I spent over $10,000 on all new Dacor kitchen appliances just a few months back. My dishwasher (that has never been used) is filling up with water and getting moldy because it won't stay dry. It smells and is dripping onto my new kitchen floor. I called the service manager (Laura) multiple times and left multiple messages, but she never called me back. I finally got in touch with her after waiting on hold for 30 minutes, and she said she would call Dacor and call me back within 2 hours. I never heard back from her. I called again and left Mr. Setzer's assistant a voicemail. I got a call back that said Dacor was supposed to schedule a company to come fix it. Laura put all of the onus on Dacor and said that I should be getting a call that same day. Here I am a week later and STILL have not received a phone call from a repair company or a call from Setzer checking on the status of the repair. I spent way too much money on brand new appliances for Setzer's to act like this. Setzer's took thousands of dollars and now doesn't care to stand behind the warranties of the products they so easily sold me. To whomever at Setzer's reads reviews, I have called 5 times and left voicemails. I have called multiple other times and not left voicemails. You should be ashamed of yourselves and your service manager is the rudest, least competent, and least caring person I have ever met. DO NOT SHOP HERE. They take your money and refuse to fix their overpriced products. This doesn't even go into how they "lost" my beverage fridge for days after they thought they lost my dishwasher when we were trying to get all of our products. Terrible company. read more

Very poor experience. An older gentleman was sent to help my wife & I find a wine cooler. Immediately told us that he didn't want us and him to waste our time and we're better off going to Costco to find a wine cooler for around the $400 range as theirs were the top of the line ones. I never told the man my budget furthermore, he told my wife and I that he's been in the business for 34 years and Whirlpool wine coolers starts at $1200. Mind you, I came at Setzer's looking for a sub zero or JennAir wine cooler to match existing appliances. He never asked our budget or what brand we were looking for, he just assumed that a casually dressed black couple walking in on a Saturday afternoon possibly couldn't afford a $3000 wine cooler. We decided to leave and take our business elsewhere. The lady at the desk asked on our way out if we found what we were looking for, my wife told her in front of the sales guy "we did but this gentleman turned us off so we're taking our business elsewhere, for future reference never judge a book by its cover" and we left. We bought a dishwasher, washer and dryer from setzers. After our dryer being delivered dented, or scratched, or just completely wrong (we needed a side vent- the delivered it with a back vent twice) after three times, we finally got in installed correctly just for the delivery guy to put a dent in the lid after he installed it because he had to climb out after getting stuck behind the dryer. After that- tried to deliver us a new lid to make it right just to show up on a completely random day we were unaware of. Luckily we were home but still. This has been a month in a half of horrible communication. We love our appliances; and the people who work the phones are beyond nice. However communication in the company and with their clients are horrible. We definitely regretted spending our money here. read more

Just had our Whirlpool Washer delivered by David and Noel. They did a terrific job taking away the broken one and installing the new washer. David walked me thru the steps to start it, made sure it was draining properly, and left the laundry room better than he found it. Frank, our salesman, helped us get this replacement in record time. We just bought a house in St. Augustine with new Viking Fridge, Series 5 range, Series 3 Dishwasher, Microwave and Wine Cooler which came from Setzer equipment has not been used and all still on warranty. The oven and the dishwasher did not work and we were brushed off by Setzer, who pretty much washed their hands of it. The incompetent home inspection company missed all this. Don't buy Viking; it's junk and you can't get service. And don't use Setzer; they don't care. read more

