This brewery does everything right! It's unique, local and friendly and the beer selection is great. It's actually in a house that looks like a house, and it has a large outdoor space with plenty of seating and great beer garden ambiance. There were a couple guys grilling burgers and steaks out back, and they were selling fast. The inside beer line gets a little long at times but it is worth the wait. read more

I've been hearing whispers about The Dam Brewhaus for a while, so I finally made the trek--and let me tell you, it's worth the detour. If you're coming from the Paducah side of the lake, it's a quick and easy stop, but don't blink or you'll miss it. From the road, it looks like someone just decided to open a brewery in their grandma's house... and honestly, that might be exactly what happened. But once you walk through the front door, it's full of cozy, quirky charm that totally fits the vibe. We stopped in on a Sunday and were greeted by live music inside that flowed effortlessly out to the back patio and big open lawn. The beer lineup includes their own creations plus a few guest taps featuring other local craft brews. Prices are super reasonable for the craft scene, and the flights are a great way to explore--especially when your bartender is as awesome as ours and sneaks you a couple bonus tasters just for fun. Outside, there's a full stage and tons of green space, so I can only imagine the summer concert nights are a whole thing (and I will be back for one). We also grabbed some food--quick, tasty, and exactly what you want with a cold beer in hand. Highly recommend the spicy cheeseballs and a pour of the Thunderstruck, aged in Four Roses barrels. We were looking for a beer and found this place online, intending to have lunch too, but arrived before 3pm when the kitchen opens. Beers were good, had the haus hazy, Irish red and black ipa. All tasty and expected. Sort of a quaint little spot, in a converted house, which was part of the appeal to stop. Looked like they had a patio in the back, but it was a little cool when we stopped in. Would definitely stop back through when in the area. read more

Don't blink or you might miss it and you sure don't want to do that! It's set back from the road so if you aren't from the area have your directional app on so you turn at the drive. Looks like a house with parking to the side. Staff was very friendly and welcoming! We were actually there on Valentine's Day and they were giving small gifts to the ladies to celebrate the day! Very charming. As the name suggests, they take their beer seriously, 22 taps for local craft brews. I chose the Dungeon, a Dam Brewhaus red ale and it was a good choice. We both had the Dam Dirty Burger for our meal and it proved to be a good burger! I had fries, husband chose the onion rings, both well done. Everything about this down home microbrewery is absolutely perfect! My husband and I both thoroughly enjoyed our burgers and the tots were fantastic! We were able to enjoy a beautiful day while we sat out back in the beer garden. The Brewhaus has a very comfortable atmosphere, with friendly service. We have heard about the Singo (bingo with songs) and trivia nights and can't wait to go back on one of those evenings! read more

I am a local and let me tell you, this is the only beer joint that offers any type of selection of great local and US microbreweries. The place was an abandoned house and Jeff the owner had the foresight to turn this beautiful little home in to a cozy places to hang with friends. Oh my gosh, there are just no words to describe how special this place is. The entire property is magical and so peaceful and the inside is packed full of people laughing and talking and enjoying their craft beer. Being from California's, my husband and I literally sat outside, enjoyed 2 flights of Local Beers, a couple of pints of our favorites, while we just sat and listened and soaked in everything around us. The Smoked Bologna basket was to die for. The owners, Jeff and Sherri, smoke it each morning and it literally melts in your mouth. If that evening and those hours sitting outside under the lit trees, in the arm summer air enjoying amazing beer and awesome company, could be bottled up and sold, I'd do it! Except, the Dam Brewhaus already has!!!! You have to go... it's a very special experience. I live in a places referred to as hop highway, known for their breweries, and this by far is the most special experiences yet. Had the opportunity to taste their own Dirty Damn Blonde brew.... Quaint, charming and friendly place for excellent craft beer and tasty bar food! Check out the entertainment on Friday evenings too. The outside back area is also quite nice. You just can't get any better than the Dam Brewhaus with awesome proprietors Jeff and Sheri Swatzell, superb beer-tenders, and a kitchen that serves up some excellent food - plus tasty 'specials' regularly. My husband and I wandered into this beer joint on the suggestion of a couple of locals, when we were visiting to view the totality of the solar eclipse (which was AMAZING). This area of western Kentucky is pretty rural and this county was "dry" until less than years ago. So, yeah, no night life per se. So it was a real delight to walk into this pub and find Jeff & Sherry, the owners, behind the bar, pouring cold pints along with heaping doses of southern welcoming charm. There also happened to be a patron who was playing his guitar and taking requests. Soon a bar full of apparent strangers were all singing "Hallelujah" (Leonard Cohen), before going on to "You Never Even Called Me By My Name," and "Family Tradition" (of course). The pub itself is a completely renovated tumbledown house, that features several different charming rooms and a large area outback with games like cornhole. They also have pub trivia on Thursday nights. They serve a rotating list of 20 some odd microbrews on tap (we enjoyed The Dude and Cougar Bait), as well as cider and a few light beers in bottles, for the timid. They don't serve food, but they do apparently allow food to be brought in. We will certainly drop in again on our next road trip through this beautiful countryside. read more
