I have had great experiences at Setzers. I have bought 6 appliances from them. The whole team is great and have had no issues if there is even a small blemish on delivery (actually sent back a range at direction of the sales person due to a minor manufacturing blemish). I went to Ferguson's down the street first and had a fine experience, but the service and prices are what made me go with Setzers. This past time I have been working with Scott Bissell. Scott did a great job informing me of my options and trouble shooting issues with my current appliances (even before I bought new ones). He has been extremely responsive to any questions I have and keeping me updated with delivery information and instruction on how to inspect the deliveries. He has made great recommendations on installers (he gave me options for price points and explained the benefits of each option). Would highly recommend buying from Setzers and working with Scott or Blake. read more

I have nothing good to say about this company! As we walked in the door, a lady behind the reception desk asked what she could do for us. It was an unusual greeting, so we questioned if we could just look around the showroom, like we have done on previous visits, and she rudely stated she had worked there for 8 years and everyone must check in so that a salesperson could come to help us. She was being sarcastically argumentative, but we told her that we were looking for a new Induction cooktop, so she told us to walk into the show room and a sales person would meet us there. When the salesman greeted us, we explained what we wanted and he walked us around and showed us several cooktops, without ANY explanation as to features, or pros and cons. We told him that we currently had a Bosch cooktop and we were fine with staying with a Bosch, and he suddenly started mentioning other brands, including lower end models like Kitchen Aid. We again stated that we were okay with staying with Bosch. He then walked to his desk, saying that he would check to see what he could get in Bosch or Kitchen Aid. We followed him until we realized that he was just going to sit down in front of a computer, so we decided to wander around to get a better idea of our options. He never came to join us again and when we walked back towards his desk, he was sitting on the phone. So apparently he wasn't really interested in our business. As we walked out, the receptionist wished us a wonderful rest of our day, being as sarcastic and snarky as she was when we first walked in. As I got in the car, I realized that I must have leaned up against something, because I have what appears to be some type of grease or oil all over the front of my pants. Needless to say, we are heading to another appliance store and will never be returning to Setzer's. I had the same experience with Setzers as described by Alan H's review. Bought ~$80k of appliances and got the same BS after the fact about delivery and installation. The people they recommended to install were somehow even worse than Setzer's customer service. Save yourself some time, and go to Ferguson or FCS. If I had known that Setzer's offered zero added value as a local business (installation, communication) I'd have ordered from Build.com. At least I would have gotten the coffee machine in the color I ordered it in. read more

We just finished a complete kitchen renovation and everything with the appliances was great due to Setzer's. It is really helpful that they have so much for you to look at on the floor. Then, working with Scott Bissell really made everything go so smoothly. He is incredibly knowledgeable and helped me fine tune and make my selections. He also helped with delivery, installation and rebate information. When one appliance came with a dent, he quickly responded and replaced it within no time. We ordered all Bosch (refrigerator, double oven, induction cooktop and dishwasher), except for the Zephyr two drawer refrigerator. read more

The person who answers the phone is default unfriendly. We've made three calls recently from different phones so no chance she was reacting to knowing a specific person was calling. My wife called about an issue we are having with a barely out-of-warranty washer. Warranty ended 9/5. Machine failed 11/1. She spoke with Scott attempting to get information on recalls and other advice for handling this. No anger. No "ask". Scott was impatient and didn't let my gentle, considerate wife finish a sentence before launching into a defensive lecture on 'machines.' I can't imagine this business gets many repeat customers. Last week we went to Setzer's to purchase a new wall oven. We met with Jason the sales person who had sold us many appliances before. As always, he was very understanding, knowledgeable and courteous, and he was able to find one of the wall ovens that we had wanted in his warehouse here in Jacksonville. As hard as it is to believe it was delivered the next day The crew of three men who were very efficient, knowledgeable, and courteous did the installation . we would highly recommend this company to purchase an appliance. read more

