Their VIP area looks nice and I'd be interested in splurging next time for a seat and a better view. There's bars downstairs and upstairs and even some food concessions. First, don't expect table side service, you have to use a QR code to order your meal and put in an "order" to speak with someone. While this wasn't the best, it worked for what we needed which was to ask questions about the menu. Next, you cannot get a glass of wine during the weekend brunch/lunch but you can purchase a bottle and take the rest home. Lastly, there was nobody at the front door so we simply walked into the restaurant and sat ourselves. Beautiful restaurant however, more on the speakeasy/rustic side. Now that I've gotten that out of the way, let's get into why I gave this place a good rating. Well, the wine selection and pasta were enough to make me beyond happy. But the cost was a bit questionable. Pasta- shrimp and caviar (can't remember the sauce) but know this dish was hearty, bursting with flavor, and freshly prepared. It was absolutely delicious with every bite. Wine selection- I ordered a remarkable bottle of 2022 white wine and the citrus and stone fruits made it perfect for the shrimp and caviar. The prices for both the bottle and pasta were really expensive but honestly, I didn't feel bad because I enjoyed both. And then when I saw that the table next to me, had a server who poured their wine for them, I knew then that it wasn't a restaurant thing, it was just how my table was treated. I thought new chairs could be brought in to replace the current chairs. A new paint job with musical murals can bring this place to live. Perhaps a schedule should either be printed or posted inside the venue so that the audiences will know who is performing. There really isn't any assistance, except for the guy in the front desk and the one working the sound system. 4. Costs: $10 as a donation, but it actually is a requirement. This artist is seriously talented and she deserved more than 10 people in the audience. The fact that me, a fan of hers, only found out about the concert through happenstance of my friend playing there, demonstrates how bad a job they do marketing themselves. Not only that, but their website's homepage isn't even updated regularly. The calendar is updated, but you have to know to go straight to the calendar, because their homepage is months behind. The guy who runs the place doesn't seem interested in reaching out to the various listserves and websites in DC that advertise live music and cheap events. This is a pity because the place is conveniently located and there are many people who would probably come here if they knew it existed. I hate putting down a place like this that seems community and volunteer run, but its unfair to the people who come from out of town to play here not to do an adequate job advertising and maintaining the website.
