I ordered a hamburger since I hadn't had one in months due to a diet I had taken on of no carbs. I took one bite and spit it out in my napkin, the meat tasted rotten! I waved down the server and asked her to take it back and asked for the menu so I could order something else. To her credit, she was very considerate, and after I ordered buffalo wings, she comped my meal. The funny thing was the health inspector literally walked in 10 minutes after I sent the food back and they were all back there going through an inspection, lol. We are from Indiana and played two rounds at Paris Landing. We had (8) people who were hungry and we found this place online. We arrive at 7:45pm and (granted online says close at 9pm as well as the posted hours on the front door). Three people inside all drinking beer and waitress said, "I'm sorry, we have been dead all night and owner said to close early." I explained we have (8) people. She said, "well it cost us more to stay open." I stated we will have $30-$40 per person ($320-$400) extra for the business to stay open till their posted hours. She then said, "I'm sorry." We come to Kentucky once a year for a trip and would have been one of our regular stops, but now we will never stop there. This is year 10 of coming down. Here. Word to owner - Maybe tell your crew that if a large group shows up, 1.25 hours before regular shut down/close time, to go ahead and serve them. Hop Hound Brew Pub was okay. The service was good and the drinks were good, but the food was not. One thing I noticed as soon as we got seated was the quality of the menus. The paper menus were dirty and crinkled. I would suggest getting menus that can be wiped down. They felt so dirty. The buffalo chicken flatbread was not good. The chicken was slimy and the flatbread was cheap. The atmosphere was upbeat and the Edison lights were a nice touch. I think I would only go there for drinks and to hangout, not for a meal. My wife and I went to HHBP on a Friday at a little after 1:00pm, so it was not crowded. We were seated immediately and the waitperson took our drink order. They had ten of their own beers on tap. I was especially pleased they had what many would consider a "winter beer" option, (bourbon barrel stout) even though it was June. We settled on fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese (not the jalapeño version) and the chicken, bacon, and ranch flatbread. The fried green tomatoes came out first, hot (perfect temp) and with a delightful balance of sweetness and tartness, the best I have had. The pimento cheese was a nice complement. The flatbread might have been a little heavy on the ranch dressing (my wife's take) but was a terrific combination of flavors. Our waitperson was was attentive and very helpful. I wish I could remember her name. I will compensate by increasing my tip on our next trip. We will definitely be back. read more

The menu was not large but had a variety of options. If unsure about a beer taste they will give you a sample. I ordered a flight with 4 flavors, 2 were good, 1 ok and the 4th one tasted like grape cough syrup but I told the waitress what I normally get and she did her best. I should have asked for samples. My husband also got a flight with 4 different beers and we switched up some. The sandwich portions are large. The beer cheese was really good and hot. The kids menu had chicken but I am not sure my granddaughter liked them and they didn't look tasty either. They do not have dessert items. read more

We have been here several times and usually receive at least okay service. However, we came in earlier this week and were ignored. I stood at the hostess stand for several minutes before anyone came up (no big deal as I am sure they were busy). Two employees finally came over, but didn't greet me. Food is always amazing! I usually get my food to go, which I think is my best option. I have been inside the restaurant twice to eat, and both times the service was horrible. On BOTH occasions, we had to wait at least 20-25 minutes after receiving our drinks (WATER) before we got to order our food. I could understand if they were busy, but in both instances, there were maybe 3 or 4 four-tops seated. It took us an hour to get our food, which is not ok during lunch hour. My husband and I went last night. The ambiance was nice. The service was fine. The waitress was friendly when we saw her. The food was not good at all. We even had two of the specials. My husband had the cowboy ribeye. It was full of gristle. My crab legs and corn on the cob were way overcooked. We were both very disappointed. We won't go back. Well, I'm back with the reviews as I stopped for a while. Decided to try this cute little pub in the town I moved to. Murray, KY. I had the BBQ and slaw sandwich. Very tender pork belly, but A good pulled pork sandwich needs a nice slaw and sauce. It was a good sandwich, I just needed an extra side of sauce..probably could've did another helping of slaw. Great vibe! Happened across this place while visiting Murray to help with tornado cleanup and glad I did! Wide microbrew selection (try the lager), delicious apps and amazing looking entrees. Beyond that, the staff and management were obviously grateful to have their guests and spent time with each one. Even on a quiet Monday night, this place was popping. Maybe this was more disappointing, because the food in pictures looks so good! The atmosphere is cute... the service was good. A couple of the drinks on the mimosa flight were pretty okay! Our waitress was nice! But the food was crap and there were a lot of flies. The menu would be better if it had descriptions of the items. Entrees came with a side that seemed like pretty good options! The hash brown casserole was bland and a little like cream of mushroom soup. The strawberry pancakes were mediocre