We were not happy with our Setzer's experience. We needed a new refrigerator and wanted to upgrade to a Sub Zero or Thermador. After looking at the two models for a few minutes in the showroom, we elected to go with Thermador (we had done online research prior to arriving). Total time in store 30 minutes. Sales price for fridge $17,000+. I'm sure the sales associate, Kerri Damon, earned a pretty nice commission for very little work. She seemed knowledgeable, but . . . she never responded to a single email; she completely mismanaged expectations on delivery time; she never disclosed there was an additional $700 installation charge (not collected at the time of the sale but over the phone 6 weeks later); and they rescheduled delivery and install twice. We finally paid $1800 to have someone else install the fridge. 2.5 times the Setzer charge, but we didn't want to wait another 10 days for when they could get around to it. (Oh, then we find out that the installer we hired is often contracted by Setzer's to do installs, so Setzer's COULD have hired an installer to do it on time). Would not recommend. Have been telling friends and coworkers to avoid. read more

All of our appliances are from Setzer's- GE washer & dryer, Samsung refrigerator, KitchenAid microwave and Viking Doubke French Cafe Oven, cooktop and dishwasher - all ordered installed during the pandemic which due to supply chain delays was a challenge to everyone. But Setzer's staff worked hard to keep us advised, get the manufacturer to deliver our appliances as quickly as possible and install the appliances quickly once they arrived at Setzers. A special shout-out to Candy who answered our many calls and got us to the right person, Jason who tirelessly reached-out to Viking to track the progress of our double oven and Mr Setzer himself for hiring the best installation team to install what we now call the beast - which if you look at the photos you will see an amazing Double Oven with Cafe doors that had to be lifted with a special jack it is so heavy and solid. The installers did an amazing job! Our kitchen is beautiful because of the amazing appliances the Setzers tram helped us install. The Samsun refrigerator is so versatile- it has 4 doors making it especially easy to slide bins and shelves out of the lower freezer - especially nice if anyone in your home is challenged by mobility issues. An added plus is the ability to switch one or both of the bottom sections from freezer to refrigerator if like many families you need more refrigerator space but keep a garage freezer close and handy. As the pandemic continues to make Appliance availability challenging we just want to thank the Setzer family for working so hard to make our kitchen remodel so beautiful. And we also love our Washer Dryer set. read more

Jason, my sales specialist was patient and walked me through all the options for the appliances that met my needs, was available for calls when I thought of additional questions and was a joy to work with. When we walked in looking for GE appliance (to use a credit we received from a defective freezer); we walked around and walked..no sales help?! Finally a lady cleaning the appliance asked if we needed a sales person we said yes so she went and found us one. Franck turned out to be helpful-he knew a lot about many appliances we could get-ice maker, water heat, dishwasher. Regrettable GE doesn't make all of these or aren't rated that well. What they did have were beautiful professional kitchens for the real gourmet chefs(who lives in your house) 6 burner gas stove, huge refrigerator, lovely cabinets and multi-material counter tops ...all pricey I am sure! Frank claimed their regular prices are the same as Lowe's and Home Depot's sale prices...not sure but it is a place to look at if doing a kitchen remodel! I recently bought a microwave to replace one that I'd bought from Setzer's during a kitchen renovation 10 years ago. The identical model was no longer available, but Scott (salesman) worked diligently to find the appropriate model because it was a built-in hanging model that would have to fit exactly. The microwave was installed yesterday by James, who is such a professional. Scott had recommended an installation kit, which I purchased when I ordered the microwave. It turns out that James didn't need it for the install so he returned it to the store and Scott happily refunded the cost. I thought the price for both the microwave and the install were competitive and I'm very satisfied. I highly recommend Setzer's. read more

