinner because there's a little bit of everything on the menu! read more

I had the falafel bowl with grilled veggies and added hummus with pita. I put the green chili sauce on top as well and the flavors just popped! As a recent transplant here, I am accustomed to Halal guys chain. This was way superior and my husband who is originally from the area highly agreed! He had the lamb bowl and said we are def coming back! read more

Me and 2 other coworkers decided to order from here for lunch. Before placing our order I called this location to ask if anything was gluten free. When I called and asked the man sounded confused and had no idea what gluten was. I asked if I could speak to someone else and he hung up the phone. I called back 2 times and no answer. It really is a shame that you now lost 3 customers simply because your employees cannot recognize a major food allergy. read more

Always incredible service. Workers remember our order and are extremely helpful. Food is incredible super face service. Our favorite halal

Their best sellers looks like it's cooked and kept in a warmer.. good option for when those customers mindset has been to "grab-n-go" as the customers who approached a food-cart. I was happy with their pricing, portion sizes.. the mix of their rice, meats and onion. And their white-hot & green sauces. Came in for a quick grabs something before the next appt and it was perfect. The vibe of the place was youthful and strong fast-food approach. read more

A must go! If you like classic street meat but much cleaner this is the place for you. They take the same taste and flavor but lost the gross dirty cart. You cannot beat the amount of food for the price. I could drink the white sauce straight out of the bottle. Try the green also very tasty. I will be a regular customer here. read more

Went in on opening day and there was quite a queue. We got a combo and a falafel platter. Service was fast and the food was good. I did expect the same from Shah's, didn't disappoint at all. Loved the flavors and taste of the platter. I got almost all of the additional salads, chickpeas and hummus on my platter. They were fresh and were a good accompaniment to the meat/falafel and rice. Good portions too, filled me up. read more

Beware eating here. My family ate here last week. Me and my two teenage sons all got the chicken platter and the next day we all had bad food poisoning. 8hrs of diarrhea and stomach cramps. Something definitely changed cause we've eaten here before and never had issue but won't be eating here again. Not worth the risk. S**ts Halal read more

Delicious, affordable, plentiful! I looove this place! And the people that work there are very nice.

All I've really had are the platters, lamb and chicken. Both are delicious. And very generous as well as very reasonably priced. The red sauce can be quite hot sometimes. I would go with one stripe if you don't like it too hot. Two if you do. read more
