Looked them up on Yelp, was hesitant but decided to send a direct message to the company asking for pricing "iPhone 6plus screen replacement, clean of camera lenses" I was quoted $40 for entire request. When I arrived I was told no it's $160ish and additional $40, I informed the employee that's not what my direct quote was, and I had seen other reviews of people getting misquotes and then showing up and getting a totally different price. I showed her the yelp direct message and she stated "well it was a misunderstanding." For me being the 2nd review of someone stating they had driven an extended distance and did not get the service they expected due to their "misunderstanding" is unacceptable. This company is a rip off never give them your credit card. On Jan 20th this company took $43 on my credit card to fix my phone. They claimed to order the part needed to fix my phone asked for a deposit. A week later no response from them so I called them about the status of my part. The lady said that they will contact me later that day with a response. Two days later got a call back with no Idea of when my part would arrive. After that Ive asked them to cancel the service. I buy the part from Amazon.com for $12 and fixed the phone myself. Two weeks later I get a call from them saying they got the part. I told them that Ive previously cancelled the service and that I should be refunded the deposit. They said no and advised that I would be disputing with my credit card company. The lady hung up the phone on me. Disputed with my credit card company only to find out they submitted paper to them showing a non-refundable deposit. This is a slimy business practice. They got paid for absolutely doing nothing. My next step is to file a complaint with the better business bureau and the state attorney general for unfair business practices. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS SLIMY COMPANY. THEY DONT KEEP THEIR WORD TO PROVIDE SERVICE AS PROMISED!!!!!!!!!! Update 04/03/18. This company response is a lie! I followed up with them 2 times within 7 days. They didnt respond until after 2 weeks. After the 2nd response I told them to cancel. They refused and told me I was going to pay for it anyway. I told them then I was going to contact my credit card company to dispute. Staff is kind and helpful. I also had good success several times using them where the repairs went well. (thus the 4 ). However, one of the reasons I liked them is they have a sign about their phone repair warranties but my experience was that their warranty is pretty much void for anything and everything. Don't except to get something fixed without spending extra if you have to redo. I had issues with screen and it was not cracked and no pinch mark which baffled the technician but they would not cover it. The boss took a few bucks off and said he would attempt to return to the manufacturer but never heard from them again. read more

SetCell is THE place to be if you're having phone issues. These guys know what they're doing but they won't charge you an arm and a leg for it. They have a wide variety of accessories for every phone I've seen recently, even some of the less popular ones. Cases ranging from Hello Kitty to Otterbox to Magpul and LifeProof. If you're looking for a certain type of case I'm sure they have one. It's not just limited to their giant selection of cases though. Cords, chargers, external batteries, tempered glass and lots of other stuff. I had tempered glass installed on my phone here and it was done in literally minutes and my phone looked good as new. Best part? It's lifetime warranty and if the tempered glass gets cracked (Which means you screen won't!) they will replace it for half the cost of the original. I've seen these guys fix all sorts of problems so I don't know if there's a limit to what they can do. My experience with Set Cell today was disappointing. I went in for a cell phone case and a screen protector. The employee rang up the case and the screen protector but did not show me the screen protector, but i paid for it without thinking. It was the wrong one for the phone and a brand I did not want. I needed a return. She starts complaining about making a return, I'll quote" Great, A return, now I'll get yelled at for a return." Very childish and also mumbled a few other things. When I asked what she mumbled, she replied " okay have a nice day" with a bit of a eye roll. I walked out and then I walked back inside and asked for the name of the manager, her response, "ahhhh, let's say, it's Kristin, bye." I work in Westport, I went back to work and Told someone I work with about the happening and they had a similar experience with the same employee. I had a horribly broken screen, with chunks of the glass missing (which revealed the hardware underneath the screen ). I was stubborn for a while about fixing my screen because I didn't want to pay outrageous amounts of money when I was planning on buying a new phone later anyway. However, the missing chunks of phone were a little too much for me to deal with so after doing some research I found that Setcell had the best reviews and competitive prices. I was greeted by Caleb, who was very nice and entertaining. He let me know that to replace my iPhone 6 screen it would be a little over $100! That's chump change compared to some other places I had looked at. I didn't make an appointment; just walked in and I had my phone back with a new screen in exactly one hour! Josh was the technician who fixed my phone and I am very happy with the results. Seriously! This place has great customer service and you absolutely cannot beat the price or the wait time. Bought an S7 yesterday from SetCell. Yesterday when I arrived there was a line of 5 people in front of me. They were severely understaffed at that moment, whenever the employee finally got through the line and to me our transaction was quick because I was ready to gtfo. When I asked the professional about the phones during a phone call proceeding my visit to their store, she told me that all their phones were 30 day or less returns from retail giant's stores. Now that I've had the phone for a day or less, there are some things I have noticed that would indicate to the contrary. The phone's battery doesn't seem to want to charge quickly but that could be the aftermarket charger they gave me with the phone. I found it interesting that I didn't get any of the other OEM equipment with purchase of the phone, but I was in pickle and needed a replacement STAT. As far as the battery life is concerned, I took it off the charger this morning at 6 am, it's 11 am now and it's already down to 70%. Again, could be a bad battery but I would think for the $400 price tag they would have put a new battery in the phone. Haven't really used the phone all that much this morning, so this is surprising. Since I'm having a lukewarm experience I checked the receipt and return policy...24 hr exchange and 14 day returns accepted at a 20% restocking fee. The 14 day policy is reasonable but 20% to restock seems pretty steep considering all they will do is wipe it off and flash the memory. Come on now...the return policy is why I'm giving this a 3 star rating. It's not reassuring as a customer and doesn't make me feel very confident as a buyer. In their defense I haven't called and requested that they switch out the battery for new, so this is my knee-jerk, preliminary reaction to my experience so far. Their employees fail to mention that they don't allow returns of accessories, even if the accessories have not been opened and were bought in-store less than 24 hours prior. I suspect this is because they sell low-end products (for example, screen protectors that sell for $1.50 online go for $22 in store) for incredibly high markups. I have mixed emotions about SetCell. On the great side, they will fix your phone fast and fairly inexpensively in a pinch. Last fall my GalaxyS3 display bit the dust. I thought it was a lost cause but they were able to fix it. I finally upgraded recently to the S6. I remembered they had a plethora of great cases and I wanted one fast so drove 25 minutes to Westport for a visit. There was one other person in the store, but clearly wasn't a customer as the gal behind the counter stopped her conversation with him to help me. She grabbed a couple of cases from behind the counter. The first one tried I liked, but, I'd hoped to browse several more before deciding. But, I said I liked it and she started ringing me up before I could say or do much else. It was an expensive case, more than I wanted to spend but I felt like I should just get it and go. While she wasn't unfriendly, I got the sense she wanted to get me out of there quickly. Upon getting home, I discovered I could buy the same case, and others like it for almost half the price on Amazon. Imagine my horror as I see the receipt says no refunds on accessories!! Only store credit. What am I going to do with store credit? Save it in case I drop my phone again I suppose, and that's only good if the credit value doesn't expire. It's my fault for not speaking up about not being ready to purchase the case I bought, however, it's not very fair that the, "no refund on accessories," rule is only apparent AFTER you make your purchase. A sign or a quick mention of it would have been nice. I still use the case and it works great, I just wish I'd researched better. They are super friendly, helpful folks and they do great work on phones. They also offer refurbed phones for reasonable prices. I will still go back if I ever need my phone fixed or a replacement, but I strongly encourage you do your homework on accessories! read more

