This cafe is simple but sooooo nostalgic, from the years of untouched decor to the down home vibes, this what Louisiana culture is all about, I love that there are so many folks that frequent this cafe that still speak the cajun french I grew up with and the food is off the chart and there's no doubt the kitchen loves dishing out traditional cajun cuisine, after all these years this place still has the magic. As soon as our server sat the bowl of grits on the table I knew we were in for something special, there's an art to preparing and serving them that so many places just can replicate - the omelette was amazing I was so torn on what to order because I wanted some of everything. Our server Laice was amazing although this was the first time we met she treated us like neighbors now that's definitely Louisiana hospitality. You'd be hard pressed to beat the atmosphere, the food or the exceptional customer service it just goes to show there still some authenticity if you know where to go - this will definitely be my go to breakfast place when in the area...

Heather has set up this shop so perfectly with such wonderful attention to detail... from the music softly piping through the speakers to the beautiful furnishings. Even the art on the walls is carefully thought out. If that wasn't enough, there is a Little Free Library here! And it is the most beautiful one I've ever seen and there is nothing little about it...there are so many books! If you are a book lover like me you will feel like you've died and gone to heaven. And just when you thought this place couldn't be any cuter you find out they do themes every week and reflect the theme into the delicious goodies. Themes like Bridgerton, Barbie, Harry Styles, Star Wars and Taylor Swift. SO much fun, so stinking adorable and the desserts aren't just gorgeous to look at, they are delicious, too. It was my first time in Lafayette, and I can say without a doubt it will not be my last! I happened upon this bistro right here on Yelp and it was a hit with both of us. So much so that we went back the next morning and were greeted just as warmly as the day before! We were greeted and seated immediately. You peruse their well-rounded menu at your leisure and then order at the counter. I know they use savory and sweet in the description, but to me your choices are even broader. Like a little kick with your savory? Order the Cajun immediately. Fantastic boudin! Want a milder start, order the Crepe Madame with your choice of ham or turkey. Savory with a bit of sweet, order the Monte Cristo. The triple berry jam is outstanding! On the sweet side we tried the S'mores with Biscoff and the Creme Brûlée. They satisfied my best friend's favorite food group...sugar. We met and talked with the owner, Cody, while we were there. Super, super nice guy! We had a thousand questions and he answered them all while we ate our tasty crepe creations. We sat and watched his wife prepare the dishes while trying to convince them to open restaurants in our hometowns! We had the best casual and friendly dining experience the either of us has had in a long time and can't wait to go back! Thank you, Cody and family!!

Your order is brought to you at your table, and they will clear the table when you are done, but you also pay at the counter. Service was attentive, and the restaurant was clean and cozy. My husband and I ordered savory crepes - the Monte Cristo and the Crepe Madame (with scrambled eggs on the side instead of sunny side up on top). They were both absolutely delicious and filling! Our kids ordered the Creme Brûlée, the Crepe cup, and a crepe "your way" with chocolate and strawberries with a fruit cup. Everyone enjoyed their breakfast. For drinks, my husband and I enjoyed coffee - we both ordered a Bayou Belle, and our kids ordered chocolate milk, soda, and water. The chocolate milk was served with an edible chocolate straw, which was a fun addition! Overall, this was a great stop for Sunday breakfast for our family of 5. We will definitely be back!

Stuffed bell pepper, crawfish etouffee, fried shrimp, crab au gratin. And I am pretty sure the tartar sauce was made in house. The restaurant is a decent size. Mostly families come here to dine. We've had many birthdays, baptism parties and even a funeral gathering here. That said, this was our go to place for a good 5 years, but with the management change (Jeremy is apparently gone as are nearly all the staff that was there for years) and us never seeing Ema, things went downhill. The last few visits had issues and when the last issue happened I ask to speak to the manager. To my surprise, and despite only a few tables of people the manager was "not able" to talk to us. We waited and after about 10 minutes left to never return. I can't recommend this restaurant any longer but there are many new options and if you watch my Top 100 you'll find at least 4 or 5 other excellent restaurants for breakfast and lunch. Sorry Ema, but you've let this place go.

The staff asked if we wanted five regular and one spicy. We said we only wanted regular. Then they asked if we wanted three spicy and three regular instead. It felt like they were really trying to push the spicy kolaches on us, even though we repeatedly stated we only wanted the regular ones. They also offer croissants, but they should really call them "croissant breakfast sandwiches." They're essentially large croissant sandwiches with a sausage similar to Jimmy Dean's. Unfortunately, they're not very tasty and cost $3.50 each. Overall, stick to the kolaches if you visit. The croissants aren't worth it, and be sure to double-check your order since they seem prone to mixing things up.
