When I originally called to schedule an appointment, they spent a great deal of extra time on the phone walking me through some steps of doing an initial check of my chimney and what to look out for to minimize risk of fire/CO exposure. They did not have to do this, but went way out of their way to spend this extra time with me and lend a hand. Scheduling was easy and efficient, and they use Square app to confirm, track, and enable notifications for the appointment. During the inspection/cleaning, they were very friendly, transparent, communicative, and efficient. They prepped the work area which was then spotless upon completion as if they were never even there. Extremely professional, knowledgeable, and personable. I had great conversations with the two sons during the appointment, and they took extra time to answer my questions and to walk through safety and operational concerns I had. Overall, this was an excellent experience and I'll be recommending Family Chimney Sweeps to everyone going forward. Great job!

I found Cleanfreak using Yelp and read the positive reviews so I booked them for a cleaning. First of all, they communicated with me via email very quickly, and we got on the schedule right away. The owner emailed me and let me know the guys were on the way, which was very much appreciated so that I could plan my day. The guys arrived and were very professional and they did a great job, told me how much build up they cleaned and pointed out some things I should keep on eye on for the future with our fireplace insert. While they were here I got a quote on duct cleaning for the entire house since this place was a new build. I was so satisfied with their work, professionalism, friendly nature - that I booked the duct cleaning as well. It is so hard to find good service-oriented companies and I know I found our chimney sweep company for our annual cleanings. Thank you Cleanfreak - you are A+++ I will recommend you to my friends and family.

If there was a big, fat ZERO, that would be our rating!!! We did read the negative reviews, but…read moresince we like to support local small businesses, we decided to give them a chance. BIG MISTAKE!!!! Do NOT, I repeat---DO NOT CALL THEM!!!! One of our chimney caps came loose in strong winds. Called and owner came out and gave an estimate of $250.00 to get up there and turn the cap back into place. We said ok. He said they would be back out on Tuesday to fix it. Workers came Tuesday to fix it-we thought. No!!! Instead we were charged $189.00 to have them run a camera up the shoot! Took no more than FIVE minutes. THEN we were given another quote of $1,523.00 to get up there and twist cap back into place!!!!!!!!! $1,523.00!!!!!!! We called the owner back and asked why they didn't fix the cap that day for the $250.00 quote he gave us?!!!! And I asked him why they charged us $189.00 for a 3-minute camera look. He -the OWNER-said he had no idea and that he would look at our file and get back to me!!!!!! Well----an ENTIRE MONTH later and we are still waiting!!!! We are out the ridiculous charge of 189.00 and our cap still isn't fixed!!!!!! Pathetic. We blame ourselves for not adhering to the negative comments. Don't make the same mistake!!!!

BEWARE!!!! WOOD STOVE ENTHUSIASTS…read more.. After a long search in my area for an installer of a wood burning stove (purchased from a well known company) I found Hancock Chimney Service. All of the other companies would not install due to the fact the stove was not purchased from them.. Hancock would. Hancock Chimney charged $99 off the bat to come take a look, then they would send a quote. If I ok-ed this, the $99 would be taken off the total, otherwise you were out of luck - basically locked in. I was quoted $6,000. High end from my research. With obviously wanting the stove, I agreed to have them install. End of October 2022 was set for installation. They had called for the stove manual to be sent before installation, so it was HAND DELIVERED to them. Installation date was approaching and after many attempts to reach the installer to go over what I needed and when to expect the installer, I finally received a call TWO days beforehand. The installer ASSURED the 2 pieces I did not have (hearth & stove board) would not hold up the job. Morning of installation came and the two installers spent half the day measuring where to place the stove and looking in boxes of parts. They informed me that unforeseen parts were needed (couple elbows & straps). They were going to pick them up and return the next morning business as usual and get this thing installed!!! The office called the next morning.... $1,700 ADDITIONAL CHARGE, for the few pieces. That was the end of this disaster. Classic bait and switch.... To make this even more of a scam, they sent an invoice for $1,400??? WTF Having worked hard for a living, I understand paying the two workers for their time. But that is just unreasonable for what "labor" they did do (approx. 6 hours). They really expected me to pay a total of $1,499 for an incomplete job and a run-around. UNPROFESSIONAL! Shady company. Look elsewhere. Van I. Rockford, MI
