I had two of my bedroom windows replaced by SF Window in 2010 and now both of the bottom sashes are completely rotted out. It seems that they did not properly seal the windows, letting rain into the wood. Sandon and his team were absolutely fantastic. I cannot recommend them more highly. For anyone who has had to contact door and window repair professionals, they would know that these sorts of professionals are hard to find, and when you do, they are in super high demand, and most of them barely return your calls. Sandon was there on the job, and he and his team competently handled the issues. Not only did he repair my warped windows and rotting frames and doors, but he went above and beyond and did a whole lot more. Some of small stuff that he did, was outside the scope, and he did it for free. This guy is a professional. He is well spoken, articulate, diligent and a bit of a perfectionist. The only critique is that he is super busy and had to split up his task over many clients just so he could keep people happy in the process. I do not begrudge him for that. If you are looking for a door and windows professional, I whole heartedly recommend Sandon Ritter and his team - Julian, Gage and Coulter. This is the email I received from them after I sent info about the window help I needed... I don't think this is a very customer friendly approach. They basically ask you for $100 bux without giving you ANY information whatsoever. In my mind, this is ridiculous. I've got a crappy, single pane, aluminum-framed windows that I need to get replaced. The guy who came to give me the estimate was awesome. On time, friendly, clearly explained my options. A solid Joe. I felt like these guys would get my business. Then I waited (and waited) for an estimate to arrive. It didn't. I called to check in. A week or so later, it arrived with a thud. About $1000 to change one, standard-sized window. Whoa! That was about twice what the guy who came out and gave me the estimated said I should expect. I'm bummed that I can't give a glowing review. Alas, I recommend shopping around and getting at least another estimate or two from other window guys. read more

We tried to work with this outfit due to the glowing yelp reviews - particularly with regard to their alleged professionalism. So, we made an appointment with these folks at 11. They come at 11:15. I ask them to wait a few minutes while I sort out things with my nanny and a conference call. I also asked them to call my cell, not my wife's. They wind up calling my wife's phone anyway, then they can't wait the 5 minutes it takes for me to get down there to pick them up from the lobby. So, some easy questions: 1) Is our business worth a 5 minute wait or not, when we were made to wait 15? 2) What's the value of a negative yelp review? 3) Here's the best one - we're in a 270 unit building - and we're all looking for screens. And we have an internal building message board. Is this review going there, too? 4) Do parents of young children tend to own their own places? In the bay area, do they tend to ask for contractor recommendations on parenting mailing lists? Do those questions happen DAILY? Read my other reviews. My mechanic and real estate agent have gotten tons of business through me, either through yelp, or especially word of mouth. That goes the other way, too. read more

I called SF Window Pros since they received some good reviews here on yelp. I made an appointment for them to take an estimate for the 10 windows I needed replaced at my house. The appointment I made was for a date about a week away from my phone call. 48 hours before my appointment I got a call telling me that they were too busy to come and tried to find another day for our appointment. I informed them that I already took that day off from work to get quotes since I had lined up several other jobs with other contractors for that date. I only have a limited amount of vacation time and I wanted to get as much done in the one day off I had. They apologized and just left it at that, no appointment, just find someone else... Anyways I thought that was very unprofessional to just break an appointment like that, I guess a bigger job came up after I made my appointment. read more

I had a very good experience with SF Window Pros. Sandon is the owner, and Leonard did the work. These guys are experienced and thorough. Leonard is also a really good guy. Initial quote came in a bit high, but Sandon was willing to negotiate. Pros: Quality work, reasonable price. Thorough. Clean. Courteous. Cons: Did not show up on time - around 1 hour late the first time, and 20 minutes late the second. So, if you are willing to haggle and flexible on timing, then a strong recommendation for SF Window Pros. read more

Called Window Pros to replace a dual pane window with cross wooden partitions that a stray bullet had come through. Came over quickly to board up the window and took a week to order glass and replace it and painted it too. Fully itemized receipt matched his quote and Sandon was responsive via phone throughout the project. Recommended. read more