Buyers beware, Setzer's will scam you. I owned a top-of-the-line Bosch Benchmark series dishwasher. It was working perfectly and did the best job washing dishes of any appliance I have ever used, it had a built-in water softener for my very hard Saint Augustine city water, but it had a significant weakness in its drying function. Because these units are built without a heating element for drying, they use very hot water and a long dry cycle to dry the dishes, not very effectively. A few years ago Bosch developed a new drying technology called "Crystal Dry" which I recently read was finally coming to the Benchmark line for the US market. I figured there might be post-Covid supply line issues as these units are manufactured in Germany so I decided to pre-order one if that were possible. I called Setzer's and reached a very pleasant salesperson, Kerry Damon, who presented herself as very knowledgeable about their product line. I explained my situation and she responded "You are lucky you don't need it in a hurry, it's backordered for a year." She confirmed that the new model had all its predecessor's features plus Crystal Dry, and to complete the pre-order I had to pay IN FULL. I thought that was a pretty aggressive sales policy but I am really tired of hand drying my "dry" dishes so I went ahead and paid for it, and signed a copy of the order form. I did not know it at the time, but my doom was sealed. Ms. Damon put last year's Model Number on the form, and I did not check it.There are onerous restrictions on the document calling this a "special order" and severe limitation on returns including a 30% restocking fee. Two weeks later Ms. Damon called me telling me my order had miraculously arrived. A few days ago, I gave my "old" dishwasher to a friend for his mother. The next day my new one was installed. The inside of it smelled strongly of mildew so as soon as the installers left I ran a quick cycle. This model has a button that says "Extra Dry" so I definitely hit that one, thinking "Oh yeah, no more wiping off clean hot dishes." But post cycle, everything was wet. Depressingly, drippingly wet. I read the manual. No Crystal Dry. I had been hoodwinked into buying an old model they dragged out of a warehouse somewhere. My options at this point are severely limited.Yes, the salesperson is incompetent and willfully negligent, but I signed the paper. I am writing this to warn potential buyers, do not trust what a Setzer's salesperson tells you. Confirm anything independently before you give them a penny or sign a form, they are, in my opinion, unethical in their business practices. Perhaps they will give Ms. Damon a bonus for selling me a last year leftover expensive appliance at full price that I did not want or need. read more

We are extremely disappointed and frustrated with our recent experience with Setzers. We had been long time customers, since 1982 when we bought our first home. All of our appliances have come from Setzers, but that will no longer be the case after our last experience. Our double ovens needed replaced in March 2023. We went to Setzers and Scott Bissell sold us on the LG Cafe series, basically because it was the only double oven in stock and could be installed relatively quickly (four to six weeks). We also had an additional charge for installation. The price quoted went from approximately $300 to now almost $600. As the price continued to rise at every turn, we called Scott for assistance and arrogantly was told it is what it is, pay it. We even placed a call to Michael Setzer. He, of course, never returned the call. No offer of assistance whatsoever from Setzers and this is the installer they arrange for to come and install the product we purchased from them. The problem with disputing the charge and not paying is they can put a lien on your house, so you are pretty much out of options. As to the installer, personally he was very nice and wanted to make the installation perfect. As for the company, Watkins Delivery, they changed the bill every time they gave us a quote. We agreed to the initial quote and paid the bill. Then two weeks later another bill comes for additional charges. We disputed the additional bill, but reluctantly had to pay so they would not lien our property. Then yesterday, another bill for an additional $100 for coming back to check the level on the ovens, which the installer admitted he had not checked initially. Unfortunately, there is no longer good customer service at Setzers. Heaven forbid we have a problem with the ovens. They have our money and they no longer feel any loyalty to the customer. We could have gone to a big box store for the same product at a lesser price and received the same or better customer service. And as for Watkins Delivery, we would certainly not recommend these scam artists either. As a footnote, shortly after the installation issues, our microwave needed replacing. We did not return to Setzers. They have lost a loyal customer and all future sales, including the upcoming refrigerator and stove top. read more

The only thing this place has to offer is a nice showroom with many makes and models of appliances and a fairly knowledgeable sales staff but... out of the 4 kitchen appliances that were delivered the range and microwave were damaged. We had asked for the microwave and dishwasher be installed but the delivery guy said another group does that. Today they bring another microwave to replace the damaged one and it had more damage than the first one. So, fed up and pissed off we accepted the original, had it installed and sent the "replacement" back. Now it's time to install the dishwasher. Installer calls me over and says it won't fit. Meaning the space where our old dishwasher was set now isn't deep enough for the new one. Really? Again, fed up and pissed off I told the guy to just leave it. Somehow we'll make it work.?. Oh yeah, they left the old dishwasher, too Hopefully the range comes in with no damage. This story isn't over yet, stay tuned! read more

