ONCE AGAIN IMMENSELY PLEASED WITH DAVIGS SERVICES!!…read more I brought in my grandmothers wedding dress that she had stored for over 50 years. Her dress was in a very poor state, yellowed from time and many years of storage. I had a man, in his 20's, following me around, who claimed he didn't speak English. I pulled out my phone and he used translator. His input didn't translate. He kept me in his eyesight. I went out to my car to bring a bag out. What I saw him do made me question getting my laundry. The man was circling inside the laundromat looking for me. He kicked a chair in frustration. He kept asking for my phone. Ladies, your keys are a weapon, your phone is a weapon, carry pepper spray, protect yourself. It wasn't Martha there. Mixed picture here. Clean laundromat. Not a given. When staff are there, they are helpful,…read moreproactive, attentive. Plenty of machines. Lots of front loaders. Three of the ginormous ones, several more a little smaller. Then many regular sized front loading and top loading machines. One problem starts here with the washing machines. The very large ones don't spin well enough. If the attendant is not there to push the machine along a little at the end, you have a very damp finished load -- that requires a fortune to dry. The large dryers were also problematic, finicky. On the top, the one next in from the left does not heat up properly. The controls for multiple machines created problems for all somewhere during their attempts to use them. The other larger dryers on the other side were much easier to use, had no issues that I could see. Laundromat has a bathroom, vending machine, a dispenser for laundry supplies, as well as a small play area for children. There are several tables to fold laundry, chairs and rolling carts with the rack to hang things from. These are all clean and in good shape. The washers/ dryers use a card system. You purchase a plastic card at a vending machine by the desk, then you load it up either with cash or from a credit card. System seems to work satisfactorily. Laundromat opens at 7:00 AM weekdays. That looks to also be the best time to get the large machines. Staff assistance is only available until 11:00 AM.

Service is slow, allow 2 - 3 days turnaround minimum. As they are convenient and being the only game in town, they have a relatively captive audience. So, with no other nearby alternatives, mistake free service, albeit slow turnaround, and fair pricing, this dry cleaners performs at an acceptable, although not above average level.

So far, Jim Dandy has ruined two sweaters; one was a very nice heavy wool sweater from South America, the other was an Ann Taylor cashmere sweater that my husband bought for me as a Christmas present about 9 years ago. They shrunk the heavy wool sweater and offered to try to stretch it back to the right size. No luck there. The cashmere seems to have been put in with a darker piece that transferred a darker color onto my sweater. That sweater was expensive and I am very disgusted that the company ruined it. I will not be taking anything to this company to be cleaned again.
