I would not recommend CoverTech company. They built a small pergola for us working through a landscape company in Boise. There were several issues, but the biggest one is they cut one of the beams 1/2" short which is very noticeable. When we asked them to replace the beam they first said it was within "threshold" even though the rest of the beams are flush and do not have a space. After continuing to ask them to fix the beam they said they would not be responsible for the structure AND WE HAD TO PAY FOR THE BEAM AND THEIR LABOR. This clearly shows their lack of craftsmanship. No craftsman would say 1/2" off on a board was within threshold. For another issue we had their technician changeout silver bolts on a black structure (which should never have been silver since the remainder of the bolts were black) and didn't even have a drill. We would definitely not ever recommend this company to anyone. read more

They were friendly and thorough. Fairly priced, accomplished their work timely, even when the county inspectors failed to show up. The work easily passed inspection. We have a south facing backyard and a close neighbor. We wanted protection from the sun and privacy from the neighbors. We had CoverTech -Rich- come and he gave us a great price on remote control solar shades while he was at the house. The shades arrived the next week and were installed in a couple of hours. We LOVE them and are very pleased with CoverTech. We'd got a bid from another company that didn't come close and it took them a couple of days to get the quote to us. After a lot of research, we chose CoverTech to put up a solid, insulated roof on our pergola, and to add an additional section of covered patio to our south-facing home. Rich came out and did an excellent job of problem solving with us, as we considered how best to combine these two areas. He gave us an estimate, we signed the contract, and as of yesterday, our patio area is complete and we are thrilled with the results! The installer we had, Alex, is a true artist and a perfectionist!! That is definitely a winning combination!! He worked so hard and efficiently, we started feeling guilty! But what we appreciated most was that he treated our home like it was his own. Example? We had paid big bucks to have a paver path to our patio area installed just last November. One of the new posts was supposed to be installed on top of the pavers. Instead of cutting through the pavers in a big circle and dig a hole in which to place the post, Alex instead carefully removed each paver and set them aside (which took almost an hour!) and then after the post was installed, he carefully cut those pavers to fit and replaced them back around the post, (which took another hour) thereby saving the aesthetic of the entire path! We are now Alex's biggest fans! We truly appreciate his craftsmanship and his willingness to go that extra mile to make our patio installation a TRUE "home improvement"!! read more

Rich came right on time and evaluated the job and very honestly commented that I would probably not get as much shade as I wanted on this particular application. Wow! I really appreciated his integrity and desire to have a satisfied customer , even if meant no project for him. If we decide on shading a bigger area, I would not consider anyone but Rich . i would not recommend you use this company. They are extremely rude if you question anything. They scheduled me for an installation twice and my HOA hasn't even approved. Now they are refusing to return my deposit and when I asked why they would schedule an installation prior to approval here is the response I got from their employee Rich Prasch. Terrible service and business management. My husband was home during install thank goodness. We ordered a patio cover with electrical panels so we could add a fan and lights later with our own electrician. They tried to install without the electrical panels. Then when confronted about it the owner accused me of trying to screw him over. All I wanted was what I ordered. After more than one phone call and argument with the owner the panels were ordered. My patio cover is complete. Half the panels look like they have wood grain and half don't but hey they are all white. 10 out of 10 never recommend. We hired CoverTech to add a patio cover to our home in the summer of 2018. It was expensive but the people were nice and seemed like a good product. We were happy with the finished product. Shortly after is when the problem started. The first good rain exposed numerous leaks in the cover. We called and a guy came out and blamed our kids for walking on it. We have security cameras so we know that's not the case. Only person that walked on it is the electrician they recommended to install lights. Service man caulked the seams and left. The next rain, more leaks. Again they were going to send out a service man but he never showed up. I called a couple weeks later and they said he was there. Nothing on the security camera. He came out and caulked again. Well, it's still leaking to this day. I called the day after Thanksgiving (2020) because it was leaking in 8 places. I was told they were busy and would have to fit us in between installs. Three months later and still waiting after a couple more calls. So as I see it, they have our money so not in a hurry to stand behind their product. Much more important to service the people who still need to pay the big money.
