During that time, strangers were frequently in her home for repairs and renovations while our baby was there. One day, our baby refused to drink milk because of all the noise and chaos, but Lisa didn't tell us. As a result, our baby became severely dehydrated and went without food or milk for six hours. She also regularly came home with a full, unchanged diaper. Lisa never sent us any pictures or updates, and when I asked, she would get irritated and say she was too busy with renovations. That's unacceptable -- she was supposed to provide a safe and caring environment for our child. Later, she demanded full payment for the next month, but we refused since she failed to provide proper care and safety.

When compared to other daycares, this place is not a part of any fancy chain and doesn't have all the bells and whistles of other places, but my daughter was definitely well cared for and loved. One thing to note is that the daycare does adhere to DPS closures and also has more in service and vacation days than most daycares (1 week in the summer, 2 weeks in the winter, scattered in service days), so you may need to plan your vacations off around it.

The staff, teachers, and administrators are great. Everyone knows my kids by name and really cares. The montessori method is also great at fostering creativity. I recommend the school.The test scores are lower due the Montessori method not always meshing with standardized tests and some demographic biases that affect the scoring. My children have grown in this atmosphere and show academic and developmental progress as well. One other thing, the dual language program is a gem. We are an English speaking family. My 5 year old is immersed in Spanish and can understand and is starting to speak a second language in just over a year!

From the moment I arrived, I could feel the care, structure, and positive energy throughout the entire academy. The staff was attentive, nurturing, and fully engaged with the children -- it was beautiful to see. During storytime, the children impressed me with their focus, discipline, and excitement to participate. They listened so carefully and interacted with so much joy. We even created a fun little song together on the spot, and they jumped right in with bright smiles and enthusiasm. IKid Academy deserves a big congratulations for cultivating such a loving, organized, and enriching environment. The children played well together, shared naturally, and showed so much kindness toward one another. I left feeling inspired and truly impressed by everything I witnessed.

I was also impressed that they truly did teach my child some Spanish. There is great communication. Because of this experience we now also have our younger child with them. The leadership has been stable for many many years as well, which is rare. Finally, they are nut free thankfully so no worries about these allergies.
