Just fabulous. Food was great and the ambiance, my God. Perfect. It's my first time here today and I am sold. It's a Tuesday and I ordered the roast chicken with green beans and Mac & cheese and let me tell you, it's hard to beat! It was a simple meal on the specials board, and I have no regrets. My lunch came with a brownie for dessert, actually two brownies that are moist and on point. So many menu options, so I can't wait to come back over and over and try everything! Can't wait to bring my whole family here.

This place is perfect. First of all it passed the trifecta (ambience, service and food) with flying colors. We are so excited to have found this place and it's with full confidence that I'm saying we will be regulars. I had built this place up quite a bit. First, I'd heard the food and the owner/chef was exceptional. Then I looked at the photos of the outdoor dining area. Yeah, ummm...sold. So we arrive a little before opening time (10am) and wait in the parking lot like all normal people do when they are excited, right? Or is that just me? Whatever, don't judge. We walk in and start exploring the area. It's just so charming. Huge oak trees, bird baths, and even a koi pond. Bamboo lined the fence and you feel like you're in your friends back yard. That feeling doesn't go away once you're greeted by the sweet waitress who gives us the deets on when and where to place our orders, delighted us by feeding the koi and pointed us in the direction of the restrooms. Nor did it stop while ordering. We were able to chat with Chef Lonnie who described a little of his passion and talked with us about local cuisine. Everyone here was so nice! I went with the Delcambre BLT which was grilled shrimp, sautéed onions, bacon, tomatoes, lettuce, tabasco mayo and creole mustard on a croissant. Can I just say that #1 YOU HAD ME A TABASCO MAYO (seriously-tabasco mayo is the greatest thing ever invented and now you're adding creole mustard to it?? Uh, want to get married?) And #2 this sandwich was the bee's knees. It was perfectly executed...from the perfectly grilled onions to the jumbo (and butterflied...hello!) shrimp. I simply loved it. It came with hand cut fries that were very good but the sandwich stole the show. We also received a free dessert since it was our first visit (and they loved us:) and it was bread pudding and a damn good bread pudding it was. We will be back and you should go too! In fact, what are you doing tonight?

Great little place with a great menu. Plenty of outdoor seating under the trees. Definitely recommend. The Ribeye wrap was amazing.

What a place! It's a super safe bet! All the menu is amazing! Service could be faster but I believe the secret is to pre order

Super cute and nice place. The burger was cooked to perfection and the pretzel bites with beer cheese was phenomenal!

Do I recommend this place you ask?…read more Well, seeing as how we hit it at least once or twice a month you could say it's our approved list of eateries in the Lafayette area. I've been here for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late night munchies. It's always been top notch. The kitchen is always busy, but the service is timely. This is my go to place for the perfect Reuben sandwich! It's also my go to place when I'm craving a hamburger steak, or meatloaf, or just about anything else on their menu! But that Popeye's omelette is tops on my breakfast list! The diner setting is a throwback to the 50s and 60s, so if you're into chrome and formica this is your place! It's actually kind of cozy, and the servers have always been friendly, even when they're in a frenzy!

My husband and I ordered the cheeseburger omelet and Big Mike special, two dishes that both included well-seasoned and high quality angus beef. My cheeseburger omelet in particular was absolutely delicious--a medley of beef, onions, mushrooms, peppers and cheddar cheese. The biscuits, on the other hand, were grainy and glazed with sweet butter, and ultimately a menu item that we really didn't care for. They also lacked structural integrity, and appeared to be lacking a crispy and buttery exterior. Biscuits aside, we loved all the other side options and we want to go back to try the fried green tomatoes and fried jalapeños.

We had high hopes for this old school diner. When we arrived, the place was packed with after…read morechurch locals which usually feels like a good sign, but our experience quickly went downhill from here. There's no host stand or clear seating system, so the entrance felt chaotic. We weren't sure what to do until a nice local told us to just grab a table. After sitting down, it took about 5 mins for a waitress to stop by with the menus. The menu includes both breakfast and lunch items, but the ordering process is confusing. We were told breakfast orders would be taken at the table and lunch needs to be ordered separately at the cafeteria style counter. My husband went to the counter to order lunch while I stayed behind, waiting for the server to return with drinks and take our breakfast order, she never did. The smothered pork dish looked worse than school cafeteria, and unfortunately tasted like it too. It was overly salty and the pork had a weird taste to it. Since we had already paid for the lunch item upfront and still hadn't been able to place breakfast order, we decided to cut our losses and went to another restaurant. Overall, wasted 35 mins and left frustrated and disappointed, definitely won't come back!

T-Coon's is a very old school diner featuring both breakfast and lunch items. We came on Sunday,…read morewhich was probably a mistake due to the brunch and church lunch crowd timing. The main issue here is the overall service experience and the food quality. The interior is old school but immediately chaos; there is a Luby's style ready serve food line and tables as well for dine in. We didn't know but apparently you just find a table and sit down, we were standing around waiting to be seated for a bit. Apparently you order lunch plates at this hot food line and then order breakfast via your server at the table. This makes no sense. We waited 35 minutes for staff to take our breakfast order and beverages unsuccessfully, so I went up and ordered a lunch plate of smothered pork and just paid up front. The guy working the ready made food line was also pretty rude and didn't want to be there; great! It was definitely below Treebeard's level and was very salty and not very flavorful. The sauce that they poured on the rice was extremely salty as well. Meh food quality and the absolute chaos of the brunch dining experience made the brunch meal very unenjoyable for our group. We left afterwards and went to another restaurant to eat.

The Park has a big breakfast following. They do pancakes and omelettes in addition to their standard breakfast fare. If you get a chance you should certainly try their Sweet Potato Pancakes! A Southern speciality! I am usually in the Park for lunch, and they are excellent for a midday meal. It should be mentioned that if you want to eat breakfast for lunch, they will accommodate you till 2PM! If you want a more traditional lunch, they have a daily Plate Lunch that pairs a hearty entree with rice and two sides. They also have a great selection of sandwiches ranging from a simple BLT to loaded Po-Boys. There's also a Crab Patty Burger for something delicious and different! But that's not all! There's soups, salads, and seafood! There's also a Short Order section of the menu. For the health conscious, there's a selection of grilled seafood served with grilled broccoli! There's also dessert! Usually there's slices of three to four pies, and often bread pudding. This will be a great finish for a homestyle meal. It's a small historic building, that's not too fancy. In fact it is so historic that the restrooms are outside out back. However, this shouldn't deter the visitor looking for a good meal, as we all know that local hole-in-the-walls are worth visiting...
