I had generally consistent service for a few months, but over time I started noticing recurring issues: missing socks, occasionally receiving other people's clothing in my order, and finding dust or debris on items that were supposed to be clean. There were also times when everything was returned heavily wrinkled. The final issue was what led me to stop using the service altogether. Several of my work shirts were returned with black ink stains scattered across them. These shirts cost $150 each to replace. To their credit, they did offer to take the shirts back for stain removal, but they were returned with the stains still present. Love this company. I use their Pickup wash&fold service. The website makes it so easy to schedule. They come right to my front door, and drop back off at my front door too. And it's always next-day turnaround (except for Fridays). Staff is communicative too , they'll always send a text letting you know when they're picking up/arriving. Also this company isn't charging an arm&a leg like other wash&fold services that are much more expensive and don't even have the quick turnaround. The vibe of the entire experience is like ... In reply to business owner: When I did use your laundry service, I would drop my laundry off personally, and the receipts were always handwritten/ handled entirely on paper. So I am not surprised you couldn't find my records. Perhaps issues were never brought to your attention because the Russian (?) employee who works in the office is extremely defensive and opposed to accepting any fault. That homeless guy may not work for you, but he 100% was helping load your laundry van that morning. Maybe something you can look into with your delivery employees. We have been using SF Wash for a month now every week and it's been perfect. We get a text message for pick up every Wednesday, the owner is super kind, we get our laundry back the next day. Easy. My sensitive skin didn't tolerate the detergent the first time so we've now included our laundry in the bag and it's great. After losing confidence with another spot nearby that had damaged a few things and had some maintenance issues- we've been using SFWash for about 6 months and it has been outstanding! Very nice spot for a laundromat in this area. I noticed one washing machine out of order today and the owner was very prompt in repairing the machine. Whether you're passing by or in the area, this is the laundromat to go to when you need to have your clothes washed and dried immediately. SFwash and I have had a long standing relationship. Their prices are reasonable. Their pick-up and delivery staff have always been friendly in all of our interactions. They do a solid job folding and pairing things together with wash and fold. And I've always appreciated that their pick-up and drop-off time windows have been easy to navigate. You can even select same day pick-up and delivery for an extra fee. But... I've sometimes had favorite clothing items shrink while in their care. I've had missing items. And while I love the smell of standard detergent - my skin unfortunately does not. I had SF Wash launder a cotton velvet quilt. It was delivered in a nicely wrapped package several days later, and I thought all was good. When I unwrapped the quilt, however, I was horrified to find huge bleached streaks across the front and an area where the fabric had eroded and torn. I was devastated. This quilt was virtually new and it was expensive. I contacted SF Wash right away and sent photos of the ruined quilt. They responded quickly and requested I return the quilt to their facility so they could properly assess the damage. Their responsiveness and concern gave me hope for an amicable resolution. Days went by without a word. I emailed and called, and finally, after several weeks received an email assuring me they would be in touch very soon. Had a long standing relationship with SFWash (18 months). Lost items. Laundry not getting picked up. Items not smelling clean. Receiving items which were not mine in my bag (received multiple assurances that they do not wash different orders together, then how do I get socks which are obviously for a child in my laundry?). Final straw: The bag they provided could not keep my laundry dry nor did their driver take care to place it under the overhang at my front door (which would have protected it). Also, the bag was not fully cinched, leaving a 2" diameter hole at the top. Needless to say, I've had to rewash everything and had several items ruined from stains due to bleeding. Yes, they agreed not to charge me for the order, but they then followed up less than 12 hours later telling me that I should seek a new service. This is a message to all the haters. SF Wash is GREAT. I got back from a camping trip and had so much laundry I didn't know what to do with it. I decided to jump for a delivery service. SF Wash was on my radar for a while. I don't have a doorbell, so they called me when they arrived. They arrived right on time and gave back my clothes all in one piece. They even folded them and packed my clothes in neat little packages. I saw a lot of scathing reviews of this place and it really bummed me out. I texted with the workers about my schedule. They were extremely prompt and called me so I could come down and pick up my clothes. Not sure what all the fuss is about. I stayed at the Grand Hyatt in Union Square for three weeks and needed laundry service but did not want to pay the hotel prices which are ridiculous. SF wash was easy and very well priced. Not only did