Amazing food and service. The grilled fish is delicious. The fish wraps (grilled or fried) with the sweet potato fries is a winner. I have to add the fried okra is good! Very nice restaurant to sit and enjoy a meal. read more

Last couple of times their burgers and fries wasn't like they were 2 years ago. Maybe a different cook or possibly just over cooked burger. I typically ordered to go so no experience with seating, read more

Everything is a 10! The staff is friendly, the food never disappoints, and I couldn't recommend a better spot for food! The ambience could definitely use some work, but it's fine how it is for sure! It's never messy, always clean. But it seems like there keeping the same trend on going since 2000s. read more

This place is awesome !!! I was born and raised in the area but now live out of state. When I come visit I always have to make a stop for the best bacon burger ever. It's under new ownership but food is still excellent. The restaurant was very clean and servers were very friendly and accommodating because my wife is gluten free. If I could make one suggestion it would be to have gluten free buns for the burgers, but if you want a great HOMEMADE hamburger go to Chicks! read more

Someone very near and dear to me told me about Chick's Burgers and I have to admit it, he was correct about how great this place is. Never judge a book by it's cover! It's off the beaten path in what looks like a run down abandoned building...when you walk in it's nothing fancy either. It's outdated but TRUST, the food and service here will keep you coming back for more, more I say! I had a shrimp poboy on a bun and onion rings. If you know me you know that shrimp is my jam and I have a thing about butterflying them because who wants to eat that vein/poop thing? Not I. The shrimp were perfectly seasoned and butterflied. It was fully dressed and she even brought out ketchup when she delivered it. OK? Hello heaven. The onion rings were very good. Not the best I've had but a top contender for sure. We enjoyed our meal so much we even stayed for dessert which is not the norm for me. If you ever find yourself in Baldwin do yourself a favor and stop in to Chick's! I'll be back! read more

I just stopped here for lunch. I mentioned to the two girls up front that this was my first time trying Chick's Burger. They were very nice and just smiled and said the burgers and chili were home made every day. Well, I ordered a cheeseburger and a half shrimp Po-Boy. The burger had been warmed over. I could tell because the cheese wasn't even melted on top and the burger wasn't fresh. It was tough and kind of luke warm. How do you serve a warmed up burger to anyone let alone someone new trying the place out for the first time? Here's a tip- every menu item cooked to order. Next up was the shrimp Po-Boy. There was a lot of bread and the shrimp lacked any flavor. I gave it a shot based on the reviews and I like to try the local restaurants when I'm traveling. The restaurant was empty at 1pm which is not a good sign either. I believe I will choose to move on to other restaurants based on my experience. Put more effort into serving fresh and flavorful food and it might work out for you. read more

The club sandwich and the Shrimp Poboy are excellent choices. Very reasonable prices

Had the catfish poboy and it was delicious! Highly recommended. First time today, but it won't be my last! read more

I ordered a 20 piece nugget with fries. I did not get enough fries on my plate. Just like a hand full. I will not order this again.

This is probably my favorite place to eat in the Franklin/Charenton area. They never disappoint, and you will leave satisfied every single time!! read more

Small town good food! They made cheese sandwiches for the kids (hamburger bun with cheese, heated) even though not on the menu. Husband had the bacon burger (loaded) and I had the catfish on a bun. We shared large fries. All tasty! Finished up with soft serve vanilla ice cream (available in cone or cup, with or without chocolate sauce). Decor feels like it is 60s-70s, but plenty clean. Prices from the 80s. Nice casual place for dinner after a day at the beach! If we are back in this area again, we'll be back! read more

GR8 place, Huge diverse menu! And they do it all well! Very generous portions, reasonably priced & fast service. The staff is one of the best in the area. The shrimp poboy is one of the best I've had and the oyster was really good as well. Everything tasted fresh! read more

Great food at a great price. Long time owners make for good, consistent flavor. Shrimp po boys and cheese burgers....plate lunches....Any choice is the right choice! An update.....hamburger patties are quite small these days. Still flavorful, but very skimpy...I'll pay more gladly if it's a bit more substantial! read more

have been eating with this family since the 60's when it was a drive in. now a nice clean quiet restaurant. food is still excellent. service is wonderful and have genuine quest to be sure you are satisfied. everything is good. plate lunches super, dip cones, po boys. don't miss this gem. read more

Clean, friendly and basically a hidden gem. We tried three items on the menu; shrimp PO boy, onion rings and chili dog. The chili was not to our liking, but that may be a regional taste. The shrimp PO boy was generous and delicious! Good bread and lots of tasty shrimp. The onion rings were the star of the meal! They were fabulous! Some of the best we have ever eaten, no kidding! The breeding was tasty and you could actually enjoy the flavor of the onions. Try them! read more
