I called Sew It Alterations and asked if thy knew how to do military uniforms, and they said yes. I took my dress uniform in, told them what I needed, and even left them a guide with pictures. Two weeks later when I showed up to pick up my uniform, my patches were sewed on my jacket, pointed 45 degrees backwards. I told them it was wrong and asked them to fix it. Again I showed them pictures and explained how it should look. I went back a week later and it was wrong still. I took my uniform to another alterations shop, where the owner immediately noticed the issue, and removed the patches and fixed it. Do NOT use Sew It Alteration for your military uniforms! read more

Sew It Alterations has been a great lesson in not trusting reviews. The quality (or lack) of the new hem of the jeans I brought in are shocking to be associated with a professional alteration business. I immediately noticed several problems: the stitching was sporadic, as if there were inconsistencies while running it threw the machine and the hem was curved, making the two pant legs uneven. I would normally overlook both of those but my pants were significantly shorter than what had been discussed! read more

Let me start this by saying the work was done very well. The woman that was speaking with me literally told me I was too fat. To my face. I brought in a bridesmaid dress that was ordered for me online. When I received the dress, it was 4 sizes too big. Couldn't even make it work for the wedding without alterations. So I brought it to this place, knowing nothing of them, just driving by. I gave them ample time before pick up because they told me they were short staffed and very busy. I said, "no problem! I just need it by October 15th" after bringing it in the beginning of September. The woman said "November 15th? And I said no.. we can do November 1 if that's better. But the wedding is the 10th." I was measured & went on my way. I came back November 5th and it was now too small by about a half inch. I asked them to fix it & came back 2 days later. This woman told me I CLEARLY gained weight and she had to undo ALL of her original work and that it was a waste of time. She literally told me I was too fat to fit into the original alterations, and I shouldn't have ever had it altered when it was legit falling off of me the first time I brought it in. I wanted to leave without paying I am FUMING. The professionalism in this place is nonexistent and they have no tact. I paid a good amount of money for them to call me fat. I left in tears. Just had an alteration to a canvas/cotton winter parka pullover. Couldn't be more pleased with the fit. Just excellent work!

Would give 0 stars if I could. The employees are very nice and I think they might be good at alterations outside of wedding dresses. But if you are thinking of taking your wedding dress here... DON'T. Go anywhere else. I really do not complain about anything but they ruined my dress with my wedding 12 days out. I took it to two different alteration places after to see if it was fixable and both told me no and was astonished by the job that they did. I ended up having to buy a whole new wedding dress. But I am out the money on the old one that they ruined and the money I paid them to alter it. So sad and disappointed that my dream dress was ruined. read more

The staff here are so friendly. I had a formal gown altered in less than 2 weeks close to prom season. The arms ended up needing to be altered as well and she did it at no additional cost! Will def be using again! read more