I did have great things to say about this company until my last experience with them, but now that I think about it my first dealings with them wasn't exactly perfect either. First time: I wanted to replace my wife's damaged phone. We moved her up from the Lg Optimus G to an LG G2. The price we agreed upon came to $200 and that included charger and a cheap case. I used their special SmartPay financing which was supposed to be 90 days same as cash, but when we completed everything there was an extra 10% charge for using the SmartPay service. This came as a surprise to the salesman, which after my second go with them, I don't really believe he didn't know before. Second visit: I wanted a newer cell phone with wifi calling because I was traveling abroad and didn't want to pay for international service. I was looking for the lg g3. The kc store had one but I couldn't make the trip to get it because of weather, they said they could hold it for me if I put down a $100 deposit. They didn't mention it was a non-refundable deposit. I started having thoughts about other phones or getting this phone elsewhere and called them up to release the hold on my phone to find out if I did I was out my $100 so I decided to get the phone even though I was already having second thoughts. When I went to pick it up I asked about the return policy in case I didn't like it or the features weren't what I had in mind and the salesman told me that if I brought it back within 14 days it would be no problem. I gave the phone a good test and was not impressed. It didn't get reception in some places my old phone did, it powered itself off time with plenty of battery left, and the wifi had issues staying connected while other phones and devices on the same network had no issue. Three days after purchasing the phone, in cash btw, I go to return it to find out there is a 25% restocking fee. This is stated on the receipt, but when I asked the salesman about the return policy at my previous visit I figured he would tell me everything about it and had no reason to look at my receipt. When I expressed my displeasure about this policy I was accused of trying to use them to just borrow a phone, and they might as well have called me a liar. They did say if I left the phone with them they would check the phone out and if it was found to be faulty they would do an exchange or give me store credit in the full amount. Neither option worked for me as I had already gotten a phone that would do what I wanted, these are common problems with this phone and I doubt they would come to a decision that would get my money back, and with the way this transaction was going there would be no way I would ever use them for anything again. How is a person to know if a phone works or is right for them unless they can use it and see if it fits? Which reminds me that I couldn't check how well the phone operated as they didn't have any sim cards for this phone and I had to make a trip to a sprint store to get the phone operational. To sum up if you want replace your phone at upgrade without extending your contract they can do that for you but educate yourself on all their store policies because they aren't too forthcoming with them. Personally, I've found better and more honest deals on Craigslist. You just gotta be careful and smart. read more

I highly recommend Setcell in Westport in kc, MO. My first trip in I had a Samsung s5 that no other store would attempt to fix. I was pretty upset, since I only had the phone for 1 week. The owner of the store could tell I was pretty upset and was signed into a 2 year contract with no insurance on the phone. He took my phone and a couple of hours later fixed :)!!! Plus, it was cheaper than at&ts deductible if I had insurance on it and worked great. I have been a loyal customer since on all my cell phones, tablets need. Their customer service is the best.
