Fritz Stanley verbally abused me outside his trailer shop at 10pm. I've been a long time resident of Cypress 20+ years and was verbally abused by Fritz one night he seemed drunk and thinks he owns the sidewalks in a 2000sqft radius of the shop. I have purchased parts for my trailer at the shop previous to this encounter and was extremely pleased with the older folks working inside the business. After this incident with Fritz I will never go around this shop and tell everyone I know to stay away. I bought a trailer tire for a spare from their trailer-wheels.com website and they one that they sent out is a dried out nasty 4 year old tire. Be careful if you buy anything from these guys you may be throwing money in the trash!!! Don't be a fool like me and think you are getting a better deal. You can go to discount or America's and get the same tires for a few bucks more and get something that is a couple of months old or less. read more

It can be a little pricey here for parts and service but that the price you pay for an establishment that has every part you can imagine in stock. They are pretty quick. Went here for a few questions but did not end up doing business here. From what I experienced, they were very friendly and honest. They seem to know their stuff really well and not just some random shop trying to milk you for your money. I didn't end up doing business with them simply because the shop that already had my trailer offered me a better price I couldn't resist. Some of their simpler services were a little on the pricier side compared to other shops but major jobs seem to be on par with other shops (for my own research purposes). For example, on a boat trailer, to have the bearings replaced (new parts) was just under $200/axle whereas others offered me $100/axle. On a larger project of having the drum brakes converted to disk brakes, their estimate was about $1,000 for one axle which is close to what I was previously quoted at another shop. If you need parts, their prices are fairly reasonable for many parts needed and you have the convenience of not having to wait on shipping if you live in the area. I could see that they do ship a lot since they have a whole setup to ship parts from their store/warehouse. While I hope to not need any repairs, this is definitely a shop I would consider when the time comes for a repair. read more

Avoid this classic rip off shop at all costs. Shadow Trailers did horrible work on my boat trailer. I brought this up with Fritz Stanley, who had an attitude during all of our business dealings and was pretty much told to pound sand. I was not aware that my classic trailer had a bent frame when I took it in for a new coupler to we welded on. Instead of having good customer service ans calling me, they kept this a secret and welded the coupler on crooked to compensate for the bent frame. They also charged me an extra $40 for acetylene, which has always been part of the job. I had to ask twice for them to replace the flat bar on my trailer, which was rubbing a hole in my classic boats hull. They did an ok job on it but did not take the time to paint it, so its already rusting and needs to come back off. The first time that I asked about replacing it was when I dropped the boat off and Fritz replied "your just like everyone else". It did not make it on the R.O that day, I had to ask again and make it clear that I was happy to pay for it. To top it all off, they broke the law when they rewired my trailer with out asking me. This was unauthorized work which is extreamly illegal and the better business bureau will be contacted about their practices. They did get my lights to work but did a poor quality job by leaving the wires dangling and with out protective coating. I had to ask for a zip tie to hold them together and buy an extra adapter to connect the electrical to my truck. When I came to pick up the trailer, I was in a hurry and it was not ready to go. The safety chains that I asked them to replace were still on the trailer and we had to shorten them and add a hook to connect it to my hitch. At least they did not charge me for that. I politely mentioned my concerns about the quality of their work and that I had some place to be. I showed up a few days later to confront Fritz in his office, to keep what had to be said private. Fritz tried to intimidate me and said "outside now" in a loud and confrontational tone as he threw his arms up in the air. When he saw that I do not intimidate easily, he became defensive. He then made promises to repair the trailer "which is now in Needles" but was not willing to commit to a time table. He also said he would refund the $55 of illegal and unauthorized electrical work yesterday but today claims that he won't do anything for me and that I needed electrical to be legal on the road. When I shook his hand yesterday, he yelled out "let go of my hand and was ready to fight", then asked why I held onto his hand so long. Even my wife had comments on his behavior and attitude. He told me to sue him yesterday, if I was not happy with his work. Today I gave Fritz the same Ultimatum that I did yesterday, option #1 repair the trailer properly at no cost to me, option #2 refund $260 of my bill "the cost of the coupler that will now need to be cut off and re-welded back on". Option #3 have your reputation trashed. Fritz choose option #3. It is sad when a business owner does not care about the quality of their work, their customers or their reputation. It's even worse when they are given a chance to avoid a review like this but choose not to. I have photos of the poor quality work and of the invoice