The WORST floor staff I have ever had the unfortunate opportunity to meet. We came in to purchase two Subzero refrigerator and freezer units, 4 total. We had our measurements and model series ready to purchase at 2:55 on a Saturday. When I asked the floor person if I could ask a question, she rolled her eyes and looked at the other person on the floor with her. And he said, "Hey, we close at 3:00 on Saturday." WOW. So we left. Another family was asked to leave as well. The absolute most rude and unkind service in the 5 minutes I was there. And I'm actually a repeat customer. Many times over. Don't waste your time. Save yourselves a lot of trouble and buy from another place, like Best Buy or Costco or a different company. This is the worst company I have ever done business with. Very stuffy in there... I came in ready to buy and did my research. I was looking to rebuild our kitchen with Viking appliances.. this was the only place I knew of that sells them. I was welcomed by a friendly receptionist but sales staff disregarded us. Disappointed because this is where my mother purchased appliances. I'm purchase online from a different retailer instead. I have no fault with the Sales staff. Jason was patient and thorough in identifying a replacement gas range with the specific features I needed. Terrance and James delivered the appliance on schedule; Barry did a yeoman's' job of problem solving. After that, little to no support as the range was defective. Setzer's pointed to LG and vice versa. Even after a serious safety issue, it took 5 1/2 weeks for my range to be repaired and functional. Scott Bissell worst salesman ever. Made multiple purchases in the past, but will never go to Setzers again. If you see a response to this review note I submitted detailed written complaint to the company. Long story short, ordered a Bosch dishwasher in March of 2021. First delivery date was 16 weeks possibly longer due to covid. Checked in at 16 weeks and timeline was extended to 28 weeks. In January of 2022 started checking in every two weeks. Scott was rude and defensive (speaking over me when I tried to ask questions), always suggesting I cancel order and source elsewhere. At 13 months I sourced with online vendor, who had forty units in stock. The dishwasher was installed, it cost over $500 more due to price increase and installer cost. When I cancelled the order I told Scott I was very disappointed in my experience with Setzers, it had been the worst ever. He responded by saying it was his worst experience as well. I indicated that I would be posting online review. He said to go ahead as he had many stellar reviews and it wouldn't matter. I guess it won't as I received no response from my complaint written to the company. I would not suggest using this company. read more