If I could give a lower rating, I would. My experience has been a disaster from the start. I was told the ventless gas fireplace I was ordering was most likely in stock and the salesman would get back to me by the following Monday to confirm. I was very happy about this because it would mean that I would have the fireplace running before the holidays. Two weeks go by and I call and find out it is indeed in stock. This should have been an indication of the service I was about to experience. Then the scheduling. This took more weeks - understandable. Next disaster is when the unit actually came and was installed. Everything looked great. Nice high flame - beautiful. Even the installers had never seen such a tall flame. The first time we had the fireplace on - Halloween - all of our smoke detectors went off. We had a heck of a time getting them to turn off. The next day, I notice the whole wall above the fireplace has black residue all over it. It turns out, the fireplace was plumbed for natural gas and we have liquid propane. Good think our smoke detectors worked and our house didn't burn down. So, this took many more weeks to get the correct parts and have them installed. When the new parts arrived, the crew came and replaced the parts, but they didn't finalize the switch on the wall and so we have no toggle to turn it on or off. This wasn't a huge deal because we could use the remote in the meantime. (update - still no toggle switch). Next disaster, the fireboard that protects everything above the fireplace from catching fire has a crack in it. Setzers was made aware of this in December and as you may guess - nothing has been done to resolve this issue. Next disaster, the fireplace will not turn on. I have called repeatedly and threatened to post on social media if my issues with the fireplace were not resolved. I have been patient, have followed up and have not received adequate service. My advice is to buy elsewhere if you are looking for a gas fireplace. I will update this review if and when my issues are resolved. read more

They charged more for the appliance than the big box stores but they were supposed to provide a better installation service. They did not. They gouged our floors and set up the range incorrectly including wiring it wrong until I stopped them. We had supplied appliance sliders but they refused to use it and even managed to damage it. I could not recommend Setzers over the big box stores, save your money go for the best price because Setzer's does NOT have a. superior installation service. read more

We had to work with Setzers for our new home being built in Silverleaf. The service after closing has been very disappointing. We have been asking for service since August on our dishwasher. The delay is always being blamed on Covid. When I call the lady in service I always get her voicemail saying she will return the call in 24-48 hours. Nothing. I left a voice mail message for Michael Setzer asking for his assistance. Still nothing. Very frustrating when your appliance is under warranty. I would not recommend this appliance store. read more

FORMER LOYAL CUSTOMER TELLING YOU TO STAY AWAY FROM SETZERS I try to shop small and local. I first bought from Setzers half a million years ago when I was young and needed a washer and dryer. I went back again ten years ago when I replaced all my kitchen appliances with Setzers. When it came time to buy a new ice machine, I once again went back. Somewhere along the way, they went from a local company that cared to one that is apathetic and lacking service after the sale. I needed a washer and dryer and was sold on a Speed Queen. I sacrificed capacity size because the salesman told me it was a workhorse and incredibly reliable. 7 months later, I have a broken washer on my third service call (three separate issues mind you). The salesman kept telling me that I had a seven year parts and labor warranty, and now suddenly it's five. He also keeps telling me how surprised he is that I'm having a problem with my machine. It's clearly a lemon and Setzers doesn't care once they have your money. A few months back (while my washer was still working), we ordered refrigerator drawers, a microwave drawer, and a dishwasher. As with most things these days, it took months and months to come in. When they called to say that the drawers were in but the dishwasher was not, my husband got angry. Magically the dishwasher arrived with our order the next day. So I apologize to whomever was supposed to receive that one. Oh! And make sure you know that for items like these, they don't include install so you have to contract separately and pay for install on your own. They won't tell you that until you've made your purchase. This is backed up too, so I currently have all the items in my garage waiting for install. I was a lifelong loyal customer and now I'm done. Shame for them as we bought a house with many multiple remodels to come and lots of appliances that will need purchased. I'll go to big box stores while looking around for another local retailer to support. read more

