We finally got to try this restaurant. We were in the area and went it. There is a pleasant atmosphere and friendly service. My wife had a Falafal pita. Which she enjoyed. I had lamb Maqluba. It was cocked in a terrine and turned upside down on my plate for me to eat. The dish had a great flavors. We are looking forward to trying here again to see how the restaurant handles a busier time. read more

This is an outstanding restaurant! The Chef is top notch and personable. He makes the most delicious meals with a hint of Egypt where he's from, but the menu has a wide array of dishes. We were the first customers today and first time here. Our waitress was fantastic and very attentive. Thervice was amazing and explained the menu to us. The ambiance was very fancy, very classy. We ordered the hummus with pita, a garlic sauce, and a spicy sauce. I should have asked what the names was to the sauces because they were amazing! Our waitress even packed us more sauce to go lol. My husband ordered the chicken shawarma lunch portion which included pita bread and mushroom soup. I ordered the chicken shawarma platter because I'm a hefty eater lol. We ordered the baklava to. So let me just start by saying, this is the best meal I've had in a very long time, which actually says a whole lot because I am most definitely a foodie! Walking in I found the surroundings to be an extremely calm & relaxing atmosphere. It's most definitely clean , and the weight staff go out of their way to make sure you have exceptional service throughout your whole stay. We were lucky enough to have a young lady named Claritze. She was extremely knowledgeable of the wine menu , offered us samples, and of course we settled on a whole bottle. (They bag, cork up and put a receipt on the package of any portion you don't drink so you can legally take it to go) On dinner - we ordered the calamari for the table- it was so crispy on the outside and yet so tender on the inside. The spicy aïoli sauce was the perfect accompaniment, but if that's not your taste, they have other sauces to dip in. Moving onto the dinner - Again, Claritze was very knowledgeable of the menu. I had the most incredible, flavorful, glistening piece of sea bass with a bur blanc sauce that was perfectly balanced and smooth. The Seabass was served a top a beautiful mushroom risotto, with a side of butter poached asparagus. I don't even know how to tell you how delicious this was !!! My compliments to the chef on this one ! Others at the table had two different lamb dishes that were both absolutely amazing. That lamb shank literally just fell off the bone and was so juicy and succulent. The portion size on everything that came to the table was way more than adequate. Much larger than most restaurants I've dined in. The only problem I might have had with this establishment was the fact that everything on the menu looked so delicious I wasn't sure what to decide on, but I couldn't of been happier with my choice. I will most definitely be going back and highly recommend this upcoming restaurant to anyone in the area or visiting. Again I feel the need to complement our server, who was just so friendly and polite, very attentive to us, and very knowledgeable of the full menu. Amazing restaurant! We had a reservation, and great we did, on Friday night it was just several tables available. Truly enjoyed grilled octopus - tender and delicious! And truffle polenta fries - something unique to try that I will be craving about! My husband had a lamb risotto - meat was perfectly seasoned and so tender, risotto perfectly cooked. My Branzino was simply perfect. Our kid enjoyed his cheese flatbread. They have amazing wine list with very upscale choices. Staff was very friendly and promt. A hidden Gem! Not good, Overpriced and NOT accommodating. We were a party of 6 on a quiet night. The first thing I was struck by was a stale fish smell when we went in. We are partly a gluten free group. We asked if we could have vegetables with the hummus. Our server told us that they had "no fresh vegetables in the kitchen, all of our salads are premixed". Then one person asked if instead of the couscous she could have potatoes the server her told her "unfortunately the chef won't change his dishes as all the flavors are meant to be together and he won't change anything out even for food intolerances". The food came out, it was terrible all of it and The chicken tasted microwaved. Not one person enjoyed the dinner. We'd never ever go back. My husband and I were so sad when Gino's changed ownership that it took us awhile to try Shabo's. I'm extremely disappointed it took us so long. Everything we tried was delicious. We had the chicken kabob, grilled octopus, and the red snapper, all were amazing. The people sitting next to us at the bar ordered the meatballs and branzino and they said the meatballs were the best they've ever had. I also want to note that I have celiac and can't have gluten. Their menu clearly identify dishes that are or can be modified to be gluten free and they also brought me gluten free pita bread. One review I read said they were not gluten freee friendly and I found it to be quite the opposite, they were very accommodating. read more

Had a lot of hope when I read about the Chef and his background. Verry disappointing to say the least. Both our meals were the worst. My wife had the eggplant and parts of it were cold. Must have been preprepared and warmed up in a microwave. I had the chicken franchise. The worst in the world. Heavy pasty cream on top. I have had this in many restaurants and it should be a light wine lemon sauce with some garlic. I thought I was in a low class cafeteria. Please save your money. read more

They have a mix of Mediterranean dishes from several regions including Italy. We preferred to try the Middle Eastern dishes which were excellent! I had lunch with my 24 friends. No one had any complaints. I had a Philly steak and cheese sandwich and one of the best I have ever eaten.

Lovely atmosphere. Food was very good, although for the price it could have been better. We could tell it was cooked prior and warmed up. Although most restaurants do this with slow cooked food (we had lamb dishes) here it was a bit too obvious. Having said that, we will return. read more

Four of us enjoyed fabulous dinners at Shabo Bistro this week, which is relatively new in Pebblebrook Center, at Immokalee and Collier. The restaurant is beautiful, the service was very nice, and our meals were delicious. The salads (Greek salad and wedge) were both large and very fresh. I had the Braised Beef Short Ribs, which were amazing in flavor and texture, and served with green beans and fingerling potatoes. The others in our party had Moroccan Lamb Couscous and Braised Lamb Risotto, both of which were outstanding, and all of them were very generous in size. We ended on a sweet note with tiramisu and creme brûlée. The quality at Shabo Bistro is hard to beat; I highly recommend this lovely restaurant for casual dining and for special occasions. read more

WOW! This place is amazing! The food was very impressive and Naples is beyond blessed to have acquired Chef Shabo! From the moment you enter and are greeted by the smiling, welcoming, and friendly, manager to our down-to-earth, fun, fast and super personable server named James to the drinks from the bar! We were there during the busiest time of the evening and although busy the service was still great and you can truly tell everyone there cares about your experience! We had 3 different appetites and we were all 3 more than satisfied. My husband had Black Grouper which he said was to die for! I had Pasta and the other had braised short ribs! All the food is one of a kind and unlike anything I have ever tasted! I could definitely tell that everything in this place is done from the heart and there is loved poured into every detail and every dish! You MUST try the chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream!