Buyer Beware.. We purchased new Kitchen appliances on Nov. 18th 2017, They were suppose to be delivered on Nov 27th and installed on Nov 28th. Delivery was late in the evening.. They could not install the Microwave as I was told by Pete our Salesman , that there was a problem with our wall.. Excuse me ,we had 2 microwave installed previously with out any issues. (I'm sorry this is so long, but I want you to understand what you're dealing with before you make the same mistake we did buying from them. This is a horror story that I wish I had read beforehand). I hope to never have to deal with this Company again! We ordered all of our appliances from Setzers in Jacksonville. Viking cooktop, Viking oven, and Kitchenaid refrigerator. Not just any Kitchenaid refrigerator, top of the line 5 door, stainless steel, $3600 refrigerator. Less than 1 year in, it began to rust. We called for a Warranty check. Fields Appliance (their factory authorized service company) came out and agreed all 5 doors needed to be replaced. A month rocked on, finally we called to find out where the doors were, and were told Whirlpool (Makers of Kitchenaid) denied the claim. Citing that we lived near the coast! Well, our other appliances aren't rusting and the refrigerator doesn't sit outside! They sent us a 6 oz bottle of rust cleaner. Setzers never offered to help at all. After repeated calls we were ignored. A few months later, this refrigerator stops cooling! Called Setzers, again were told to refer it over to Fields Appliance. This was in March, 3 months out of 1 yr warranty. The refrigerant system is warranted for 5 yrs. This was also right at the beginning of Covid 19 shut down. Fields could not give us a appointment, due to shut downs. So, I called a local company to fix it out of pocket. He discovered a leak in the coolant lines, fixed the leak and replaced the coolant.( $453.61 on 4/9/20) Great, it works! About 3 weeks later, it stops cooling again. Called local service repairman out once more to see whats going on. He replaces a thermal bi metal sensor and wellahh! It works again! ($100 on 4/28/2020). About 3 weeks after that, it stops working again! We are thinking by now, it's a problem for Setzers, Whirlpool, and Fields. We call the local service repairman out to confirm and he states that the evaporator fan motor will need to be replaced, and that part replaces all sensors as well. ($59.99 5/28/2020 service call). We call Setzers and schedule an appointment with Fields. First appointment we could get was 6/16/2020. Guy comes out, and cited a factory defect, per a technical bulletin he had, and relocated a sensor. Simple as that, he assured us it was fixed! Even though I pointed out it felt no cooler when he packed his things to leave. It did nothing! In the background Setzers ( when they would call back) were supposedly working with Whirlpool to help fix the problem! Whirlpools reply was that since our repairman was not factory authorized, it completely voided our warranty! Explaining we had no choice, since Fields wouldn't come out and by now we are without a working refrigerator for 3 months, they could care less! Feeling totally frustrated, we call Fields again! On 6/19/2020, they send out another repairman. This guy came in, opened up the back, and immediately stated the refrigerant was over filled. Didn't do any diagnostics, just told us that we were F**ked, and walked away, without even putting the refrigerator back in place! Neither Fields rep hooked up a diagnostic tool to confirm any real issue, I guess they just knew! Total incompetence! So... As of now we have paid the local repairman ($448.33 on 6/26/2020) to order the evaporation fan motor and install it this coming Monday.(7/20/2020) Total amount out of pocket at this point, $1053.90. I cannot emphasize enough how poorly we were treated. We were building a house in the Palencia area and were warned by one of our close friends NOT to deal with Setzer's as their customer service is horrible. However, We liked the quality and variety of products they offered so ignored our friends experience and advice and ordered all of our appliances from Setzer's. Initially They were great to deal with and truly knew what they were talking about with all the products. We were assured that delivery would be in accordance with our builder to facilitate seamless installation. We liked what we saw and were hearing so we wrote the check for the products and set up the delivery dates. That's where the bottom fell out. They were on to the next sale and to hell with us. When the delivery went to hell in a hand basket we couldn't get anyone to return a call or take our call. I can't tell you how many times I call that place and lost it. All to little or no avail. Let's put it this way...we moved in 3 months ago and still have a dented refrigerator that isn't installed properly. My wife has called them 4 times and is still waiting on a call back. We will call once again tomorrow and loose it on someone probably to get nowhere. If you ever even consider this company feel free to reach out to this post and my wife and I will contact you and tell you specifics. There were a lot of issues in building a home and we were ready for them as we have gone through the process before. But Setzer's is so much worse than any other professional experience either of us have been through we felt compelled to take the time and wrote this much on our experience. Buyer be ware. Let me first say I worked in customer service for 40 years and I know what is good and what is bad. I have to say this is the worst we ever have been treated. After trying to get a refrigerator from Home Depot we were refused delivery because we have a lift chair which they refused to lift over. The wife is disabled so we need the chair. We then started calling other dealers and Setzer said they will make deliveries that other stores will not. We showed them pictures of the stairway to our second floor condo and pictures of the lift chair and track. We made the purchase and was told a store person would come out and make measurements. He came, measured, told us it looked good and left. The following week on the delivery day we packed up food in the coolers and was told delivery would be between 1 and 4. No show no call. I called at 4:30 and the woman on the phone told me they will not deliver without the railings being removed. We were never told that as I told her. She put me on hold, a guy came on saying there was miscommunication as the measuring guy told them nothing. He told me that they could not lift the refrigerator over the chair as they would hit the ceiling The ceiling in that area is 30 feet high. I checked out the hand railing and I told them I could remove it giving them more room to bring it up. I was told they could not deliver till the following week and they would call. Again, no call. I called on Wednesday of the following week and was told by our salesman that they would not deliver and we would have to remove not only the hand railing, but also the acorn lift chair and the track. This is not feasible because of cost. Order was cancelled. I feel we were treated extremely poorly, no communication, enticing us to buy knowing the issue with home depot, the pictures and explanation of our issue. We will never go back and let it be known to others that they should beware of this terrible retailer. read more

