We bought a sofa bed from Seth Michael and had it shipped to Arizona. The customer experience at the purchase was perfect. Still, a good experience at the point of sale is pretty easy. What happens when there is a problem? We found out. We moved from one city to another in Arizona and discovered after the move that the sofa bed did not work as it had in our previous house. Truly, we didn't expect much in terms of help. We often experience customer service as a dying skill set wherever we turn. But, we were wrong to assume the worst!!! Michael and Seth took care of our issue so attentively and with so much follow-up that we were stunned by the level of care they exhibited. As a result, I would buy anything they sold. I find it difficult to shop "long distance" especially for a sofa sleeper...however, I was very impressed with their online videos of sofa selections, walk thru of showroom and demonstration showing ease of operation. When we moved into a townhouse we had a room that we wanted to serve as a guest room and a multi-purpose TV room, but weren't convinced a "couch bed" would be the right fit. My husband and I recently relocated to Baltimore from San Francisco and live near MiY Home and drive by there all the time. We recently did a major renovation on our loft condo and kept saying that we needed to stop in and check the place out. We finally did and were so glad that we took the time to do so! Unfortunately we had already purchased a lot of the furniture we needed for our place somewhere else. We ended up purchasing two love seats for our master and guest bedrooms. The quality of the products they sell are amazing and we spent a good hour looking at different fabrics with Seth. I can't believe I haven't reviewed MiY Home yet! I bought a home in Baltimore six years ago and have accumulated many pieces of furniture from here. Michael and Seth are the owners and really know their stuff! The first time I visited here, they helped me design the layout for my rooftop deck. We decided on a modern outdoor sectional with two outdoor lounge chairs, a side table, coffee table, and umbrella. The quality of the furniture, their knowledge, and personable touch had me coming back. A common issue with rooftop umbrellas is that they can often disappear on a windy day. They recommended a double vented umbrella and I haven't had any issues. A few years later, I purchased a sleeper sofa, coffee table, and two armchairs. The furniture is modern and most of it can be customized based on your tastes. When it was time to upgrade my bedroom furniture, of course I went to MiY again. Once again, I was wow'ed by their line and got matching bed/headboard, two nightstands, and dresser. I love how clean the modern look is and all of the pieces are very sturdy. I also bought my mattress from them (they carry Serta because they're made in Maryland!). Fast forward a few years to now, I am in the process of building a sectional with Michael and Seth. They could not be more accommodating, even with COVID. They are able to provide private shopping by appointment and provide you their full attention to understand what you're looking for. I changed my mind a few times and they were so patient with me. I was greeted with a smile and a sincere hello. My experience at MiY stood out compared to other mattress and furniture shopping experiences because it didn't have a "used car salesman" type feel to it. Instead, they took time to show me each mattress, helped finding my new favorite pillow and sheets while helping me plan my Gus sectional sofa for the future. Pretty excited about that! Hilarious experience there today. My wife and I walked into the store just after lunch. We are looking for a sofa and are eager to buy and were greeted with a hello. Then browsed the entire store. Nice layout, beautiful store. Completely ignored by the staff. To the point that it was comical. We've visited five or six furniture stores and typically get "can I show you something in particular?" Or " do you have any questions we can answer?" Here we got a hello then nothing in the way of customer service or salesmanship. And the store was empty except for one other couple that was also being ignored. Could we have asked for help? Of course! But after our fifth time walking by the two gentlemen staring at their iMac screens we became curious as to whether they intended to acknowledge our presence beyond hello. My wife and I wondered if they in fact even worked there. We are not inclined to go back - most of what they sell can be purchased elsewhere in stores where we can get the attention we expect for the amount of money we plan to spend. read more