they come pick up and drop off my clothes on the same day, they were accessible via email throughout the process. I'm sure SF Wash are very busy people but they took the time to respond to my emails so that I could coordinate this process without having to wait in the lobby for the pick up. I was so excited to take advantage of the $30 for 40lbs deal. With 2 kids, a full time job and no onsite laundry, I was pressed for time. My clothes were picked up and returned the same day washed, folded and even organized by person. However, I included 3 blankets which each left my house soft and fuzzy and can back crusty. Blankets are $5 each however they were included in my total pound count and I therefore had to pay pound overage fees. Far too expensive and disappointing to have some ruined belongings. MAGICAL AND AMAZING!!! i cannot believe how much laundry trauma I have put up with when I could have been availing myself of the seriously incredible service SF Wash provides. I made an appointment for laundry pickup between 6:30 -8 am on a Monday morning when things got desperate (if anyone knows SOMA, Brainwash is pretty much the only game in the neighborhood, and as such is totally crowded and I've twice now lugged all my laundry there only to take it home again, with every washer full or broken. Lots are broken right now). Anyway, I need clean clothes! Desperately! And SFWash saved me. They arrived at 6:18 am - early! I didn't have to sit around waiting, or go to work late (I was skeptical that people are really up and picking up laundry that early in the morning - I was so wrong!), and now they have a key so it is even easier (and cheaper) for regular service. One day turnaround, all my clothes came back, perfectly clean and folded beautifully and nicely wrapped in paper bundles of joy. JOY i tell you. Also around 6:30 am, so I had a nice clean shirt to wear to work that day! I wasn't sure what weirdness I was going to have to scrounge out of the depths of my closet - but didn't have to thanks to their perfect timing. I've been using their laundry delivery service for sheets & towels while I Air BnB my apartment. They have been AWESOME! I previously tried 2 other services, but they all contracted out to Door-dash, which meant that drivers would not get the directions I submitted and deliveries got mixed up. SF Wash uses their own drivers, gives them clear instructions, communicates directly and quickly with customers by text, picks up/delivers on time, and does a great job with the wash/dry. I hate to do it... but not getting back all your clothes is a big downer. Especially when the clothing missing is your underwear (not my husband's underwear, or any socks, or anything else... just my girlie underwear) Art has a great business, and the delivery guy is so nice. But the places that Art has the laundry done are not that great (hence missing items...) When I called to complain about the missing items Art told me that losing girl's underwear was highly unlikely because all the people who do the laundry are "little old ladies" (direct quote from Art). I am not sure I feel much better about losing my unmentionables to little old ladies. So it is with so much sadness that I am switching to another service. I'll miss you SFWash, but I will be glad to know I will have clean underwear tomorrow. *******An update: ******** The owner of SF Wash has called and emailed me, requesting that I remove my one star post. I feel that you (the person coming here to read about other people's experience) deserves to know the good and the bad, after all, isn't this is the spirit of Yelp? UPDATE: June 26. Today I received some refunds for my cleaning expenses with SF Wash. There was no note or explanation as to the reason for the refund, so I had to make another call to Joseph at SF Wash to understand what they were for. Turns out they were made to cover part of the cost of the 3 sweaters they lost. As of this date, in spite of repeated requests, I never got a call back from Art to discuss this situation with his. Again, this company is terrible in communication and helpfulness when you have an issue. As an update, today is Wednesday. I left a message on Saturday for Art, the owner of SF Wash, to contact me. I left another message for him yesterday morning. I have not heard from him. My requests for proactive communications from his staff have been ignored. My sense is that they are hoping that I will forget that they have lost about $200 worth of clothing. If you are considering using SF Wash's services, I would strongly recommend that you reconsider. I've used them only 9 times, and of those 9 times, there were 4 significant mistakes (outlined in my previous review on 6/14) that they made. I had the worst experience. Monday: I sent an e-mail to customer service inquiring about the items I wanted to clean. They confirmed a price for wash and fold and a pick up window for Wednesday (9AM-12PM) wow that was easy... Wednesday 12 noon: No one has come to pick up my order. I call customer service. A very nice woman says she will pass my message along to the driver and I will receive a call back an eta. 12:30: I call again. Another equally friendly woman helps me. she is sorry, passes a message along and assures me I will hear back soon. 1:00: I call again. Another nice woman answers. I ask her to direct me to her supervisor and she does. The call center supervisor is very helpful and gives a contact number for SFWash. There is little she could do to help beyond that. So I call SF wash and speak with Art. Apparently