Be extremely careful about what you are getting in quantity. I learned the hard way. My receipts…read moreshowed the supposed square footage, not the boxes. My contractor picked up 83 boxes which contained 7 tiles, equaling 14 square feet. The total pickup was 996 square feet, not the 1200 listed. This was also evidenced when I ran out of tile. This also happened on a small order where I did the math for what I needed , added 10% for waste and was still 2 boxes short. The receipt does NOT show boxes, so you do not have recourse once you leave the store. Phil is argumentative, and although Marco seems decent, this has not been resolved so this is my PSA. This has cost me over $1500 in materials and trips back to the store for more tile. It was Florida tile so part of the issue is probably with the supplier too. Count the boxes AND the tiles. Sorry guys but that is the truth. Otherwise, good selection and customer service.

August 2020: We bought a patio cover from ShadeWorks of Boise, Idaho and are very pleased. Our cover was a significant investment and we wanted a beautiful, quality, long lasting product. We got it! The sales, quote and design process was smooth. ShadeWorks uses a tablet to design your patio cover in real time at your home while you watch, so you can contribute to the process. They have a booklet of pictures so you can see everything. The final product and cost were exactly as quoted, no hidden costs or anything like that. I do recommend choosing your color from the samples and not from the booklet and booklet colors are slightly off. Trevor and Rob did the installation. They arrived on time, know what they are doing and did an excellent installation job. They cleaned up the work area nicely after completion. They are a good team and are friendly, professional and courteous. The patio cover is attached to your homes facia board and this requires soffit to be removed so support brackets can be installed. Honestly, I was nervous having someone remove soffit but Trevor and Rob did an excellent job. We decided to use footings for a strong foundation which requires a building permit and inspections. Trevor and Rob handled everything including obtaining the permit and handling the building inspector. Their work passed with no problems. Rob's concrete work looks great and matches the patio nicely. I had a ceiling fan support installed. They answered all my questions so I could install the fan myself later (ShadeWorks does not do electrical work nor can they make electrical recommendations, but they can explain how the support is to be used which is all I needed). In our initial steps to secure a Patio build, we contacted three separate businesses in the area.. The first showed up with nothing more than a notepad and pencil to record the details of the structure that we were looking to have built. Though polite and reasonably engaging, the one representative seemed in a hurry and took little to no notes and then was late in responding to me on details.. We moved on to a second business that never got back to us. Alas, SHADEWORKS responded to our inquiry immediately providing an online brochure representing all of their product lines with a host of photos. They were prompt in arriving for our first appointment and immediately had some idea as to what we were looking for and were able to answer questions with responses that we could easily comprehend. This is when we met Nick, who became the spearhead of communication with us throughout the process. I can't say enough about his professionalism and can-do attitude. He was quick to respond to any communication by us whether email or by phone and gave us a sense that we came first. We were kept abreast weekly of their schedule structure so that we never felt like we were out of touch. We are beyond thrilled with our experience with Shadeworks and the patio cover they provided. Initially, we were looking to hire a contractor to build a custom patio cover for us, but after discussing our project with our contractor, he recommended Shadeworks. He shared that his own parents had used them and were very satisfied with the results, and that many other neighbors in our subdivision had also turned to them. Based on his suggestion, we decided to reach out, and we couldn't be happier that we did. Shadeworks offered us a very competitive quote, and we ended up saving several thousand dollars compared to the cost of having a custom wood cover built by a contractor. Had money down with another company in the Treasure Valley. The owner of that company could NOT give us a date as to when our patio cover would be installed nor could they provide information as to the measurements and placement of the footers. When pressured about this info (we wanted to build a deck first so we needed these key pieces of info to proceed) the owner of that particular company told us "perhaps they were not the right company to do our cover". In other words, take our sub-par customer service or go else where. That is called a "take away sell" and is a harsh tactic. Steer clear of any company who would use it. Called ShadeWorks and had Kenny come to our house and give us an estimate. The estimate was slightly more expensive but he was able to tell us exactly when we could expect our cover to be installed and gave us exact measurements. The two men that installed our cover were professional and personable. They cleaned everything up to include wipe down the entire cover which was no small job! Within a half hour of their departure, the sales representative Kenny followed up to find out if we were satisfied and I confirmed I was! We were trying to figure out what to do for shade after removing several overgrown trees in our backyard. The trees provided almost full shade all day to our swim spa and patio, and