and R.O. I would be happy to provide them to anyone who would like to see them. All the work done by these clowns will now need to be redone by professionals and I am out $449.80. Lesson learned to check yelp and not go off of what your buddy tells ya. The more that I have looked into these guys and the more that I have asked around about them, the more I am starting to feel that I deserved to get burnt for using them. I have heard a couple of other horror stories about them in the last week. You have been warned about Fritz and his company Shadow Trailers. I called Shadow trailers and talked to Richard there. I had to order a very inexpensive part. It was a actuator fill cap whopping $ 8.00 purchase. Richard handled it with great care just as it was a very expensive order, I was very impressed. Furthermore my credit card transaction was declined for an address error that was my fault. He hung in there and updated me till the transaction finally went thru. I received the part the very next day. A fill cap obviously is a very vital part of this system and I was seriously stranded if it weren't for the fast and courteous service of Shadow trailer and Richard there. This place is terrible. First time I ordered trailer wheels, they said IN STOCK on their website. About 4-5 days went by with no shipping email so I called them. They told me they actually were NOT in stock, but on backorder, then tried to sell me another wheel instead. I said no thanks and asked for a refund. A few weeks later I decided on another style wheel for my trailer. I called them and specifically asked if the wheels were in stock. The lady put me on hold, then came back and said YES they are in stock and will ship out tomorrow. So I place the order. Same thing, days went by, no email, so I called and was told that actually these wheels were NOT in stock, but on backorder, and did I want to wait for weeks until they came in? HELL NO. I cancelled that order too, and will never use these people again. Brought my trailer in for new fenders and wheels. Fritz made some great suggestions on the wheels, and gave me a really good deal on the price (better than buying them from an online dealer which would then require separate installation cost). The new fenders also came out really nice. It took a little longer than I hoped, but the staff was very friendly and always returned my calls timely. Terrible, terrible, terrible. Called these guys for warranty on some Signet Express tires I bought from them. The tires had less then 300 miles before I noticed cracks and splitting on them. Got jerked around when I called and told them. They promised to call me back FOUR TIMES. But they never did, I was making the attempt to call. Anyways long story short i was told the warranty had expired lol this company has TERRIBLE customer service and their prices are a rip off. I would highly reccomend avoiding this company. They are as crooked as a dog's back leg. I bought 4 new tires for my trailer, and 1000 miles and a little over a year later, 2 of the tires came apart damaging the trailer, and the other 2 were on their way to coming apart (seperating). I called them to see about the warranty. They had me send pics and took my info. After three weeks of not hearing anything, I called them and talked to a rude, not too concerned guy named Fritz who told me that I was S.O.L. and these tires don't have a warranty. All that talk about "a good company starts with a good relationship with the customer" is a load of crap. go with a different company these guys are crooks. On January 9, 2012 I ordered via the Internet a Trailer Hitch worth around $220 or so. One day later I receive an email stating that on 17 January I would receive this product by way of FedEx. Called to confirm again on this shipment on January 16, and Shadow Trailer (Carol) tells me I should have it on 17 Jan. It is probably a screw up on behalf of Fedex she stated because there is no tracking information. So now today being 17 January, I called FedEx, and to only hear that Shadow Trailer merely provided a shipping label to FedEx, and no product. On the phone now with Shadow Trailer, and (Carol) told me she would call back in 30 minutes to let me know the status. Bottom line? Don't buy from these guys. The way it seems about now is that they collected my money and there is no product! Calling Bank to void out this mess, and of course they take up to 30-90 days to refund these transactions! this place is great if you dont mind spending 25% more than fritz will tell you over the phone. i called and got a price for a hitch on my landcruiser, i was told $390, you know ill treat you fair were his words. this sounded great because all of my other bids were 450 and up.1 week later i call back to move forward and he tells me once it comes in then well install it. i dropped my car off 2 days later as promised. when i call to ask how its going, i get the progress and ask about the bill and was shocked to have my estimate upped $100 without a call to authorize the additional 25% of the original estimate. just goes along and spends my money and then offers to show me his invoice, and a few other excuses before dropping his price to 474 still $84 dollarts over what was discussed initially, ... i would not recommend this place to anyone regardless of how close they may be to your house.... dont always go wtih the lowest bid, i should have gone with american rv also on lincoln because they were honest with me from the begining and explained why it would cost more, but i went with the lower bid and paid for it . this place gets a 0 star rating from me read more
