Well try this on for size. Starbucks? It's in here. Fresh stone hearth baked pizzas? It's in here. In store cafe that sells wine by the glass and more micro brews than you can shake a stick at...it's in here, Sizzling Wok Stir Fry station with bar seating and a Sushi Station? Yup, in here too! There's also a great salad bar, hot bar, antipasti bar, fresh made hot and cold subs and much more. Back in the day you'd go to a grocery store and....yeah...just buy groceries! Crazy right? How times have changed, and for the better! So why do I come here? The Pad Thai from the Sizzling Wok Chinese and Thai Cuisine is kinda amazing! I make a point to try and stop in once a week if I can. Not a Pad Thai guy(or gal)? Well there's plenty of other choices on the menu such as Kung Pao Shrimp, Mongolian Beef, Thai Basil Chicken and much much more. For you vegetarians out there, there's also a nice selection of all veggie dishes. Almost everything on the menu is under $10 and if you can get there between 11-3 the lunch specials are even cheaper. The cooks are always very pleasant and I can't recall ever having anything but a satisfying experience here. There is a sushi bar on the other side of the Wok with plenty of pre-made sushi if you're on the go. If you're looking to dine in, sushi is made to order as well, with some seating at the bar. Attention! to all you self proclaimed sushi snobs! This isn't Sushi 86 or Ginko or Parallax....this is a grocery store so let's be realistic with the expectations. Everything is like 33% more than it should be and the ambiance/service/reward program doesn't come close to redeeming the upcharge. But since I constantly have to buy little things here and there during my lunch hour, I spend way too much time at this store due to convenience. They have so many varieties to choose from and I just had to have the luck of the Irish cheddar to take home with me. I did try the dill pickle at the counter and it was definitely homemade and delicious. The service was so helpful and the layout was great to move back and forth to see the cheeses, pickles, trail mix, and sweets. As soon as we got home we started sampling the cheeses with crackers. The goat cheese and luck of the Irish cheese was wonderful! You won't be disappointed if you stop by.

We went to the candy shop last and got stone home made fudge, The BEST gummy bears and some chocolate covered pecans and raisins. This was a great stop!!

However, a manager rudely spoke to a cashier making many people in the store uncomfortable and wanting to encourage her. Even when we are upset we should handle others carefully outside of the atmosphere of the customers. His attitude definitely affected the ambiance. It was nice to see everything clean as well. I don't think I've ever come here and seen rotten fruit or an area really dirty. It's definitely worth a visit coming here - the fresh, delicious fruit, clean ambiance and kind cashiers will make your visit so worth it!

Akron has invested heavily in bicycling infrastructure, with more than 122 miles of shared-use paths and approximately 50 miles of bike lanes. These routes allow residents to use bicycles not simply for recreation, but as a practical means of transportation for commuting, shopping, and getting to essential services. Unfortunately, when bicyclists arrive at Dave's Market on Exchange Street, there is currently no safe, usable, and secure bicycle rack where customers can lock their bicycles while shopping. This is more than an inconvenience. I have personally had two bicycles stolen from this location over the past four years, representing approximately $2,000 in losses. I know I am not the only person who has difficulty finding a safe place to secure a bicycle while shopping. The need is particularly important in the East Side/Middlebury area. The area has been identified as a food desert, making access to the grocery store especially important for residents who may rely on bicycles, walking, or other forms of transportation rather than a personal automobile. We appreciate having a Dave's Market in our community and recognize the important service the store provides. However, customers who depend on bicycles for transportation are effectively being told that they cannot safely secure their primary means of transportation while shopping. I respectfully ask Dave's Market to consider installing a high-quality, securely anchored bicycle rack in a visible and convenient location near the store entrance. Ideally, it would be a rack that allows customers to securely lock both the bicycle frame and wheels and provides enough space for several bicycles. This relatively small investment could make a significant difference to people in our community. It would encourage customers to shop at Dave's, support bicycle transportation, reduce the risk of bicycle theft, and demonstrate that Dave's Market recognizes bicycles as legitimate transportation--not simply toys or recreational equipment.