We built a new house seven years ago in Gainesville, FL. Based on the recommendation of our builder, we bought all of our appliances (refrigerator/freezer, cooktop, double wall oven, dishwasher and washer and dryer) from Setzer in Ocala. Our salesman was wonderful, knowledgeable and friendly (Phillip). However, we have had nothing but trouble with all the Kitchenaid appliances and Bausch dishwasher. Our cooktop stopped working within two weeks of using. It was under warranty, so we had it repaired. And as a result I bought an extended warranty for the cooktop. It has had to be repaired twice, once we had to wait two months for the parts to arrive. Our refrigerator has had issues since year two. Different thing broke down, would not cool or freeze up. One of the doors for double wall oven, for which we paid more that $3000, came off about three years ago and cost $350 to repair. Our dishwasher never drained properly, and when the repairman came, found a piece of broken glass in the drain area. To the best of my memory, a glass had never broken in our dishwasher. It never worked properly, and the repairman finally told me it was best to replace it since it was not worth fixing. We have spent over $800 to repair and fix different things that have gone wrong with the french door refrigerator. Whirlpool has been no help, often have to wait more than an hour to talk to someone. The latest is that our freezer stopped working, and it is going to cost $700 to fix it even though the part (compressor) is under warranty. The repairmen have been here twice, with wrong parts. Today, when I complained about all the things have gone wrong with my purchases, he said sometime, people returned a defective product back to the store, and the store repackages and sells it back to another customer. If only one of the items was giving me problems, I could understand, but have 4 out of six items I bought break down is unusual. I called Setzer a few years ago and complained, and I was told it could have not been their fault. We were sold brand new products. Having had a very successful experience buying a washer & dryer at Setzer's a year ago, I returned recently to purchase a new refrigerator because mine was leaking. I asked for Scott Bissell who had sold me the W/D as he had provided me excellent service. Yet again, I was not disappointed in Scott's knowledge of the products he sells and his effort to get the delivery of the new refrigerator expedited so that I wouldn't having to continue dealing with the leak. We purchased $45,000.00 worth of appliances in March of 2019. One item being a Miele dishwasher. It has never worked. A technician has been to the house twice unable to resolve the issue. It is now July. Still no working dishwasher. Setzer's says wow. We are really sorry. I hope you can get it fixed. They have refused to help us and it is a nightmare working with Miele. Initially I contacted Setzers requesting to speak with a person who was knowledgeable with Sub Zero refrigerators. I was immediately forwarded to Scott Bissell. During our conversation, it became apparent that I was connected with the right person. We made plans to meet on the Saturday 12/14 to finalize the sale. As I walked into Setzers I was informed by the front desk that Scott was unavailable.....Scott was involved in an auto accident on his way to work. However, I was immediately greeted by Blake who assured me that Scott contacted him about me. Eventhough Scott was detained, he informed Blake of my situation. Blake was very professional and attentive. When he didn't know the answers to some of my question, he immediately sought assistance from Michael. Great teamwork!!! As a result I am a very satisfied customer. Oh and I purchased the Sub Zero. The delivery and install was done by George and his crew. Amazing, knowledgeable and friendly crew. While I love my appliances and Kelly, the salesman who advised us; however, the customer service at Setzers is just terrible. They are rude and inefficient. When I called about the lights in my ventilation hood, the woman had an unpleasant tone of voice. When I called her out on it, she said, "I'm sorry you feel that way. ". Seriously, humility goes a long way. My appliances are less than a year old and still under warrantee. Evidentally, Setzer is only willing to give me a phone number, not actually organize the repair. I purchased a Fisher Paykel induction range from Setzers in May 2018. The first range had a defective cooktop. It would only produce an error message, and was unusable. A replacement range also had the same defect. At this point Michael Setzer informed me the manufacturer admitted there were issues with their induction ranges. Instead a Verona induction range was ordered after Mr. Setzer assured it included rolling racks in the oven. The range was delivered with no rolling racks, and regardless of many phone conversations with Mr. Setzer and assurances that they were being shipped none have been delivered. The range is over 5 months old now and I have not received any rolling racks. My last phone call has not been returned. The range is loud and rattles when the oven is in use. I bought a fridge today, and my salesman was writing up a receipt and talking to me . He did a great job. As a rule....I buy locally and skip over Home Depot or Lowe's. As I was checking out, Mr Setzer came out and interrupted my salesman and me. He was raising HELL about my salesman holding an appliance a day or two for a customer to make up their minds about purchasing. He said he did not care that my salesman had told the customer he'd hold it....and that HE had a buyer now. My salesman tried to explain he had already given his word to the first customer. The manager again told him he did not care and it could not be held , because another customer wanted it NOW. He wanted it sold now and then and it could not be held. I do have to say that my salesman, Scott was great; patient and professional and very helpful. Furthermore the delivery man, Chris, was a top notch customer service representative and a real pro, unlike his rude owner. I originally gave a 1 star due to Mr Setzer's behavior...but changed it to 2 start for my salesman and delivery man. read more

We had a wonderful experience purchasing a ventless fireplace insert this morning. I had been looking for quite a while for someone who actually had these on display in the JAX area and could teach us about them. I had also done some research about ventless logs in Augusta, GA which is where we have our other home. The salesman at Setzer addressed the same safety questions the more conservative folks in Augusta had and did not try to up sale us on items we did not need. I buy most items off the internet, but when dealing with propane gas, I wanted professional installation and local businesses that I can trust. I look forward to these logs coming in late next week and being installed the following Monday. read more