Setzer's was highly recommended by friends. I was looking for new kitchen appliances (Fridge, stove, dishwasher, otr microwave, all Samsung). The salesman, Kelly, was rather braggadocios and told me what I wanted didn't exist with the exception of a very high end brand but later changed his story when he looked up the Samsung appliances I told him about online. The store has several Samsung appliances in their showroom. In the end I ordered my appliances from them and was told it would take 3 weeks, it took 5 weeks and when I called after 3 weeks, my phone call was met with irritation by Kelly. When the appliances arrived, the delivery guys were pretty good. All the appliances were as expected except the microwave, it was defective. I called Setzer's and left a message for Kelly but he never called back. After a week I called again and asked to speak with someone else. Instead of replacing the appliance, they called Samsung tech support who were as bad at communication as Setzer's. My experience with Setzer's will send me to their competition when I have to replace my appliances, they are not communicative and I felt that once they had my money, I was obviously too "small potatoes" for them to care about. I engaged Setzers to help me get my natural gas fireplace operational. The scheduling process was handled efficiently. The service technician that came out was helpful, informative, and left me with a functioning fireplace. Granted, this was a rather simple "repair" since all that was needed was some wirebrushed, the tech was patient and thorough in explaining to me what I need to know to keep the fireplace operational. I was charged exactly what I was told when I scheduled. My experience with their service organization leads me to highly recommend them. read more

Salesperson (Kerry Damon) is VERY AGGRESIVE and not accurate in her sales pitch! Example: Bought Speed Queen Washer & Dryer and was told to get an extended warranty as "all units only have a one year warranty". Glad I passed on the extended warranty, because the units arrived and had a taped on sticker advising units had a "5 year in-home parts & service warranty" from manufacturer! Also, her delivery promises are VERY inaccurate because walloven ordered (with $1700 deposit) would not be available for 6-8 weeks! After many calls to store I was advised to take a refund of the deposit and "shop elsewhere"! After some thought I did this and found the oven in stock at another store. When called to get promised refund was advised they had the unit and if I refused there would be a 30% "restocking fee" deducted from refund because I had signed a form containing that statement! Apparently this was an inaccurate statement because full $1700 refund was received! Obviously someone at store realized i had NOT signed any paperwork and only made original deposit via credit card over the phone. I will NEVER do business with Setzer's again! read more

We bought a French door fridge with water dispenser outside. The delivery was a disaster with two little young men who weren't up to the task. They pushed the fridge over the water hose and cracked it. We didn't know this for a week until the laminate in the kitchen bubbled up. A call to the salesman went unanswered. While Setzer did finally replace the floor, he paid nothing toward the $600+ plumbing bill. read more

Working with Setzer's has been an absolute NIGHTMARE! The worse part of our remodel by FAR! First, we were assigned to a salesperson who apparently only works weekends so you can't get return calls from him during the week. And when you call the store the receptionist is ALWAYS so rude. She only wants to give you 30 seconds of her time to state the reason for your call and immediately says "you need to speak with your sales representative" who is not even there. She is also EXTREMELY condescending!!! She seems miserable with her job. Get another job. Then there is the fact we were told our trash compactor would arrive September 29th only to call on September 30th and be told it "might" actually be there in mid-December. Then come to find out it did actually arrive on October 1st. Great news, right? Not so much. The trash compactor came with a door that's not level and won't open correctly. And here I am today waiting on the service technician which was due here hours ago. And lucky me, I called Setzers to see if they can find out where the technician is and had the displeasure of speaking with their RUDE receptionist again. Just to be told they don't do "service" calls and to call Fields Appliances. I've now been on hold for 45 minutes with Fields. The sage continues. Please take my advice and DON'T DEAL WITH SETZERS! I purchased a Kitchen Aide dishwasher and was delivered 6 months ago along with ALL my other appliances from Setzers in Jacksonville. Spent 10K dollars with them. The dishwasher has NEVER worked. Has flooded my kitchen TWICE. Setzers REFUSES to take any responsibility for it. They keep scheduling repairs. We are now on 7th attempt in 6 months and still nothing works. I am beyond disappointed in Setzers. They could have replaced the dishwasher with all the money they've spent on parts to change out. They care nothing about you after they sell you their products. He kept us updated on order status for items that were back ordered. He coordinated delivery of the items directly with the contractor. Delivery was exactly when they said it would be. We used Setzer's Company for our appliance needs and Scott was very knowledgeable, sincere and honest about possible delays due to supply chain changes. All our appliances arrived on time, we really love our refrigerator and gas cooktop as well as hood vent. They are the perfect compliment to our home. The refrigerator doors were a little misaligned and Scott set up a repair with a young man named James. He was very cordial and friendly and worked until the doors were aligned. We purchased all new appliances from Setzer's in December 2021. They were installed on December 23rd. The new dishwasher has never worked properly. We were told it was installed incorrectly so we called Setzer's. Long story short, after numerous calls, we are now going on 5 months with no dishwasher. The owner is rude and could care less about the business that locals give him, so if your reason for going with Setzer's is that you want to give a local small company your business, don't bother calling them. The nicest thing I can say about them is that Candy, the dispatcher, is a saint to put up with the owner. She has always been very pleasant on the phone.....and one of their service technicians, Mike, is really nice. Other than that, it's been a HORRIBLE experience. read more

