The hamburger Poboy was pretty good! I like the onion rings also ... the onion rings, dipped in honey. Mustard dressing is to die for it. Love them homemade! This place is definitely a new Iberia staple !! read more

I am in absolute disbelief.... I have been ordering fantastic food, especially hamburgers, from Duffy's all of my adult life (starting in my teen years). Their hamburgers were 2nd to none in my opinion. The flavor of their burgers was unmistakable. Perfectly seasoned. My family & I loved their food & looked forward to it when one us would say "Duffy's tonight".... That's what I said today at work & now I've home for about 30 minutes & I can't believe my eyes or my taste buds. This burger is bland. Almost no flavor. DEFINITELY NOT a Duffy's burger. The platy is clearly, unmistakably a pre-made, likely fake hamburger patty. I absolutely can not believe this. I am beyond unsatisfied & I have NEVER had a complaint about Duffy's in the past. I also ordered seasoned cajun fries & these fries have no seasoning. Barely any salt. I honestly can't believe I wasted my money on Duffy's today. I would have NEVER ever imagined that I would be writing this kind of review about DUFFY'S. I don't believe that I will be ordering again. This is a sad thing to say after years upon years of throughly enjoying the food at Duffy's Diner. I guess all good things come to an end. read more

The service was friendly and fast. The place was very clean. My son ordered the club sandwich and fries with a chili dog and said that all of it was tasty and plentiful. The chocolate malt was delicious! I ordered a burger with onion rings and it was good. The onion rings were fried to perfection and I had way more than I could eat! The fried mushrooms were also delicious and crispy. Yes, I recommend this staple if ever in New Iberia! read more

One of my favorite places to eat in New Iberia! Any time I am in town I have to go here. Over the years I've had many things on the menu! Some of my faves are the Fried Catfish Basket, Shrimp Poboy, Hot Dog, Gumbo, Grilled Catfish, Cajun Fries, Chicken Fries, and Sweet Potato Fries all of which are excellent! Make sure you try their honey mustard if you like dipping sauces! The service is great! Everyone is very friendly and accommodating whether you order to go or dine in! There is a drive through for pick up which is great! You can order soft serve ice cream and/or drinks from the window without calling ahead. There is inside and outdoor seating. Inside it is a 50s style diner with a jukebox included! A staple of the community. I always see someone I know when I'm there. If you haven't been, check it out! read more

Duffy's Diner - Fried Catfish Basket with Cajun Fries - Delis Near Me - New Iberia, Louisiana

I've been living in New Iberia for close to 4 years now and this is my first time visiting Duffy's. Definitely will Not be the last time. Fried Mushrooms were some of the best I've had in a very long time. Hot, not overly salty, and the oil tasted fresh. My wife really enjoyed her (half)shrimp poboy. I really liked the poboy bread and will likely get one next time we come. My hamburger steak was good. Seasoned well and hot. They let me upgrade from fries to a loaded baked potato ($1.75 upgrade) and it came out very hot. However, I didn't realize they used nacho cheese and when my server (Gabrielle) realized I didn't like it, she immediately replaced it with another using shredded cheese. Overall the service and food was great. We can't wait to come back. read more

This cool little diner was packed when we arrived at lunch time on a Monday. The daily special was a hot dog and fries for $6.50! I ate the two piece dark fried chicken, rice dressing and fried corn on the cob (weird)! My hubs at a 1/2 bbq po boy and fries. All the food was tasty and reasonably priced. The fried corn was odd and tasteless...I would not recommend it. We finished with milkshakes to go and our whole bill was less than $30. read more

This was terrible food. I wish I'd tried shrimp but don't know if it could be that different Greasy and everything has an off taste. Never again read more

Well...not as great as it use to be. Always ordered the Hot Dog and not anymore...the Bun changed and not as good as it use to be. Ordered the gumbo today and not that great lacks seasoning and the Potato Salad does not taste like Potato Salad should be .... with Pickles....It was more like an unflavored Mashed Potato. Will not get this again. What happened to you Duffy's Diner. Still like the Fried Chicken. I am done... read more

Great spicy chicken sandwich. Service was a bit slow, Coffee is not recommended here.