he was the representative I e-mailed with on Monday and just didn't see my confirmation so my order was never placed. Okay frustrating. I ask to call him back to arrange another time in my schedule for pick up. I call him back. A person who I assume is his assistant answers. I ask to speak with Art. He will not let me. He insists I make my next order through him. I tell him there has been an error and I just want to be 100% my next pick up is scheduled correctly. He says he will talk to Art and call me back. okay. The assistant calls me back. He says that Art insists I speak with him and that pricing has changes and they will now charge me an additional $5 per item on top of the wash and fold cost! What? I tell him that is not the agreed upon terms and I have messages with the representative to prove so. He won't hear, raises his voice and says "If you want it take if not then don't" Worst customer service ever! read more

Very poor customer service across the board! SF Wash is expensive and I used service when I lived in SF due to business travel schedule. On many occasions they did not follow-up with calls and e-mails. Sometime my clothing was left unattended in lobby (where anyone could steal it) vs. on my doorstep as instructed. The last straw with the terrible SF wash customer service was when I was emailed and called to get a $100 giftcard from a friend recovering from surgery. I was sent an e-mail stating they would connect with me in the next day---that was OVER a week ago. I will not be using or recommending SF Wash anymore. You know: the old-fashioned, probably-never-existed kind, who would hand me my coffee in the morning, vacuum the house all day, and greet me with a highball in the evening. But SF Wash makes me feel like I have a wife, at least insofar as they whisk up to my door at 6:30 in the am, relieve me of my stinky socks, and show up again the next day, gracefully plopping beautifully-folded laundry, wrapped in cheerful blue paper, at my door. On the fourth floor. Do they hand me a pipe? No. Do they massage my aching shoulders? Not so far. But boy, am I happy not to have to hang out at the wash n' fold for hours on end. Called to confirm they did drop off but no one was there during they hours they said they'd be, and are posted on the wall. Called about it but the people on the phone are outsourced and couldn't help at all; they were nice though. I also tried the 'emergency' number that is posted but it went to a machine. I ended up leaving as no one came in nor could anyone tell me when they might be. Drop off price is only $0.05 less per pound that them driving to pick it up, which is already somewhat steep. For doing your laundry yourself I wouldn't recommend SFWash if you have something easier. The place is never very clean and the staff doing to pickup laundry takes a good number of machines most of the time so it can be hard to get a washer or dryer. read more

This is my first yelp review ever. I eat, drink, and take part in many other SF services. I've lived inte bay area all my life. But my yelp review hisitancy has always been one of consistency. How do I know that the hole-in-the-wall thai place I review doesn't have off nights other 360 days of the year? SF wash has been consistant, reliable, and down right great! Art is extremely responsive. We get weekly service and ask that our pick up and drop off be within a 30 minute range. For over 4 years, every week, our laundry has been picked up and dropped off mostly within that range. There have been very rare cases of missing laundry and if I've ever had an issue or needed to change my pick up or drop off day, Art has been extremeley accommodating. We are able to specify how we want our laundry done and I know that I can count on them week after week. When I price out my time, the cost to send out our laundry is well worth it. This was a first time experience with SFWash and I think that I will be looking elsewhere in the future. No doubt, the convenience of a service that picks up and drops off your laundry is great, but I was confused by how they managed to miss some small things: - Despite filling out my order online, they mispelled my last name (minor, sure) - Despite making a note about having some shirts hung and pressed, I received them folded in with the rest of my laundry (pretty annoying considering they were fairly wrinkled) - They told me my bill was for $32 when they dropped off (which is the minimum, because the shirts were probably treated as normal wash & fold the price was probably only about 25 so they just bumped it up to their minimum) - I got my credit card bill and they charged me an extra 4 bucks when they ran my card. I never write bad reviews because I feel everyone has the right to have a bad-hair day! However, after giving them many re-tries, I feel that there were too many bad hair days. The positive stars are because I liked their punctuality and reliability for pick up and drop off....but I used SF Wash for my professional skin care spa services, and therefore for me to provide my clients with an environment that suits my style of skin care, I need to have wonderful wash and fold services as well as great delivery service.....