Getting a window REPAIRED rather than replaced seems to be a difficult thing to get for some reason. SF Window Pros came through but the price was high and quality of work could be a bit better. We had a sliding glass patio door with a bad plastic roller on the bottom. Most people tried to scam me into changing the whole door for $3800 but SF Window Pros was one of the few willing to REPAIR it for $500. A $5 plastic roller was all it needed, and they spent about an hour total on the job. So I consider the price to be high - minus one star for that. They didnt fully push in all the rubber weatherstripping when reseating the door glass into the frame, so minus one star for that. So all in all, three stars. read more

These guys are great! I had several windows in my older home suffering from dry rot damage. Everyone else I called for an estimate wanted to replace them all at great expense. SF Window Pros repaired them all for 1/3 the price of the other estimates. That included painting the repaired windows to match the originals. The results look great! read more

These guys are great! They came in to fix a leaky casement window, determined it needed only to be re-shimmed and not removed and charged me only 50% of the original estimate. Not only that, but Zack pulled the trim so carefully that when he re-installed and caulked it I couldn't even see where he'd done the work. This saved me repainting cost as well! Note: 9/2012 This company no longer does window cleaning!!! On behalf of our HOA (8 units four stories) I conducted due dilligence of 6 window cleaning companies. Each came out and strangely each had a unique approach to cleaning including one who insisted on gaining access to the high units. There was a comfort when we spoke with SF Window Pros. There was no cockiness, no talking over us, no grandious plan - just plain knowledge and work by hand. They arrived on time, in great sprirts and after a quick tour, they went about their work - I checked in a couple of times and they were moving at a solid pace. Needless to say we are pleased and now they are our window cleaner of record. read more

We had dry rot in our wood windows, but only in spots so I didn't want to replace them, just fix the rot. I contacted SF Window Pros, and as soon as I sent them some photos of the problem, they said they could fix the issue. When they showed up for the job (on time!) they inspected the windows, and found spots I had missed. Long story short, they took out the windows, boarded up the space, and took the windows to their shop to be repaired. Two days later they came back with the repaired repainted windows, and reinstalled them. At all times, they checked in with me to confirm what they were going to do, then did it, and kept the place tidy and spill free. While not the cheapest outfit, their work is impeccable and worth it. What they charged is still 1/3rd of what it would have cost to replace the windows, and took 1/10th of the time to get the job done. read more

These guys are the best! First, they are affordable: they came in with the most reasonably priced quote. Then, when they realized they had, in fact, under-quoted me, they split the difference and they were still the best price. Second, they are timely: they were timely in email, phone, and text communication as well as showing up when they said, and giving me ample notice if they needed to adjust the scheduled time. Third, they have good customer service: always pleasant and respectful they came back immediately to fix one little problem, and then did such an excellent job of fixing the situation, that not only did they attend to their minor error, they fixed another window contractor's mistake as well, and at no extra charge! AMAZING workmanship, We replaced bedroom windows and they also fixed a half-a**ed job our contractor did installing new kitchen & dining room windows last year. Please know that new windows are NOT cheap, but we think the results were well worth the investment. We have better sound proofing now and our rooms are less drafty. Their responsiveness, as noted by other reviewers, can be spotty at times. I sense that they have a ton of clients and don't always return calls in a timely fashion. However, the guys, Sandon and Leonard, know what they are doing and I appreciated their easy-going style to get our new windows completed and fix the mistakes made by another. First appointment I had with them, they were too hung over from the bay to breakers to come and measure, when i stayed at home from work to let them in. Then, after saying they'd reschedule, I never heard back. i guess they must have some great business going, cause what company would not try to get the business??? I did call and reschedule, mostly due to not finding another company that made sense to use. They did show this time and took measurments. When they came to deliver, I did stay home yet again from work, and of course, they either brought the wrong screens, or they totally F'd up the meausrements. So, they did bring new screens about another week or two later. They charge a $150 installation fee, there is no question they were not at my place for more than 3 minutes to install these things... which ALMOST fit perfectly, but still have some cracks which obvioulsy allow for the occassional fly, mosquito, etc. read more