We purchased a freezer at Setzer's about 3-4 years ago. I am writing this review later as I believe the post-sales experience is valuable as well as the shopping experience. When I shopped for the freezer, I asked to purchase an upright freezer; my previous freezer was purchased at Setzer's, and I asked for the same type. I was sold a freezer that is NOT FROST FREE and has to be defrosted every few months, what a pain! I was not aware that this was being sold to me as frost free. In addition to that, when the freezer was delivered, it had a large scratch on the side, so I either had to start from fresh and shop for another one, wait for a new one to be delivered, or accept the scratched one. Since it was in our utility room, I accepted the freezer with a minimal discount for the large scratch. I have purchased ALL of our appliances from Setzer's over the years, but since the original owner is no longer running the store, it truly has lost its good customer service. I have read the reviews here, and I am not at all surprised that there are some similar issues with shoppers. read more

My husband and I went to Setzer's in Jax., FL looking for a new stove and wall oven. We were told with the purchase of two Jenn-Air products, we would get another appliance that did not exceed I believe $1,300. We purchased the stove, wall oven and decided on a hood vent. We waiting for quite a while on the appliances and when the construction crew went to put them in discovered the vent was too large. We needed a smaller size. We ordered a smaller size and waited and waited then we contacted Setzer's and requested a status update. We were told that Jenn-Air did not have this hood but it would be a special order and will be released on Nov. 6th. He then proceeded to tell us that Jenn-Air is charging us a restocking fee for the larger hood vent of $423.44! At the very least, we should not charge with a restocking fee because of the waiting period for the appliances to begin with and the delay it has caused with the construction on our house. I am very disappointed with Setzer's and Jenn-Air. read more

Avoid Setzer's at all costs!!! Purchased an over $3,000 fridge from them and it was delivered damaged ( this was NOT purchased damaged or as a "scratch and dent" deal)! When I called them on it immediately, they sent our sales person out to look at it. After seeing the damage, he admitted it should have never been delivered. Setzer's washed their hands of the fridge and said the brand new fridge needed to be "repaired" and farmed it out to a company in Orlando to do the repair. Waited two months, and the repair person brought damaged parts to repair the already damaged fridge with, which he said happens more often then not. The repair tech left in a hurry , unable to answer what should be done next or when. Now, our original sales person won't respond to our calls, sends us straight to voicemail ( according to Setzer's receptionist he's "too busy for us") and won't return voicemails. Setzer's is now telling us we have to wait another two months for the repair. You read that correctly... we purchased a brand new $3,000 fridge from Setzer's, it was delivered damaged and now we have to wait 5 months in hopes that a third party will repair it. Buyer BEWARE. They are all and only about the money. They installed the gas fireplace in the house I bought from DR Horton in 2006. A part broke in 2008 (thermocouple) that ignites the fire (wall switch). The company that made that Fireplace went out of business. I looked online but couldn't find anything for that company. I called all over to try to find a solution. Setzers made it sound like they could fix it. Instead all they did was tell me they couldn't without that manufactured part. They had no problem taking my money twice to tell me that on a service call. Dummy me. Called setzers 10/18/19 and was told I'd need a whole new system that would cost thousands of dollars because there was no other solution?? They also said if they did make universal parts for fireplaces it would mean they wouldn't make any money. They aren't looking out for consumers-they are looking out for only themselves. Just so happens I googled the manufacturer of my fireplace yesterday. I not only found a distribution company that sells parts-they had the part I needed! Best $25.00 I spent! I must tell anyone who purchases from Setzer's buyer beware they do not help you or advise you or tell the truth at any point.after purchasing $20,000 worth of appliances including a range hood which was missing the clips and the outline to align the hood. it is impossible to install this without these pieces. we made 7 different phone calls and spoke to the manager each time.and he assured us the parts are on the way. please keep in mind that these pieces do not cost more than a dollar. for 3 weeks he told us that they were being shipped. After receiving the wrong parts he proceeded to tell us that he was going to ship the right parts to us express delivery. That was six weeks ago. after calling him again to let him know that I did not receive anything he stated that he would ship overnight. two weeks later no parts. so i am sitting here with a $2,000 range hood that cannot be installed.