Let's start this out by saying, I'm slightly biased. I grew up here and I've eaten at Duffy's so many times I can quote their menu. So why right a review now? Because I finally brought someone here that had never had the food and they agreed that's it's absolutely fantastic. So FINALLY here's my review of the place I'll eat at every time I'm home. This place is landmark to me and I hope it never changes (including that pedal car on the ceiling). I visit here so often because I've never been disappointed by the food or the service or the decor. I can tell my own age by coming here; the decor isn't just old, they're antiques; the people working the counter are no longer my classmates, but their kids. Yet it's still pretty cheap for the great food and experience. $20 for two people this weekend. Thankfully my friend picked up the bill (his gratitude for me sharing this iconic spot with him). Another thing that never changes is that it's always clean, and everyone is always smiling. My favorite thing to order: shrimp basket with fries My second favorite: shrimp basket with onion rings My third favorite: catfish basket with fries I do eat things on the menu other than the shrimp basket BUT I don't live here anymore, so I find myself just going back to it each time I come home. The breading and seasoning are perfect, and you can't beat the price. Insider secret is that the baskets come with a pistolette and I'd rather that fried piece of bread than a poboy. In fact, sometimes I order an extra piece. They always have great specials, too. This weekend, they had the crab cake sandwich. My friend ordered that and thankfully shared so that I can tell you in this review how delicious it was. I would order that again - but I'd have to get a pistolette on the side of course. When I was younger the shakes or ice cream to finish the meal was absolute heaven, though we were too stuffed to indulge this weekend. Last words: eat at Duffy's. Be nice to the staff. Enjoy your trip down memory lane. read more

Duffy is a great location for great food and great service. We had the ribs, baked beans, and dirty rice along with a delicious strawberry shake made with real strawberries. We appreciate their being open on Saturday for lunch when many other nearby restaurants were not. The restaurant had an old fashioned, fun diner atmosphere. read more

I was a little nervous ordering seafood gumbo at a diner but I lucked out. It was good. Had to hit it with a little salt and Tabasco but otherwise perfect. The potato salad was good too. Would get it again. It has shrimp & crawfish and a lot of them. No crabmeat but at $8.75 for a bowl that's fine. read more

Lost my order and waited 45 minutes and they apologized and I said no problem just take off what we are waiting for. And the order was apparently needed to be made again. Grrrrrr ate there the day before and I said let do a take out the next day. Refunded my money and zoom I was gone. read more

We went to Duffy's today and they were not busy, all of the wait staff and manager were all hanging around the counter. We were told to sit anywhere we wanted. After sitting down we waited 3 minutes for a server to come to our table before we decided to leave. If they were busy I would have no problem waiting a while but there is no excuse for not having a server at the table almost immediately when they are all standing around talking. This isn't the first time this happened to us. read more

Not the same Duffy's it used to be. Our first order was made by phone 30 minutes ahead. I went inside, cashier pulled up the order, paid for food. 30 more minutes later I asked about the order. Kitchen never got the order. Had to scramble and hurry up the order. That was an hour wasted. Ordered 6 hotdogs fully loaded today. Got home, wrappers marked fully loaded, but OOOPS they forgot ALL the toppings and were short a hot dog. Buns were stale and somebody spilled too much cayenne in the chili. Can't wait for Viator's to re-open. Sad Duffy's isn't what it used to be. read more

I was in town for a business trip and we actually went here twice! Classic diner vibes with classic Louisiana dishes. My favorite thing on the menu is the onion rings! Made from scratch which is rare to find. Normally when you eat onion rings, the fried part breaks off and you have to awkwardly eat the onion with some crumbs of the breaking. Not the case, with these rings! The po boys were also better than most I've had - perfect amount of meat and fresh bread. The second time we came the power was out and they could only offer fried food - fine with us! The fried chicken was probably the best I ever had! The staff kept it ~cool~ the entire time and continued providing excellent service. read more

Duffy's Diner - Best onion rings and po boys ever! - Delis Near Me - New Iberia, Louisiana

The food is very good. I used to enjoy this place a lot as a kid. The staff used to dress in poodle dresses and there have always served kids meal in "car" boxes. Their shakes and ice cream are also quite yummy. The staff wasn't very friendly last time I went. Each time I go they seem to be less and less outgoing (as is hinted by the lack of poodle dresses now). They were also complaining about their jobs to each other in front of the customers. Very unprofessional. But all in all, if you are looking for good local food and have never been here before--try it. You'll be satisfied. read more
