The initial scheduling and consultation went great. However, when I went in for my first fitting, the suit was 3-4 sizes too large. It was comically large on me. For the second fitting the suit was still 1-2 sizes too large. They then let me know that unfortunately there was not enough time to do another round of alterations before the wedding. So all the wedding photos are of me in a ill fitting suit. Was the suit terrible? No. But, did it fit? Also no. After the wedding they offered to do yet another set of alterations, this time with a different attendant, who did a much better job on making the suit fit. I usually have my suits made in London but was an early patron of David's because he seemed to have passion for his art and devotion to the highest standards of craft and service. So awhile ago I had some trousers hemmed and a duffle coat and trench coat altered. At this time David took in alteration work outside his bespoke commissions (I understand that now he does made-to-measure, not true bespoke). His shop did a fine job, so I was pleased that when he decided not accept piecemeal alternation work from non-regular customers, he told me I would be an exception. I have just found out that he has reneged on this promise and will not do any alternations for me. As I'm sure many reading this will know, finding a good alternations tailor is difficult if not impossible in many areas of the US. I am fortunate that I make several trips to London every year so can have my alternations done there, but I cannot help feel aggrieved, especially as I went to some effort to promote David and recommended him to friends. High-end men's clothing is a small universe and one's reputation for integrity and honest dealing is all. For that reason, I cannot recommend this shop. read more

I had a tux made here for my wedding day. I picked out all the details - fabric, lapel, pant style, suspenders - everything. The process was amazing and very special feeling. The story has a weird ending though - I did not like the way the tux ended up looking on me. It looked old fashioned and I had picked styles that didn't look good on me. I called them back after the first fitting and told them I didn't like it. They instantly understood and apologized, even though I had picked every detail! They said "if you don't like the way you look in it, we don't want you to wear it. It's your wedding day, you deserve to be in something you feel perfect in" and gave me a FULL REFUND no questions asked. They offered to remake the suit as well, but I ended up finding one off the rack somewhere else I liked well enough. I have not been so pleased with how a business is run in a long long time. They clearly operate with integrity and honesty. I will definitely be coming back to have a different suit made. This place has my business for life! read more

I commissioned a very specific made to measure suit to the exact details of the one that Sean Connery wore in James Bond: Goldfinger. An ambitious endeavor for my first tailored suit but I felt that I was in great hands after meeting Eli and David, seeing their atelier, and looking at their fabric selection. The salesman Eli is always dressed immaculately, super professional and knowledgeable of all the fabrics and styles of suits. It's a great environment in this atelier with several seamstresses sewing away and making bespoke suits/altering/finishing made to measure suits, including the owner/founder David. He seems to have been doing this all of his life and lives and breaths suit making. He is usually always there and will offer his expert opinion and advice which was handy for a newb like myself. I searched 6 other tailors in Seattle and met with them to see which one was right for me. Sew Generously is on a whole other level - The quality materials with a passion for the art of suit making and an attention to every little detail...I couldn't find anywhere else. It was great to actually have guidance on the suit design decisions and ask questions to the people who make suits for a living...not just a salesman in a showroom like most other tailors in Seattle. They have an extensive selection of premium fabrics including some of the most beautiful fabrics I have ever seen. They also have a greater selection of lining that I found anywhere else. The suit was ready in about 2 months and was worth the wait. It was clear that I made the right decision to choose them because the suit is amazing. It achieves the Bond look I was going for to perfection. It fits excellently and looks great - Well worth the money in my opinion because you can really tell that this suit is well made...it's actually better than the one that the British tailor made for Sean Connery. This was one of the best experiences we could have asked for. From start to finish, David and Levi helped guide us throughout the process to create the absolutely best suits we could ask for for my wedding. From initial contact, to final fittings they were utmost professionals, fun, knowledgeable, and hospitable. Our first fitting was so much fun; going through all of the different patterns and fabrics while we sipped on whiskey and learned about all of the nuances and idiosyncrasies of the fabrics and designs for our ideal suits. The attention to detail was astounding and Levi was so excited and passionate about every detail of the process. We were also very thankful for letting them accommodate us bringing in libations and some food to make an event out of the whole process. The second fitting was just as fun and exciting as we got to see the progress being made on the suits, and again sipped on some whiskey. The final fitting was astonishing. David was able to take our vision and bring it to life. The suits are phenomenal and each fit perfectly to our very unique bodies (me and two of my groomsmen). The fabrics were incredibly handsome and of the highest quality, our unique choices for the interior fabrics and cuts of the suit made it all the more eye-catching. All things said and done, five stars is not enough for Sew Generously. This is hands down the place you need to go for the right suit, the right service, and the right business. Full Disclosure - this is a 5-star review, 100% without reservation. I love men's suits, but I am not a fan of modern trends in off-the-rack suits. My biggest complaint is the jackets are too short and the trousers are super short-waisted, so I decided to try Sew Generously Bespoke in Seattle for Custom Unlimited suit that was designed just for me from the collar down. I had a wonderful experience and honestly could not be more pleased with the outcome. Aidan helped me decide on style and fabrics and focused on what I really wanted out of this suit. My advice is to come into the shop with some clear ideas on what you want and what application you expect for the clothing you're ordering, but be open to suggestion when you're deciding on fabrics and style. It took me one and a half hours to decide on what I really wanted but I never felt rushed or pressured into making a decision. Then Sean expertly did the first fitting when the suit arrived and worked with me for the final alterations which were minor but were completed onsite at the shop while I waited. Specifically, he has amazing technique, great attention to detail, and he thinks my creative alteration requests is fun and not an annoyance. I've turned pants into skirts, and altered many a pieces of vintage clothing from the 60s handed down from my mother (who is 5'2" and heavier set) to fit me (who is nearly 5'10" and thin set). I've had a really great tailor in Boston that set the standard for me, and I never found anyone since (for 10 years in between) until I found David. I highly highly recommend him! I used David before prior to his storefront , and when I moved back into the area. His handmanship was so impressionable that I looked him up. I was pleasantly surprised to see him move his operation outside his personal home. I got a few pants hemmed from , and a suit jacket altered . I completely trust his recommendations, and his skills set with any alterations. His service is very fair and honest, plus he has a wicked dead panned humor :D. Working with David and Levi was an absolute joy! From picking my fabrics to the final alterations, the entire process was excellent -- very professional and fantastic final products. I got a made-to-measure suit with them for my wedding, and the result was terrific. If you're new to made-to-measure custom suits (like I was), you'll want to order your suit at least 10 weeks before your event due to custom manufacturing and alterations after arrival. This transaction was my first made-to-measure suit purchase, and they were super transparent and patient with me. I never felt that David and Levi were taking advantage of me. They took the time to educate me, so I made the right decisions for my needs and budget (however, they did have some fun showing me the higher-end fabrics, which were... hoo boy... pretty awesome). I went with this shop to get a suit made for my wedding later on this year. The whole process was very smooth from start to finish. I had a lot of helping coordinating the different fabrics and getting it tailored exactly how I wanted it to fit. I had a small project as "test" and David was cool and fixed it on the spot and it cost me less than $10! SOLD! Now the next question is, "Is the guy cool to work with?" YUP.