I really wish I was getting to write a 5-star review here, because our family loves to support local businesses over big box stores. However, I absolutely cannot. Prices, showroom experience and selection of brands/items were all excellent, but that's where my positive experience ended. After not receiving a quote for over a week, after walking through the showroom to select items, I had to call and verbally walk through every item again - Debbie had lost my paper that we spent almost an hour developing. We went back and forth for a couple weeks and finally made some decisions to order during a great rebate period. When my items (a whole kitchen suite) came in nearly two weeks later than promised, delivery was an absolute disaster. I scheduled delivery for a Friday but they never came. I called and was told I was not on the schedule due to a communication problem at their office. They put me first thing Saturday, but arrived with missing items and had to come back. (Side note - the hard working delivery guys were so nice - someone should put them in charge.) I was also told by our salesperson that I could not submit rebates until all associated items were received because serial numbers were required for submission. Unfortunately everything took so long on their end that the rebate period passed and I missed out on $500. Michael Setzer himself tried to rectify this, but there were weeks between phone calls to reach a resolution. Wife and went in to buy a washer/dryer combo. I really wanted to avoid having to buy at a big box store. To put it bluntly - we were really put off by our salesperson, Greg. He kept pushing us to buy this one specific model that was on sale. According to him, all the other manufacturers and models are junk. After we didnt apprear to bite he would dissapear and we had to go find him just to ask a simple question. No other customers in the store and this guy cant be bothered to work with us. They dont put prices on any of the appliances and make you "sign in" when you enter the store. It was a disappointing experience. They seem a bit pretentious. The guy at Best Buy was knowledgeable, warm and friendly. The guy at Setzers didnt seem to be into his job at all. Maybe he was upset we weren't buying a Viking kitchen. read more

I spent over $10,000 on all new Dacor kitchen appliances just a few months back. My dishwasher (that has never been used) is filling up with water and getting moldy because it won't stay dry. It smells and is dripping onto my new kitchen floor. I called the service manager (Laura) multiple times and left multiple messages, but she never called me back. I finally got in touch with her after waiting on hold for 30 minutes, and she said she would call Dacor and call me back within 2 hours. I never heard back from her. I called again and left Mr. Setzer's assistant a voicemail. I got a call back that said Dacor was supposed to schedule a company to come fix it. Laura put all of the onus on Dacor and said that I should be getting a call that same day. Here I am a week later and STILL have not received a phone call from a repair company or a call from Setzer checking on the status of the repair. I spent way too much money on brand new appliances for Setzer's to act like this. Setzer's took thousands of dollars and now doesn't care to stand behind the warranties of the products they so easily sold me. To whomever at Setzer's reads reviews, I have called 5 times and left voicemails. I have called multiple other times and not left voicemails. You should be ashamed of yourselves and your service manager is the rudest, least competent, and least caring person I have ever met. DO NOT SHOP HERE. They take your money and refuse to fix their overpriced products. This doesn't even go into how they "lost" my beverage fridge for days after they thought they lost my dishwasher when we were trying to get all of our products. Terrible company. read more
