We came in and we were a large party but it took them a long time to get out order out and we had to wait until all the other tables had been served before we got our food. It came out just before I was about to get upset as we had been waiting for almost an hour and with nothing on the menu requiring a long cook time I had started to be frustrated. Mehhh. My personal experience was probably only around a 2-2.5, but we came with a large party and it seems like I fared on the worse side of things, so I'll rate a 3. My in laws and I were in town for an extended family reunion. We were looking for a place to have lunch before everyone gathered later in the afternoon. Originally we were just gonna DoorDash something to the hotel, but after finding our options kind of limited, we decided on this place because they had sandwich/wrap type options and an extensive selection for drinks, per the concierge at the hotel. Even on a Saturday, they were able to accommodate our party of 8 quickly. It's a large restaurant and very open. As many others have noted, it is extremely loud inside even at half capacity, such that it can be a little challenging to hear party members. The atmosphere gives fairly standard bar/brewery vibes. Supposedly they have a lot of beers, but they were out of the kind of beer my father in law wanted. I will give major credit to the waitstaff. It did take a touch long for our food to come out, but overall the waitresses were working hard, and maintained a pleasant and professional demeanor even after a touch of razzing from some of the older folks in our party (sorry, y'all!) The food sadly wasn't anything special. Three out of the 8 people got the wings, and that seemed to be okay at least. Husband gave them a 3.5/5. The fries he ordered with them were also just okay, unobjectionable but not noteworthy. My brother in law got some kind of Buffalo chicken sandwich and really didn't like it. Husband tasted it and agreed it was lacking. Basically no flavor to the chicken tenders at all. I had the southwestern quesadilla with sweet potato fries. Neither wowed. The peppers were cut too large and were watery and cumbersome. The ingredients were distributed kind of oddly, so you'd get bites of just cheese, or just chicken, or just peppers, rather than a coherent whole. The sweet potato fries had basically no flavor at all. The honey dipping sauce that came with them improved things a bit, but I still felt very lukewarm about them. On the other hand, my husband's aunt also ordered them and really liked them, so YMMV. Personally, I'd probably try another spot before returning here, but options are a little limited in this area so this may be your best bet depending on what kind of meal and atmosphere you want. Lots of people say they have great burgers here, so perhaps try one of those. read more

What can I say about Hops and Barley, it's a pretty good burger place. The next time I'm in the area I'll be stopping back in. We had a pretty big group that went in on a busy Saturday night mixed with kids and adults. The server did a great job taking care of our group and all the needs. I was a little reluctant at first about this place because of other places like Hops an Barley, but soon I found out that there s no other place like this! So. Good. Now in my personal opinion I'm not a huge brown gravy fan so I asked for no gravy but I think the mashed potatoes would go well with either country gravy or queso. Either one. I went because the Yelp reviews were so good. As everyone else has said, the place is very loud. The burger was good but it needed some seasoning. The beef itself was bland. It must have been obvious that I was from out of town because the bar staff seemed to know everyone else around me. We ordered the dinner hamburger steak with peppers, onions and cheese and it was fantastic. The baked potato was very well prepared. I also ordered their large "Delux Bloody Mary Drink and it was fantastic. It had severe green olives, three shirmp, a large piece of fried bacon and a pickle on top. A must go! A local restaurant and bar that is definitely the place to be. They have many burgers to choose from along with some secret ones too! I recently tried the spinach pasta and it was delicious. It came with a salad and garlic bread on the side. I got the half portion and there was still leftovers. The menu looked good I could eat a lot of the food on it.I ordered the Mac n cheese and the spinach artichoke burger. The Mac n cheese had queso in it- good little kick but I wouldn't eat it again. The burger was good! Maybe would have liked to have it seasoned more, but the spinach artichoke dip on the burger as like a sauce was a great idea. First timer. Recommended by the employees in the branch I was working who said it was their go to place. "Everything on the menu is good!" they said with one saying the fish tacos were her favorite; and another, the steak. I try to avoid fried food during the week while on the road. I was pleasantly surprised at the options I had. The grilled catfish and grilled asparagus with a side salad was my choice. Was it the best I've ever had? No, but I cleaned my plate and I was very satisfied. The catfish was a hearty portion; lightly grilled and tender. The hamburgers around me looked more to be the staple but I definitely was pleased with my order. The list of beers were impressive and diverse for a small divey place. I didn't venture out much instead trying a Budlight Orange served cold with a juicy orange slice. Might be a new fave. The area is not known for great beer tap list. So, this place having three or four craft beers on tap is a home tun. Place is loud. I heard they have great burgers but when I ordered the brisket burger I got a brisket sandwich. No sauce except a side of honey. Boring and no smoked taste. We always like to try the local food when traveling versus chain restaurants. I read reviews on this restaurant and chose this one to try for dinner and decided that we would not be back for another meal. The food was just ok. Our server kept getting changed out as they were moved to other tables so we never knew who our current server was. My kids had to eat half of their dinner with no drink and their cups were empty when the food was brought to our table. The server said she would be right back to refill them but we had to ask 2 different people before they finally were refilled. The biggest issue we had with this visit was the number of non working people that kept going in and out of the kitchen. I am sure it was family or friends, but there was a table of 6-8 that were eating and all but one of them were in and out of the kitchen constantly, including a baby being carried by someone and small children.
