I discovered I needed to allow lots of time for traffic, especially in the morning. They called me pre-op to get all the necessary information and answered all my questions about my transportation. I was having local anesthesia, so I was able to drive myself home. When I arrived I was greeted and made comfortable in the waiting room. It is very clean! Pre op nurse Elmer did everything correct. Thank you to Josephine, RN who visited me in pre-op. It truly helps when you are a little nervous to have kind and considerate people speaking to you! They informed me of exactly what would happen. Or Nurses Cristina and Karen and Dr. Ekstein spoke with me pre op and during procedure so I knew exactly what was going on. Everything went according to plan. My recovery room nurse Lorraine gave me written and verbal instruction, offered nourishment and assistance, answered all my questions and saw me safely out of the building. I was very impressed with the center, the staff, the kindness and professionalism. I am a nurse and it's pretty hard to please us! A+ in every way.

Everything from start to finish went fine, and I was very happy with the level of service I received from this facility. In the week leading up to my surgery, I received several calls from both Englewood ENT and the Surgery Center to ensure everything was set for my procedure - from paperwork to schedule changes and beyond. I prefer more information than less, so I was happy to receive even a quick phone call or text to update me on even the slightest change. The hardest part about this center is the location - it's really tucked in to a bizarre neighborhood in Fort Lee. However, the location sent me a direct pin to the front door which really helped. (When looking it up on Google Maps, the ETA was slightly different. The listed location on Google Maps is not as accurate at the pin they provide, so use the location that the text message sends out.) I was also grateful for the message about the parking they sent beforehand - the place is undergoing construction and they gave us a head's up about how it may be different to find parking. Obviously, for a surgical procedure, one can expect to be there early to make sure everything runs smoothly. I arrived 90 minutes before my scheduled time (7:30am). The gentleman at the front desk was kind and informative. You basically submit everything before you go, so you only need to sign some paperwork before you go in. The waiting room is also very chill and comfortable, with a TV screen that gives you up-to-date patient information so your guest can know what's going on. Upon entering pre-opt, every person was lovely, kind, and informative. Shout out to Elmer who took my pre-opt notes while I was getting ready! I am a talker (especially when I'm nervous) and the nurses were very happy to engage in conversation with me. While I was finished and waiting to wake up from anesthesia, the Center and doctor called my dad to let them know how I was doing. Upon waking, AJ took care of me - she's awesome! I was out and ready by 11am. I really could not have asked for a better experience!

I really can't tell you how much I appreciated Dr. Baker and the staff at IZ Medical. While I love…read moremy PCP, I think this may be my go-to in case I need urgent care. I am not sure if IZ medical is listed as an urgent care facility, but if I am ever sick and need a doctor on a dime, I will absolutely give this office a call. Let me tell you about how I ended up at IZ Medical. On Monday, I went to a different facility (one that I had been going to for a few years), complaining of signs of an ear infection. I was told there was nothing wrong with me, and was sent home with a COVID PCR test. Well, I woke up in the middle of the night with a 102 fever...of course, these days, a sudden fever makes you think it's COVID. I spent all of Tuesday morning looking for area doctors and offices that would give a rapid COVID test AND would take my insurance...many places in the Hudson County area (where I am from) were either booked for a week out (what's the point of a rapid COVID test then?) or they were charging anywhere from $100 to $150 dollars. A friend of mine suggested IZ Medical, as their family members had signs of COVID and they also took the rapid test here. When I called up and explained my situation, the lovely woman on the phone said, "How fast can you get here?" They had booked me within an hour, and I was able to get a rapid COVID test. But that's not all. When the test came back negative, and I explained to Dr. Baker that I was experiencing sudden fever symptoms, he immediately tested me for the flu and examined me, asking me questions and listening to my story about my onset of symptoms. I liked that Dr. Baker didn't stop at "the test is negative." Dr. Baker also had a PA-in-training with him, and he was explaining the what-where-why regarding my symptoms and issues. Dr. Baker discovered that I had a ball of wax in my ear that had sealed my ear canal shut, plus my whole sinus area was irritated / inflamed. He gave me some medicine to treat it, and told me to return if the ball of wax did not fall out with treatment. All in all, I can't thank Dr. Baker enough for seeing me on such short notice. In addition, the rest of the staff here is extremely attentive and the office is absolutely gorgeous. I will keep this place in mind, if I ever need to see a doctor for things like colds or illnesses.

After multiple delayed callbacks, the physician eventually spoke with me by phone. When I asked reasonable follow-up questions about medication side effects, the conversation escalated. The physician became verbally aggressive, stated there was nothing further the urgent care could do, and originally refused to provide her name. The call was then handed over to the manager, who immediately raised her voice, spoke over me, accused me of demanding medications, and continued escalating the interaction. When I stated that the call was being recorded, she incorrectly claimed this was illegal in New Jersey, used profanity, and abruptly ended the call. I was calling as a sick patient trying to discuss side effects and treatment options. The way this situation was handled was unprofessional and disappointing. The fact that this is how they treat sick patients who are just asking a few questions is very telling about the "care" they provide.
