Love going to JoAnn's! She is the sweetest! I first started going there when I was in middle school to have her hem my plaid private school skirts. My how the time has flown! I just had my wedding! JoAnn altered my wedding dress for the big day. I wanted a lot done... She took in the middle part, adjusted the straps, and shortened the bottom (which might I add was all lace, this pretty floral lace that went around the entire bottom part of dress). My dress also had floral lace, sequins, pearls, multiple layers... It was some work! Ha ha. After it was all said and done, my dress looked so great! I got so many compliments on my wedding day and I felt so pretty. I can thank JoAnn for that. (: Because I wanted so many things done (lol), and I had another bridesmaid dress I needed altered, I went over there a few times to get everything just right. That being said, I have an 18 month old daughter that I brought with me to my appointments... a sweet baby girl who is extremely curious and assertive and lively and fun! JoAnn always made me feel so welcomed, and she reassured me that my daughter wasn't bothering anything (even though she was like a little mini tornado, ha ha). That was really comforting for me. She even let me come pretty much whenever I wanted as long as she had an opening. That was so awesome with my daughter, and I can't thank JoAnn enough for being so accommodating. My mom usually came to the appointments, too, to help with my daughter while I got fitted and we thought it was fitting for JoAnn to now be "Auntie JoAnn" to us because we just felt so comfortable being there. She's so sweet and her family is so sweet. We could literally talk to her all day. I love it. We also got a few masks from her because she had some super super cute designs for sale, and she even offered to make some sunflower ones for us because my mom and I love sunflowers so much. (You can guess what my wedding flowers were... sunflowers!) It was just very sweet and thoughtful that she offered to do that. I love our new sunflower masks! (: I kind of hate wearing masks, but it does make it better to have some cute designs to wear. (: Overall, I was obviously happy when my dress was done because that meant yay, wedding day is near! But I was genuinely sad because our trips to JoAnn's would probably be paused for awhile. I told her, "JoAnn I'm going to just come over and hang out with you guys." Ha ha... I wanted to give her a big hug before we left for the last time and I'm happy she let me! (: To add, though, it wasn't the last time. A realized the day before my wedding that my veil and my daughter's flower girl dress were wrinkled and needed to be steamed/pressed. I texted JoAnn in a slight panic and she had me come over and got it done in no time. Ah, crisis averted. (: Thank you, JoAnn! Thank you for making me feel so pretty on my wedding day, and for doing such a good job! read more