but the most edible thing I ate. The biscuits were dry/bland and the gravy tasted awful. I know food cost are up! But if you can't afford to serve a full amount of chicken then you shouldn't serve it. My son said his waffles were good, but couldn't finish them because they were overly sweet. However he left hungry, because he had 1 1/2 chicken strips served on his waffles. Someone checked on us at the end and asked us how it was, maybe the owner or manager, we said fine... because they already knew what they were serving and working with. The only ones who didn't know was us and now we are aware too. Won't be back, but if you like it I'm glad for you! Just wish we hadn't wasted our money. I Burgers were good, soda was flat, chicken sandwich consisted of two processed chicken tenders on a bun...terrible, and service was slow and infrequent. So we decided on a local brewery and we'll I'm just not sure about it. We were told to pick a seat and the waitress was very busy. After a few minutes she came back and gave us menus and took drink orders. I had a flight of beers and all of them were good until I tried Raggity Andy. That one I had to ask about because it was supposed to be an amber but it was foul. Tasted like something got into the batch and went bad. The waitress was really nice and replaced it with a coffee stout and it was very good. The food came out and it was average at best. The chicken and waffles had two little bitty chicken strips but the waffles were good. Burger was bare bones and tasted strong of garlic. So all and all, good beer, average food and okay service. TL;DR: I spent the next two days doubled over and shivering from food poisoning. -- I was excited to try out the new location, since I ate at the old location and it was far too small for the number of people they jammed in there. So, I and a couple of friends got there, and stood there 15 minutes just to speak with someone. I wasn't alone, as 4 people in front of me were equally ignored for that same timespan. When someone I assume was a hostess got to me I was informed I should have made a reservation (at a pub?). But the wait ended up not being that long, so no big deal. We ordered some of their special beer, of which offered a nice variety and one of them I liked. Good so far. We ordered 2 appetizers and 3 entrees, and this is where it went bad. We were into our second drink by the time the food got served, and it came all at once, barely fitting on the tiny table. The person (the hostess woman) who brought them apologized for it and said she'd comp the appetizers. No harm no foul, I guess. I ordered cheese sticks, nachos, and a mushroom swiss burger with fries. The cheese sticks were room temperature, the " nachos" were just tortilla chips with jalapeno slices and dead cold (and not much) shredded cheese that was, at one point I assume, melted. And it came with mayo (why?). Both had clearly been sitting for quite a while before getting to us. My entree, the mushroom swiss with fries, came and the burger *looked* great, but after picking it up was clearly 50% fat and topped with yet more mayo (what's with the mayo?), as the bottom bun was a soggy mess and the burgers were so dripping with fat I could only eat half before feeling like I'd get sick if I tried to finish it. The burger patties were decent size, but I swear I bit into a couple of pieces of cartilage, which was super gross. The fries were, again, room temp and somehow worse than any fries I've ever had, including grade school lunch. They were half the size of McDonald's and flavorless. Upon getting the bill, neither appetizer was comped, so I paid full price for a meal full of cold and, at best room temp, junk. Junk which, as the tldr states, gave me two days of food poisoning. I'm writing this review after midnight in bed, because there's no way I'm getting any sleep tonight, as my abdomen feels like it's filled with acid and I've been shivering for hours from the infection. All in all, $66 plus tip for school cafeteria garbage, just to spend the next two days in pain and having to call in sick to work. I was really hoping Hop Hound would be the first quality pub in Murray, but clearly they are all show followed by two days of pain-filled "go", if you know what I mean. Let's hope this awful experience was just a growing pain from a newly opened business, but I'll never risk finding out. Overall, a nice big, well designed pub with an atmosphere that betrays the nasty food poisoning they (eventually) dish out. Avoid like the plague, because that's what they serve. Recently had the pleasure of dining here for lunch. I had the pulled BLT and my friend had the smash burger. We each had half of the other's sandwich and both were So so so good. Like they have no business being that delicious and I'm questioning the sanity of those that have left negative reviews lol. The pulley BLT specifically was heavenly. Food is always cold and mediocre at best. The service is always awful. The staff is super hateful and it's always at least 45 minutes or more before getting your food. Super overpriced for what they give you. There are much better local places to eat in Murray. I wouldn't waste time or money here anymore. Scared to death of getting sick, I haven't sat down at a restaurant in Murray since March of 2020, but I decided to go for a run and end up at Hop Hound at a reasonable time (2:45 PM) to see if I could social distance on the porch. And it was a great experience. The employees treat everyone with absolute care. I've had take out and delivery from here before so I can attest that the food is great, but mostly I want to thank Hop Hound for - the first time in a while - making me feel like the world is getting back to order, even if it's not. Once I can go places without a mask, I'll be a frequent customer. read more
