I really needed the content on that tape, and Mr. Cassette was able to open the cassette, cut the tape at the damaged area and splice it back together. Then, he transferred the contents onto a DVD all with in a few days right before Christmas. Great service that completed the job and worth the price ($25). You can bring in your own recording medium, like a thumb drive, to transfer your old tapes onto something you can put on a computer. I have a ton of old memories on MiniDV's, VHS, Betamax, and Super8 that I will take to Mr. Cassette to transfer for me.

I considered doing the job myself, but didn't really want to fuss with the equipment, technical details, etc., so I gave Patsy a call. Patsy came to my house, picked up my VHS tapes tapes, and made perfect copies in just a few days. She added some really nice extra touches, like DVD menus and inserts with images related to the content on the DVD. When I mentioned how nice it was that she did all that, she said, "I just did it how I'd want it done." Patsy is an extremely nice lady who genuinely seems to care about preserving old memories.