(and they made a special effort to fit in with my spa schedule - and I appreciated that). I use micro fiber sheets in my spa because they are quick to dry and don't need ironing - so reducing energy requirements. Well, my previously 'non-creased' sheets kept coming back looking more creased than they went in. Art was great in his communications and always said that it will get better, well it did for that 1 subsequent occasion and then went back to being really creased and badly folded. Some of them, I fear, are now permanently creased. Anyway, I kept on trying to get it right with them, and even offered to pay more for better quality service (like take the sheets out of the dryer as soon as the cycle is completed, do not use high heat when drying, have the staff learn how to fold sheets decently)..... I decided to end my relationship with them when I was told that the operations manager had called several times and had left a message for me about my latest request...well I am the only one who picks up voice mail here, and no messages were left.... I just feel it is bad style for any business person to not be honest with the customer, and I certainly don't like people making up stuff to try and get out of a difficult predicament. Subsequent to this, I now put myself through the hassle of taking all my spa laundry to my West Portal Cleaners who provide the most amazing high-end Korean or Japanese style wash and fold services....incredibly meticulously folded and hardly a crease in sight. I live at the top of a very large hill. For three weeks, I stood at the top of the hill, old lady cart full of dirty chonies, staring down to the wash'n'fold below. After going to a hair appointment in clothes that I'd normally wear to a wedding, after not being able to find my cat for twenty minutes because she was burrowed in a nearly 30 pound pile of dirties, I caved and scheduled a pick-up with SF Wash. They picked up my clothes Thursday morning, whisked them away, and returned them this morning still warm from the drier. They made magic happen without me leaving the house. I have been a regular weekly customer of SF Wash for several months, and was reasonably satisfied until today. However, on my last load of laundry I included a small blanket - the kind one would use on a sofa. Having done my own laundry for years, I can say with great empirical certainty that it doesn't take one damn bit of extra labor to wash such a blanket, nor does its fabric require a separate wash, and it takes *less* work to fold it. So you can imagine my shock today at seeing SF Wash had tacked on a $5 gotcha fee for this blanket. Gotcha fees like that are abusive and offensive. They make me want to take my business elsewhere. I am really sad to see SF Wash sinking to this low, especially after I praised their former lack of gotcha fees in my original review. read more

I love, love, love Blue Water Laundry. My relationship with them has just begun, and I have to admit it was a little rocky at first. But, like many relationships, it was well worth the initial work. When I first submitted my order for laundry, I somehow missed the final wee, tiny, itty bitty "submit" off the bottom of the page. Then next morning at 6 am, PICK UP TIME, I was up, dressed and waiting on the steps, laundry bundled and ready to go. And waiting, and waiting. I began to have a nasty suspicion. Finally, being smart, but a little slow, I checked my online profile at https://www.bluewaterlaundry.com/default.aspx - sure enough, no order! The next time, a Wednesday, late afternoon, I put in another order, this time vowing to commit and submit to the clean, alas, I was too late for a Thursday pick up with Friday delivery. I knew the clothes were all dirty, but I might need them over the weekend anyway. So, I opted for Monday pick up with Tuesday delivery instead. Monday finds me ready and waiting, once again. Alas! Some foul error has come to pass and there is no nice person at the door come the appointed time. This could have been enough to sour me on the whole service. However, one call set things straight. I spoke to Art, who was apologetic, never defensive and incredibly helpful. He promised to come by for my laundry within 45 minutes. About 20 minutes later, there he was, on my doorstep ready and willing to take the wash. Come Tuesday morning and Art, all helpful, is at the door with my clean clothes all wrapped in blue paper and nicely labeled. The only thing that could make this service better is if they would come over and put the clothes away for me. The details, you ask? A little over $30 for a big bag of laundry (bag provided). That's two weeks of laundry for me. They separate the colors and allow you to choose your (eco-friendly) detergent, bleach and softener. They also do dry cleaning. I'll keep you posted. read more

Under the weather and reduced to having the strength of a wee mouse, I was staring at six loads of heavy laundry and cursing the fact that I live on the top floor of my apartment building. But thanks to a quick (desperate) Yelp search, I realized there was hope. One quick online form completion later, sfwash was scheduled to come by to pick up my laundry and deliver it back fresh and folded in 24 hours. It seemed too good to be true. Right on time the next morning, the most adorable woman showed up to pick up my laundry bags. She was like an angel. A Laundry Angel. (Keep in mind I was running a fever.) She simultaneously lifted six loads like it was no thing and whisked away down the stairs. The next day, everything was returned in lovely condition. SF Wash is FANTASTIC. Not only is their service great and reasonably priced, but they've actually saved me more than once when I've forgotten to put in an order before 8pm. One time I didn't put the order in on time, and they actually PICKED UP AND RETURNED THE CLOTHES THE SAME DAY. Because they are awesome.