after removed, our spa was in full sun all day which rendered it useless for my disabled son. Nick from ShadeWorks came out to our house for the estimate. With some brainstorming, we decided a covered patio for the spa would be the perfect solution. In addition, we decided a pergola over the patio would nicely compliment the spa cover. The swim spa also has a handicap lift and they were able to make some custom accommodations. The plans were detailed to ensure accuracy. In addition, the team went above and beyond to get the project completed before my son's graduation party. Shadeworks installed our patio cover recently and we're looking forward to all of the time we're going to spend out on our patio as soon as it warms up! We love its utility and it also looks great. The warmth of the brown really richens the look and it's going to be gorgeous this summer when the garden is in full color! It does let in more water than we anticipated (wondering if this is because we decided to go roof mounted, but this was the only option we wanted to consider because we wanted the extra height). Also, scheduling was a bit frustrating because of the weather conditions and delays due to water runoff from snow melting. I just had my patio pergola installed today. It turned out more beautiful than I expected, if that is possible. I had a 3-man crew. All members were very professional, kept me informed thru the whole process, and even helped me find a company to relocate a down spout that needed to be moved. The crew did a fantastic job and were very conscientious about my pets, closing open gates and doors, and completely policed and thoroughly cleaned the area and side of house when project was complete. My new pergola effectively doubled my patio space. Looks like Christmas for my group of 6 will be properly spaced, masked, and more than happy to enjoy such a beautiful space. I'm so happy with my pergola! I have a small back patio facing south. During the summer, it really heats up. The pergola reduces the intensity of the sun hitting the patio, and also the sliding glass door into my house. ShadeWorks completed the work on the pergola in a timely manner. She was SO great that we ended up getting ALL of our tile, wood flooring and installation products through her. Smart, responsive, patient, knowledgeable, timely, helpful - the list goes on and on! Due to inept communication, the slab of granite we had picked out somehow ended up in someone else's kitchen. We had already waited several weeks longer than we were supposed to originally, and now....... We'll add an additional 10 weeks. We had an appointment for their install crew to come and install the counters. That was between 9-10 in the morning. After waiting the entire day with not do much as a phone call, we decided to give up and go eat. As we were leaving, they're install pulled up in front of our home. The two guys got out of the truck and said we're here to install your counters. This was about 6:30 in the p.m. When I asked you to where the hell they had been and why we receive no notification they said that they were in McCall finishing up a job and that they were busy. They figured that we would be around when they showed up and that we wanted to counters installed bad enough that we would like to go ahead and do it. I told them to pack her crap up and get out of there and reschedule, we were done for the day. Finally the day of installation came. After several hours of working on putting the counters in the kitchen, they had left telling us the job was finished. Standing in the kitchen looking down on the countertops I about fell over. Being a contractor I have an eyeball for lines and such, however, one does not need to be a Carpenter to see how bad of a screwup this was. What was supposed to be a 90° angle cut ended up being a 97° angle cut. When we spoke to Big Wood Cabinets they sent the rep out to take a look. Of course she tried to come up with all kinds of roundabout excuses and reasons why it was the way it was the bottom line it was screwed up. He was Going to check in to finding out about having it replaced. After several days of negotiating back-and-forth he asked if we would be willing to except the countertop as it was and reduce the price for doing so. We agreed telling him that we would like at least a 20% reduction on the price of a granite slab that was miss cut and looks well looks terrible. That was agreed. Looking further into it not only was the countertop miss kit for the cabinets were installed just a little bit out of square as you can see in the pictures. These guys are supposed to be professionals?During the installation process of the cabinets, we had noticed flaws in the faces of the drawers and cabinet doors. Some were warped, some had chips taken out of them. Every time we inquired about such we were told to go ahead and wait until the end and we would do a final walk-through and then submit a claim under the warranty for the damage pieces and they would replace those parts. Well 7-8 months past the finish time of the cabinet installation and countertops we still have received no discount on the countertop after paying full price and we have received no parts or pieces to replace those damaged ones or defective ones. When calling Big Wood Cabinets we are told basically to shove it and they weren't going to do anything about it. You can see in the pictures how bad some of the damage was. Would you accept this in your home for all the money they charge? Wells Farfound one of our brand-new kitchen towels watered up underneath one of the cabinets looking like this. Bottom line these guys don't stand behind their word for a damn thing. They are liars and they're cheats. Not the kind of business dealing I would expect from a fellow native Idahoan.