SF Windows Pros are extremely professional and reasonably priced. I had been struggling for years with windows that would get stuck while sliding. SF Windows Pro immediately figured out the issue, and showed up a few days later with the very reasonably priced parts needed for the fix. After replacing the springs, the windows worked beautifully. A few months later, I ordered some custom sliding door screens, which ended up fitting perfectly, and again, were well priced. They were ready exactly when Windows Pro said they would. It was not cheap - maybe windows aren't - but they did a quick, professional job. I called at least four places: One contractor wanted to rip out my stucco and charge me $11,000 for two windows, another window specialist came and never sent a quote until I hounded him for two weeks, and another just never showed up. SF Window Pros came, took them maybe 10 minutes to talk with me about what I wanted, sent a timely quote, gave me a reasonable time frame when the windows would come in and installed the windows the day after they arrived. The process itself took most of the day and it was kind of messy, but they cleaned up all the mess, and then some. One of the windows had some scratches on the panes that looked like pencil marks and they aren't coming off with windex, so I took off one star. Not terribly noticeable, but still not perfect. All in all I would recommend these guys again in a heartbeat. read more

So our house got broken in over the holidays. Aside from stealing our stuff, the burglar left a broken window that needed to be replaced. The first person we called to board up the window tried to scam us (yes, even after knowing that we just got robbed). After calling several places, we decided to have SFWP replace our window. The person we communicated with on the phone seemed knowledgeable and gave us a reasonable est. The guy they sent out came on time...but once again HE tried to scam us by trying to charge more for labor than what they quoted me on the phone. Naturally I was skeptical to go with a company I hadn't worked with before but after having three windows installed by this great team today, I'm happy to report that I will definitely be using them from now on and recommending them to all my friends!! I was contacted by JT who set up my initial consultation/estimate appointment. The owner came over promptly and provided an estimate within 48 hours of the appointment. The longest part of the process was getting the custom windows ordered, that took about 3 weeks. We provided payment for 1/2 the estimate (the windows/supplies) and the remainder of the invoice after the work was complete. All of the windows look absolutely amazing and we couldn't be happier overall with the treatment of our home by the service team. We actually had them do some additional measurements for more windows before they left - because we were that satisfied! These guys were very terrific. They restored all the windows in my house - - no small job. Very nice guys, professional, pleasant. When I asked if they needed a deposit they declined, saying they had my windows and that was all the deposit they needed. They definitely work hard, but if the snow is good they might disappear for a few days of snow boarding, which is understandable. read more

I called several window replacement companies. I needed the glass of a five by six foot picture window replaced. The sill after 25 years was broken and now the most important window in my home was ruin. It looked like the glass of a shower door which had not been completely cleaned. This was not an easy job by any stretch of the imagination. It is located on my third floor. To complicate matters the sidewalk slants and a five by six foot piece of insulated glass is very heavy. SF Window Bros came out and gave me a very competitive bid. Then on the day of the removal of the old window and the replacement I stayed home to observe. They did a great job. These guys were great. They were a little late (45 minutes) without calling, but they made up for that by doing a great job. We had them clean the inside and outside of our windows in our second floor condo. Our windows were super dirty for 2 years of traffic on Bush street. They are now sparkling clean and look amazing. These people were able to install a window screen in an old "louvre"- type bathroom window. Several other companies were not interested as it was on the second story of a two story home; it turned out that it wasn't necessary afterall to install this type of screen from the outside; Leonard was very professional; he even made time for the intial appointment on a Saturday as he said he had another job in the area! Within a week Leonard and Jason returned, installed the screen and made sure everything was 'goood to go'..This was one of the easier customer service experiences I've had in a long time and in the business of property management customer service and good work is rare and appreciated.
