Such a cozy little place! The plants and rough brickwork give it a lived in feeling that lends itself to real conversations, knocking out work assignments, and indulging all your hallmark meet-cute dreams. The coffee is good, though I've seen a few order mix-ups. Their fall menu is delicious! It's got your classics (the iconic PSL) as well as some rarer options like apple cider and cinnamon dulce. My biggest problem is that they've gotten rid of their deliciously famous cinnamon rolls. Truly a loss! read more

I love this little coffee shop in Murray! We stopped in Friday for the first time and I tried one of their seasonal lattes. They also had a small menu of savory breakfast food items and baked goods in the case. I tried the cinnamon roll heated up, and it was delicious! I'm not from the area, and so I went back Saturday to get my Schaffer fix. I love that they make their own syrups. Drinks may take a little longer to come out, but the quality is there. I look forward to visiting again when I'm back in town. read more

This might be my new favorite coffee shop! I'm obsessed with the interior- very modern and cozy!! Plenty of seating, friendly staff, and very good coffee! My mom got a Caramel Cappuccino which had a subtle caramel taste that wasn't too sweet or overwhelming! I tried their Mocha and wow!! Perfect temperature and sweetness level! My mom also ordered their Loaded Avocado Toast which was gone too fast to snap a picture!! read more

We ordered 2 egg sandwiches, a plain black coffee and a black tea. After 30 mins we got our sandwiches but no drinks. Waited another 15mins after we were done with our sandwiches and I finally had to go up and ask where the hell were our drinks.. Oh I'm sorry I'm swamped with orders...duh I can see that but we ordered way before these 20 other people. Oh and you need more than 2 people working if it's that freaking busy on a Saturday. I'm sorry but the service is not even remotely acceptable as far as I'm concerned and I am a very tolerant person. And your waffle in your waffle sandwich was soft and not great. And the sandwich order was not even correct to top it off. I will never return read more

YESSSyesss and yesssss always recommend this place, the only place that makes me feel people still into making real coffee and latte!!! I have been in good places and rated it cuz I liked their latte but usually they forget about making the espresso shot to have a taste!!!! Here the staff are SUPERRRRRRRR FRIENDLY lovely and they work their behind a bar of knowledge in what exactly they are doing. Huge fan of Shaffer Coffee. I work remotely for a software startup so I live in coffee shops and know a good one when I see it. Shaffer is the best in Murray. Really good atmosphere, the baristas know what they are doing. Power outlets where you need them and they have tables tall enough to let you stand while you work! So many small things that make a big difference. This is why I work out of Shaffer Coffee at least 2-3 times a week. read more

Same excellent beans and flawless execution. They use beans from Piper's Coffee in neighboring Paducah, KY, but having traveled to both places numerous times for business, I have to say that the baristas here have consistently produced superior pour-overs. Way to go, Shaffer's. read more

I absolutely love this coffee shop! It has a great atmosphere and I love the decor and style. Their pour overs are amazing! Very nice baristas. Too bad the owner, or whoever the lady is that's "trying to run a business," is rude to her guests...openly...in front of other guests. My friends and I have never been treated this way and were appalled that someone who's trying to run a business, called their guests tacky...FOUR TIMES..for bringing in food from somewhere else. They stopped serving food at 1pm and we were hungry. We weren't doing anything that upset other guests, we were just studying. And the owner has the audacity to call us tacky. The boss greeted me and my friend today outside after we finished class online. She said to us, in front of other guests that were outside, that we were tacky because we brought in food to eat. However, they stopped serving food at 1 and it was 1:30. We are college students and we were hungry, therefore, we went out to get food and came back to study. Cool place. Lots of places to sit and plug in laptops. The coffee is excellent and is in my opinion the best Murray has ever had.
